Yes, bobbi pins are closed with little ridges, hair pins are open, and straight pins are used for sewing, hair. I just did a quick Google image search to make sure I wasn't getting them confused. Haha I think it's so awesome that you go through and reply to your UA-cam comments. Thanks so much for responding. =)
I always try your styles with the braids I have! Right now I have the braided crown updo... I GET NEVERENDING COMPLIMENTS! Some people even think they're dreads, lol! Your an inspiration!
I did it right after I saw the video. I love it! Thanks for posting these videos. I prefer wearing my long locs up, and ponytails are boring. Thanks again!
Hi Ches. You inspired me many years ago when I decided to loc my hair the first time. Your videos are still a jewel ! I know people want and need a change. Why did you cut your locs ??
Love it! I feel a response video coming on (if that's ok). My locs are much shorter though so i'm going to try some variations like you suggested. Def. wedding hair material :)
Love this. Super awesome. I don't have locs anymore, but I'm rocking mini Marley Twists right now, and think I'll try this out. Also, I think it's funny how you called them "straight pins," instead of bobbi pins/hair pins. When I think of a straight pin, I think of what you use to hold fabric in place for sewing. 😛
thanks! bobby pins are the closed pins with little ridges. Straight pins are straight and open ;) www.zadidoll.com/2013/06/hair-pins-versus-bobby-pins.html
I love the updos. In a few days I will be celebrating being locked for 3 years. I can't believe how tender headed I still am. Did you ever experience this. If so how did you overcoming it. I can never make it all the way through the day in an updo. Is this style heavy at all?
Hair is fab as usual!! Was that Patrick in the back telling one of the dogs to sit?? lol. And I definitely agree that this is wedding hair...I think flat twists on the side in addition to the bun, mb with some little hair accessories (nothing major) will really make the hairstyle pop (for a formal event..ie your wedding :D)!
Hey there, I have a question... or rather a statement followed by a question lol... I love your hair and I was thinking to lock my hair for a while now but I'm not sure who to go about it. I have a huge fro of hair lol. And I want to have locks a tiny bit thicker than yours (because I'm afraid that my hair might start splitting) but i want a good quantity of locks on my head. Should I part them small? Should I just let someone else do them? I want locks so bad!
Number 1 is exactly how I explain it to people all the time when they ask me how come my locs are so long. I tell them the 'length' of locs is kind of an illusion. LOL
all i could think the entire time i watched this video? this hair style is great, but holy CRAP that is FABULOUS eyeliner. you're awesome. just saying.
everyone takes care of their hair differently. i can't speak for how other people condition their hair, only myself. i don't use conditioner. i use natural oils to keep my hair and scalp moisturized.
Three reasons: 1) With locs you keep all your shed hair. They say ppl shed 50-100 strands per day (from the root). Think of all the shed hair you vacuum or sweep up monthly. With locs, the shed hair never drops from the loc but just accumulates and increases its length & volume. 2) Unlike with loose hair, you're not combing or brushing at all, so you don't break off your hair that way (3) With loose hair, you trim to remove splits & knots. With locs you don't trim at all, cause it's unnecessary.
I love this for dance events but not your wedding. Only because it's on an angle. Think of the pictures Patrick would have to be on one side only. Clearly do whatever you want since the style is beautiful. Im just anti-one sided styles for weddings.
i don't have long hair or locs but I could literally watch this channel all day.
I don't even have locs, but I still watch every single one of your tutorials. You're just amazing and I love the way you put your videos together.
Thank you so much for this. I did this style yesterday for my birthday and it was a hit. I hope you come out with more hair how-to’s soon! 💋💜

I'm in love with your hair as well as your eye decoration-situation! Pretty Lady!
I always get super excited when I see you've uploaded another video lol
I just started my locs in July and they're so short, but I still love all your hair styles. Also, your eyeliner is hot!
I did it right after I saw the video. I love it! Thanks for posting these videos. I prefer wearing my long locs up, and ponytails are boring. Thanks again!
Yes that golden liner has the effect of making the eyes bigger. The bun is fab :)
I am feeling you on the second part. I hate trying to get all my stray locs to act right. Love the eyeliner!! but im sure you know that. ♡♡♡
Hi Ches. You inspired me many years ago when I decided to loc my hair the first time. Your videos are still a jewel ! I know people want and need a change. Why did you cut your locs ??

Should your locs be damp to make this work? Love your channel. I have told anyone with locs about it! Yes your eye linear is sweet.
yay- definitely wedding hair-worthy.
Your skin is soooo beautiful!
Loving that style!

It looks so heavy, but I love it! And I'm in love with the gold eyeliner as well. Definitely gonna have to try it out :-)
How will you do your hair for your wedding? Please do a video!!
Love this. Super awesome. I don't have locs anymore, but I'm rocking mini Marley Twists right now, and think I'll try this out.

You would look beautiful with any hairstyle for your wedding! :)
Ooooh, could you do a video on how you retwist your hair?
I have in Marley Twists but I'm so trying out this style today:)
Chesca I did a similar style w/ my marley twists!
Ches, where is your piercing? I love the loc look, I can't wait till mine are that long. Love your videos and personality

nope! dry hair is fine ;) you only need wet or damp hair for curls. thanks for the support!
Think I will try this
it's still there! but sometimes it's covered by my shirt, or just out of frame.
beautiful!
I love your hair
The style is gorgeous but is it heavy at that angle or on your hairline in the front and sides?
I wonder if you have the same hair length if you could do a variation of this style. I bet It'd be pretty
can you do style tutorials for short locks please?
and in the beginning, what product do you advise I should use based on your experience?
Brooke I'm in that boat!!
i'm on it!
I've missed that background song. It's been a while!!!! What's the name of the song and who created it?
if you could achieve the look Monae has in Primetime that would be amazing, looking good btw

Do people with locs deep condition or use leave ins or regular conditioner?
Do you ever use hair steamers?
everyone takes care of their hair differently. i can't speak for how other people condition their hair, only myself. i don't use conditioner. i use natural oils to keep my hair and scalp moisturized.

How many dreads do you have?
are you gonna put your wedding video and honeymoon on youtube? i mean, like little slide show or something? :)
