- Blind buy and first impression of the new Vanilla Vice from Snif. The new perfume mist from Sol De Janeiro finally came in so I'm finally able to give my first impressions on that as well.

One thing I discovered since getting SDJ 59 is that SOME body sprays can be a little like mid eastern frags , where you initially spray a few thorough pumps to get chems mixed , then try to wear again later 🙂. I was a little disappointed once receiving my SDJ 59 from Sephora (online purchase ) , because initially , I didn’t smell much. Low and behold , I gave it about a few full pumps , let it sit for a couple of days , and now I get the FULL effect of the fragrance notes as well as longevity. It’s airy , not loud , but still noticeable 😃. Great video !
I had not noticed that before with other missed, but I can definitely see that with this one. And the matching body butter as well definitely gets stronger as it sits.
@@vaniamickelle yeah 😋. It’s strange how certain fragrances work. It was the same way with bbw indigo dreams when that initially came out. All I could smell was absolutely nothing , but eventually gave in and gave it a try … now it projects ! lol 😆.
Vania! By the Fireplace (real deal) literaly smells just like that ! I never understood the massive popularity. I wouldn’t think that scent profile ( Literal photorealistic camp fire SMOKE without the marshmallows and graham crackers) would be a hit for the masses. It was extremely challenging and im im pretty deep in the niche realm myself and I just couldn’t stomach it. It was so annoying wearing it.
Those two sprays on my arm was with me the rest of the day! I could not imagine!

Thanks for sharing! Yes to Mod Vanilla! I sampled the SDJ body mist in store and didn't love it. It smells very mature but not in a good way. 💕

I ordered vanilla Vice but usps put my package in a mailbox locker at my apartment that’s stuck and I’m trying to work with them to get it out lol so as of now I don’t know what it smells like to me but I have seen people compare it to mod vanilla and personally i love the dua brands version of mod vanilla, it’s better than the original. It is one of my favorite vanilla perfumes. It’s called Dark Plum Vanille. They are currently out of stock but they do restock it often… it sells really fast but you should try it.
I didn't eve know dua brand had a version of mod vanilla. I'll have to keep my eye out. Hopefully you can get your package out soon!

Your thoughts on the SDJ releases are the same as mine. I like it but it's not a love for me. The body butter is good though 💜. I honestly like the smell of the body butter better than the mist.
Yeah it's nice but nothing to write home about. And the more the body butter has been sitting the better it is
I loveee vanilla vice. It’s actually really strong on me. I do agree that I don’t get vanilla ice cream, but instead I get waffle cone. I mixed it with Commodity Milk and smelled like a whole snack 😂😂😂
I was literally looking at commodity milk when I was filming like that would be fire together
I grabbed the full bottle of this the min it dropped! I get like a woody vanilla too. Def not ice cream to me. Not sure why they advertise it as an ice cream scent. And mine is strong and really lasts! Which is nice. It's already getting more strong and woody as it's been sitting.
I honestly don't know why either. But just from those couple of sprays I could easily smell it for a good while. It's promising overall!
Not sure if they needed to sit and macerate/mature, but I picked up both 59 mist and body butter and they are beautiful! No, they're not beast mode/ME strong, but they smell amazing! Soft pretty and a nice scent bubble for about 3-4 hours. So edt strength but still good

Scent is so subjective because I don’t think vanilla vice is comparable to Mod Vanilla at all. I agree the marketing on vanilla vice is so off because it’s not a creamy sweet scent at all. I personally didn’t care for Vice but I LOVE Mod Vanilla 🙌🏻

Vania: it sounds like you are growing bored of some of these new scents, lol.
I definitely had to take a pause because nothing has truly impressed me as much. Sometimes I think there’s but so many scents one can create… the market is saturated (pun intended). I recently told myself I continue to buy fragrances in the same scent families and wonder why most of my stuff smells so similar. When I do try blind buys, I don’t really get that WOW factor that I’d hoped for… which reminded me that I can save my coins and shop my own collection for the time being.
I’m certainly being more intentional about committing to a full size bottle. I’ve been getting more travel sizes so I can try them out and determine if it’s for me or not.

I love By the Fireplace. Add Fresh Cream Warm Cashmere to sweeten it up. I also have worn it with Sweet Diamond Pink Pepper and it was bomb af

I give up on SDJ sprays. I can’t justify the price for the longevity. The body butter was thick but tooo thick. Even when I mixed with a little oil, it wasn’t easy to spread and I had a hard time applying on my body. Fenty’s body butter is still my go to as it is more moisturizing and applies like a dream.
Understandable, everything isn't for everyone. And I am a huge huge fan of the fenty body butter! it is top tier!
They have 250ml dupes on SHEIN!! I paid $3-5 for mine and they smell exactly like the SDJ ones.
The new sol de janero 59 is a pleasant surprise. I smelled the lotion a month ago and smelled nothing . But today i smelld the spray after hearing good reviews and i LOVED it and so i bought it. It's long lasting for a spray too. It smells like something i smelled before tho. I cant pinpoint it tho and it's driving me insane!! Lol. I want to get rio radiance in the perfume oil from fragrant body oilz. Have u tried? Any good?! Let me know ..anyone

The 59 mist smells just like twilight woods at bath and body works, so I was kind of disappointed.
Ohh I haven’t smelled twilight woods in a minute. That might be good news for some people who like twilight woods, but can’t find it anywhere
@vaniamickelle true I thought it would be so much more the way people hyped it up. Lol glad I got the small bottle since I have twilight woods too.
The Alt By the Fireplace was so bad, I had to go straight to the bathroom at TJ Maxx and scrub the skin off my arm and still could not get that stink off. I like the original, but the ALT version should be illegal.
I was going to say, even after scrubbing it still don’t come right off. It is eternal!
