This is another one of the smooth crooners from the 40's-70's. He sold millions of records & pioneered a weekly musical variety television show. He received numerous awards for his music.

This song was written by the great Don Mclean. His most famous songs are 'American Pie' and 'Vincent'. I really like this one because of the unusual (ABBA) rhyme scheme in the lyrics. Perry does a real nice job. There is also a great live version by Elvis.

Also by Don Mc Clean, pleade listen to Castles in the Air about a man who asks his friend to finish a relationship for him as he can't tell her himself it sounds cruel but the lyrics are sublime 👌
