  • This video will show you how to build an automatic GSM auto dialler triggered by a car/ home security/ fire alarm.
    There is No Programming required and requires only some simple modifications to a mobile phone and some soldering.
    Great for when you are away on holiday etc... when the alarm is triggered, the phone will call any number you set and let you know that your home/ car alarm has been triggered.
    A GSM auto dialler may reduce the cost of your home/ car insurance.
    A simple 555 monostable circuit may be needed to create a short pulse from alarm panels that put out a continuous high signal

    from 00:19 to 00:40 "power" led is on "clock" led is blinking "ready" led doesn't light
    while from 7:34 "ready" starts light up and down while making dialing
    and in the end of video same as in beginning "ready" doesn't light
    is there any additional difference in circuits in this video except resistor hang from the right side? (for clock speed)
    and what is the dialing sequence for this schematics?
    thank you for video! hope can help me make this work :)

    hi. i'm a student and currently i'm doing this for my project. i've done the circuit part and it worked but i didnt include the additional resistor like in this video. then i connect all the output connection with the phone but it didnt dial any number. i already set the number to be dialed thru speed dialing like you said in your comment below, but still nothing happen except for the ready LED lights on and off when i trigger the input. can you tell me if i missed anything or something? do i need to do something with the phone like setting up something first? oh and fyi i use sony ericson k320i but i think its kinda same with the one you used. help me i'm stuck :'(

      nur sakinah Rosli Hello,
      Assuming that the problem doesn't lie with using a different type of phone then it could be to do with the charger you are using.
      Can you verify that the negative on the 12V charger is continuous? A reading of 0 ohms between the negative input and negative output of the charger indicates the charger should be suitable.
      I highly recommend the latest GSM dialer i've made: ua-cam.com/video/6fwM_oTjqG0/v-deo.html
      It's much simpler and less to go wrong.
      The Schematic and Arduino code is available here: facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=847444311997005&set=a.412413078833466.97977.100001943323580&type=1&theater
      Just copy and paste and your nearly done.
      Thanks

    Hi I'm a student and I am doing this circuit for a project. We need a motion sensor which is a must to detect movement for our project. Is it advisable to add a motion sensor to this circuit if so may I know how? It would help me alot in my project. I kindly request your guidance on this. Thank you.

  • @oojimmyflip
    @oojimmyflip 9 років тому

    Hi, I built one these a few years ago using a Nokia phone I was wondering if it was feasible to leave the charger connected all of the time to ensure that it remains in standby with enough power, these older phones don't seem to hold a charge for more than a few days.

    • @RogueElectron
      @RogueElectron  9 років тому

      oojimmyflip This circuit requires the phone to be connected to the charger in order to function correctly. As long as the battery/ charger are good, it shouldn't be a problem. If the battery/ charger starts heating up then something isn't right

    Take an old nokia, solder wires to 2 and end call keys, connect the 2 key to a relay and that relay to bell output on your alarm panel. Then connect the end call key to a push button ant route it out of the panel.

    Hi there, you say on your website that 'This circuit can be modified to call multiple numbers 1 after the other'. Could you please explain how? Can the original circuit (non Arduino) version do that? Thanks

    • @RogueElectron
      @RogueElectron  9 років тому

      Naveed Aslam Hi, The original "Non-Arduino" version could be adapted but would take hours to redesign and solder additional parts etc. The Arduino version would require additional number buttons to be connected to the arduino and the program would need re-writing in an order that dials the first speed dial, Hangs up, then calls the next auto-dial and so on.Thanks

  • @lawalmohammed83

    Please Sir How do you modify this to control home appliances with a relay?

    • @RogueElectron
      @RogueElectron  3 роки тому

      Unfortunately this does the opposite. This takes a hardware input and makes a phonecall, you need something that does the reverse. i imagine a GSM module and arduino could be a good way to go but i have no experience with them... yet.

  • @wasmochtensietrinken

    Why not configure one button to be fast dial? And then the short will come via a relay that will be connected to the alarm's output, such as a siren output. Just disable keypad lock and you are good to go.

    • @RogueElectron
      @RogueElectron  2 роки тому

      It's been a while but IIRC there were notifications and things for missed calls and texts that prevented a 1 button solution as you'd have to "back out" of the notification before using the fast dial. I found this out wheb i tried using just 1 button and it wouldn't always work Disabling the lock would make it simpler i guess!

    does the ericson need a sim

  • @RogueElectron
    @RogueElectron  11 років тому

    This device turns "hardware" input into a phonecall. Not a phonecall into a "hardware" output which is what could be used to remotely control devices. Therefore this device cannot be used to make a bomb. Thanks

    Hello -How do you set up which number you want it to call

    • @RogueElectron
      @RogueElectron  10 років тому

      Hi, If you go into the phone: menu, Phonebook, Speed dial. Then assign a phone number to the same number that you have the wire connected to on the keypad.
      this makes the dialling sequence much quicker than having the arduino type the entire number.
      Thanks :-)

    Or buy a professional one in 2G or 3G with Web and App set up and a 3 year warranty... unless you like hacking stuff to see what will happen... GSM alarm diallers require reliability IMO.

      @MyronPTheodolite 5 років тому

      £15 verses the £160 - £300 you are charging for a “professional” 3G one. And why is his any less reliable?
