An epic trail around Val di sole, Italy: “The great war”…and we give news about the next expedition

The preparation with the muscle bike continues, not long before the expedition which, however, we introduce in this video.
We are at the beginning of September and with our friend Barce we leave, towards Ponte di Legno, the starting point of our MTB adventure.
Today there is a ring tour, known and beaten by many bikers, traced as: “The tour of the great war”.
Go up towards the Bozzi Refuge on a beautiful and long dirt road. The legs are "wooden", due to the workouts, perhaps a little too forced, of the previous days. A short break for a hot tea and ready to go towards the pass, located a few meters from the refuge, which leads to the splendid valley that leads to Pejo. From the pass to the village it is a total blast, a simple single track, long and immersed in a lunar landscape first and then wooded. We have a lot of fun.
Once we reach the Pian Palu lake, we continue on a path that runs along the river, which is also very beautiful and characteristic. Once in Pejo, down to Ossana. From here we take a dirt road that leads us to Passo del Tonale. We are exhausted and with a thousand pains but slowly we reach the goal. Stop for a beer and back on our bikes.
We walk the down hill route, even if we are not very experienced on these tracks, which leads us to the end of the tour. We are back in Ponte di Legno, happy and better trained than before.
It's time to talk a little about why we train. So let's introduce the destination of our next expedition ...
