@@AntarikAnwesan hey Antarik.. Is it possible to visit Spiti Valley in next 15 days? We're planning a road trip by a 2x2 SUV to kashmir and onto Manali, Spiti, Rishikesh & downward. Would it be possible to visit spiti around 1st week of December?
Excellent. That one word is enough. At 91 with acute cardiac problems probably out of bounds for me but just returned from Lahaul which was a snowscape from summits to river beds parts of which were frozen due to rather too early and very heavy snowfall. Only 4/4 vehicles were allowed beyond Solang. Having widely traveled in alpine Europe Norway fjords usa mountains etc can say nowhere I saw such awesome views. Carried oxygen cans but surprisingly didn't need it at 12000 ft. With 7/8 layers didn't feel any chill in subzero temperature either. What I needed was self belief that nothing was going to happen to me and that I had in full measure. Went without consulting my cardiologist and when told him on return he said some external forces must have helped u. Why I wrote about myself is that with self belief one can undertake seemingly impossible tasks such as visiting Spiti in winter. I am getting tempted after watching this superb video which prepares u adequately to venture such a trip. I don't own a car any longer so have to convince my son who has a 4/4 and is an adventure traveller. If I am alive till March 23 !
Oh man! We are planning to go there in Feb 2022. This is an amazing video and much much needed. Appreciate for the detailed insights. I am from Bangalore, never seen snow for real, never experienced cold below 10-15 degrees. So, I am fearing and obviously madly excited. MADLY! Pray for my well-being there, UA-cam viewers :) I love to be with the local so I will learn some bit of the language. Want to just make this experience of life! Thank you brother!
Hey ! Nice Video Bro..i guess we were in Spiti Valley at the same time in Mid March, the landslide part that u have shown was just ahead of Spello village n it took good 7...8 hrs to get accessible...if i m guessing correctly u were a part of the 2 mini bus group that got strucked in the landslide (road widening blast) that got a way too much more than expected by the BRO coz of the geographical structure. Awaiting your reply.👍

@@SnehaOnEscape that's great i was thinking to go last month but cancelled after watching this video. Considering the current scenario it will be hard to maintain sanitization norms with so many difficulties. Although i'm glad u made it
Great video journal of the trip. I just did this circuit (Mid December 2021) with a very old friend of mine and the experience was awesome. The only difference was the presence (or absence) of snow on the roads. Everything else I could easily relate to. P.S. I saw this video AFTER our trip
Watching this video right here at a homestay in Dudhli (near Shimla). Gonna be mighty useful for the next few days as we're still planning our Spiti trip. Hehehe. Thanks, mate. Will update when we're done. Cheers!
This is probably the most helpful spiti guide I’ve come across! And it would be really helpful to understand the region, route and terrain if you could provide a detailed map of the route and the locations!
Brilliant video. Extremely useful . Do you have any trips towards Kinnaur or Spiti again this year in winters I can join . I can’t manage a group as yet 😩
Sooo... here's my update: From Shimla, made it to Kalpa and then turned back: too much black ice on the road and I had no experience driving in those conditions plus only a few hundred KMs driving in India. On the other side, made it to Jalori Pass and was advised to turn back just before the steep downhill section began (I think it was near the Mahakali temple). All in all, it was great fun! 👍🤟🗻 Everybody else watching this video... take his advice: if you are driving by yourself, you better be really good at driving in tricky and slippery conditions. Driving on black ice is fun but very dangerous if you are a rookie! ✌ Take care 😉
I did see some locals driving even an Alto and 800. But as tourists who aren’t aware of those roads, it’s better to be safe. I’m no automobile expert though, but those roads are really bad and narrow at places. As long as there is no sudden snowfall that blocks the roads, any month should be fine :)
Thanks Saurabh. The homestays cost anywhere between ₹500-1500 depending on what kind of room you choose. A double occupancy is around ₹1000 with dinner and breakfast. The altimeter app is inbuilt in iphones.

Can you share contacts of the homestays you stayed in?

Hey Rutuja, Spiti has now been completely closed to tourists till March 2021. So no visits possible anymore until April.
