When you hear your neighbors singing karaoke in the Philippines, its synonymous to them having a good time. It usually happens when friends, families, coworkers or parties happen. We dont usually frown upon people who just want to sing even if they're not in tune or they're not good enough. We just laugh and let others sing even if they're drunk singing or happy singing. We grew up thinking that when we're happy, we sing and simply have fun. Technicalities aren't really thought of, unless one wants to improve his singing and make it his career. A lot of us can't afford to learn how to sing properly. With that being said, Filipinos have that knack of doing the best we could with what we see or hear without the fear of being laughed at or criticized upon while being artistic about making a song your own or simply emulating it.
actually we sing our heart out whatever emotions we have, be it happy, sad, angry, frustrated etc we always express it by singing.i remember some vloggers saying they are culture shocked when they land in the airport and they pass by filipinos sing everywhere even by themselves
So true.. technicalities only learn if u can afford to or if u entered into a competition and given a technique by your mentor, that is a bonus for u.. Singing together with your family and friends whether u have a good voice or not..the happiness when u are all together that truly matters..
Full stomach, sitting down, scratching your foot while belting high notes and doing amazing runs. Yep. Just another day for us in the Philippines. For real.🤣
You're right. Filipinos learn to sing through imitation. When we sing we strive to sing it very close to original. Unless of course you're in a competition where you are expected to make a small variation in your interpretation. But singing casually like with Karaoke and random jamming, we want to imitate the original singer.
Youve probably heard/read this countless times but this kind of singing is actually NORMAL here in the Philippines. Thats why people dont give that much attention.
Hello waleska and efra.here in philippines almost beaches resort their villas or cottages has karaoke /videoke machine installed already.and proud to say brian is my relatives.thank you.much much love from philippines .stay safe and god bless

Filipinos just love singing so much. It is part of our lives... From the moment we are in our mother's womb we are already exposed to music and singing. As kids we are made to dance and sing in family gatherings. We go out during Christmas and sing Christmas Carols on other people's homes. There is always a videoke somewhere. We even compete on who gets the mic first. It has really become a culture for us to sing. Even those who sings poorly loves to sing. Even those who do not actually shows off their singing abilities in public sings in their thoughts. That's right we sing in our thoughts. We sing when we ride public or private transport. We sing in the shower. We sing at school or at work. It is really a part of our lives

Whatever everyone says that this is normal back home, this is still a beautiful duet. They sound soooo amazing!!! I want to appreciate how good those singers are.
These two singers are both started conpeting in certain different singing competitions in Visayas region since then, during their high school to college years, they used their voice to earned for additional allowance while schooling. I heard them before 10 yrs ago competing each other in weekly singing contest in CEBU CITY then move to Manila for national sing competitions.
This is just a common thing...people just come together, whether standing, sitting around, eating and drinking just as long as there are mics and karaoke tool...that it, music magic is made!!! 👍🤗🎶😊🎤👏😅No sweat!!! Right., there are really people born with it...i don't have trainings in singing but i can carry a tune since my father was singer ...people who knows him he can really sings well but i never heard my father singing because we've been separated...i think i inherit those things...i can even feel singing up until through my bones...😊
If I'm not mistaken, Reggie also joined Tawag ng Tanghalan. And you guys might be interested in listening to Filipino folk songs. You did mention about about singing to a water buffalo, a grandmother singing a lullaby... We have songs about crab, planting rice, fish, etc
Hi guys.. been watching your reactions videos for more than two weeks now, and i just love watching both your reactions to every filipinos, singers or not.. Filipinos are just like this, it is just a normal thing to us. We don't actually all this technicalities that you are talking about, we just love to sing. If we heard a song we just sing the way it was sung, then we tried to make it much better version.then we're happy..We just enjoyed singing!
Yes they are a professional singer Brian was one of the contestant in the noon time show which is "it's show time" and they are not in the farm it is located in my province.. and that place has a natural water it's like a spring very cold water🙂
First of all Filipinos love to sing. At birth, whoever takes care of you be it your mother or grandmother will be singing to you endlessly. As you grow up, you realize singing is part of your culture. Why? Because you will definitely experience and participate in almost every fiestas, parties, birthdays, bars, restaurants and even in your own school, university and especially in church. The minute you see and invited to join a karaoke, someone will be singing anticipating you will be the next one to sing. Now here is the clincher, at least one or two members of your family are singers down to your cousins, neighbors and friends. Some compete and a lot of these singers have no formal training, absent the technical side or musical education. They all learn by themselves. Self thought by heart. Music becomes fun and entertaining not usually to profit but rather have the pure passion and talent to do it. Maybe the world would agree there are a lot of Filipino gifted singers.
You'll hear people singing in karaoke every freaking day, morning 'till night. Yes, school encourage students to sing and dance. The school will held a competition either by section or by grade level(solo or group). All students need to join because teachers will give them extra points or its for the grade and we all experience it from elementary to college
Each sitio have their good singers thats why filipinos are famouse interms of music, , , filipino r very easy to zipra those tunes filipino is the best
Growing up stateside, All my relatives and ALL of their friends had a karaoke machine, sent from the Philippines before it became popular in the US. You should look at some of the videos of the islands /tours of the Philippines and there has to be a Filipino food joint near you, try some 😂......while you're watching Filipino videos😂
Both of them joined Tawag ng Tanghalan. If you come to the Philippines, you're gonna love to have fun with us. Filipinos are friendly, loving and jolly people. If you get the chance to sing in karaoke with filipino friends with you, I assure you, you'll never get tired of singing bc whoever holds the microphone... Will sing and can sing. You'll have time to rest your vocal chord Waleska while listening to equally talented filipinos around you. Many foreigners ask, what's with our water? (It ain't literal, fyi) why filipinos are so talented in singing? I don't know, maybe it's pinoy's passion, maybe God was good enough to shower us with this talent. With no exaggeration guys, the place where I live in has a bunch of talented people. Almost all the residents in our community CAN SING. When I say all, it means all ages, from the youngsters to the oldies. I'm not braggin' 'tho. It's the truth. Singing is filipinos life! Good day Waleska and Efra.

Just recently, I happened to watch one of your video reactions from a while back and I must say that your pronunciation of Filipino words has dramatically improved. A whole lot. I'm literally blown away. The "ng" sound is one of the most challenging for foreigners to master and you've just nailed it.

Agreed! Passion is the fuel that "makes everything else bollocks" (pardon the language).
Qualifiers here in singing contests maybe better than champions from other countries. 🥰
We enjoy your reactions. Have you ever reacted to the Filipino Tenors singing Isang Kundiman and Kundiman Ng Langit. They are out of this world.

Talented! ♥
It's funny how Filipino talents doesn't give so much credit from our own country, if we will focused on improving it more, we can be in the International scene.
Luckily, here's SB19 breaking the normal norms and giving it their best for World domination.

People passing by like its a normal day.
Always here for you, watching always your reaction video. Merry Christmas and happy new year!
You'll hear people singing in karaoke every freaking day, morning 'till night. Yes, school encourage students to sing and dance.
