The cage represents the heart. Empty. The only things that get inside are your own thoughts. Then we go up, to the brain, which is full of clouds; a storm. We see them from above, we see the water falling (tears?) and they're down. Your heart get's so cold the water becomes ice. Then they die, and only then it all fades away; the cold dissappears; they can rest.
The video is full of symbolism and it goes great with the song. This is my interpretation. Damn depression.

Alexandsl I agree completely the whole song sounds like they’re trying to escape mental illness and the factors that come with it. Like pushing people away and wanting to find new places that they don’t have bad memories at so they can escape their past/sadness.

I just wanna share this,
the first scene shows that billie is in a box, possibly meaning she's traped inside. Since khalid was doing an echo stuff maybe he is her inner voice. But then he sang along with her so she got well with it (maybe).
The next scene shows a lightning, indicating a storm maybe inside their head.
Next shows khalid walking towards a short end part but ends up having a long path, then billie joins her showing support.
Next was them being under water. Meaning drowning, they feel like they are drowning..
The last scene where ice was seen it meant that the stuff that made them feel like they were drowning finally crumples up together leaving them.
Feeling the heavyness of the ice we see that Khalid and Billie are together (Means that you are not alone in a battle)
