@AJ Lira because when things go mainstream they ruin the "exclusiveness" about it. like when you hear things on the radio over and over and over again, untill you get tired of it or hate the song because you hear it all the time. eventually it dies. we dont want that.

It has everything to do with the integrity of the artist, and nothing to do with the number of fans. The fans test the artists' integrity.

Well the thing is, once any artist reaches the mainstream they usually sell out and nor me or anyone else can account for that artist's choice to do so. That is why people worry about it: because then that artist's style will be ruined and there will be less good music to look forward to. If that artist can stay popular without changing him or herself then great, I have no issue with it.
