This hitch can be installed without lowering the exhaust. We lower the exhaust so that it is easier for viewing purposes and to give us a bit more room to work. www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Hitch/Curt/C13416.html
We do not. I would recommend taking it to a local shop that you trust and see if they will install the hitch for you. www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Hitch/Curt/C13416.html

Anyone with this hitch having problems with a loaded 4-bike carrier scraping the ground when driving out from park? I have read somewhere that after market hitches like this one affects the departure angle of the RAV4. So, for example on an inclined driveway, the bike carrier hits the driveway when the rear tires drive off the cub.
This is typical. Avoid steep driveways or go at an angle to avoid scraping. Also try using the CURT 18050 61-Inch Bike Rack Support Strap to help with wobbling and keeping the rack secure.
Very helpful thank you so much!!!

Any hitch will affect the departure angle of the RAV4. The length of a 4 bike tray style carrier significantly reduces the departure angle.
