      Yet people in Muslim majority countries may learn about how al-Andalus flourished during the Euro dark ages, compared to the Catholic understanding of Muslims as heretics all throughout the Reconquista. The Holy See and HREs have managed to spread some of the most successful propaganda in history!

    • @AleaRandomAm
      @AleaRandomAm 3 роки тому +4

      @@joshygoldiem_j2799 It's not propaganda, you have to respect other religious view, according to Roman Catholicism, Islam is an heresy, that's all, deal with it. I'm not even Catholic myself so I don't care if they consider me an heretic, you should do the same, it has nothing to do with propaganda, the Holy See doesn't write the school curriculum.
      I'm Portuguese and we do learn about the culture of Al-Andalus, stop thinking that we hate them and ignore them, it's false, there even is an Arab culture festival in Mértola, an important town in Al-Andalus' history in Portugal.
      We just don't learn about the name of the rulers because it's not our country. We also don't learn about the rulers of the Suebi or the Wisigoths, even though they were Christians.

      You should visit Mértola, the home of Ibn Qassi, a Sufi ruler of Roman descent who rebelled against the Almoravids, he was a personal friend of king D. Afonso Henriques and was killed by the Almohads.
      And also Marvão, one of the homes of Ibn Marwan (the town is named after him), ruler of Badajoz, he was a renegade ruler who rebelled against the caliphate and allied with the Christians and mullawads (who were mostly renegades like him).

    There is an issue in your lineage chart. Fortún Garcés of Pamplona was taken in captivity by Muhammad, but due to chronological inconsistencies with Fortún's daughter, infanta Onneca Fortúnez, regarding the years of her two alleged marriages, first to her cousin Aznar Sánchez de Larraún (the actual marriage), and secondly when widowed, allegedly to Abdullah. So, she gave then birth to Muhammad (father of Abd-el-Rahman III) and to two other daughters, making Onneca Muhammad's mother and Abd-el-Rahman's III grandmother. The Roda Codex from which we take notice of this, most certainly confused two different Pamplona's princesses: Onneca Fortúnez with her aunt Onneca Garcés (who also married an Aznar, but Aznar Galíndez II, count of Aragón), who most certainly was Abd-el-Rahman III grandmother, and Muhammad's mother by a forced marriage to Abdullah. By the way, the mother of Abd-el-Rahman was a Christian concubine of his father Muhammad. Warm greetings.

    I enjoyed your series of videos about Muslim Iberia, but it would have been great if you could put less emphasis on the military aspect and more on the socio-cultural one. I write from Latin America. After watching your video I realized that the conquer of the Americas by the Castillians was only possible because Al-Andalus fell. Should Muslim kingdoms had survived longer in South Spain, the discovery, conquest and colonization of the New World by Europeans would have taken longer or never had happened.

Mecca was founded by the Moors and as Angels of Allah, guards the Holy City of Mecca. Now let us spend this time in silence.

    wait, so you are doing an obvious imitation of another UA-camr, even making up a knock off of his logo, and you aren't providing a link to his channel? I think your lawyers may still want to have a word with you as changing a couple letters does not mean you are all clear. Like just a quick shout out to Matt would make it okay, but as it stands I think you are in the wrong

      Well, this was done with Matt's consent, actually. It was a joke because people would point out that this video is very similar to what Matt does so, I made a joke out of it. However, I forgot to add his channel's link in the description (which was always part of the plan) so, thank you for reminding me.

    Whilst this was a useful video, trying to understand what is being said is utterly difficult. Someone either can’t speak English or the accent is so terrible and certainly doesn’t know how to pronounce words properly. For example the word city has a T in it and not a D! Please employ someone who can speak English!!!
