I remember all the songs you mentioned and the Delaware song (I can't remember if that's it's proper name but it managed to fit lots of US states into the song like "What did Della wear, she wore a brand New Jersey). I loved it.

No, he'll never be really forgotten .. He has too big a legacy of his music for that to ever happen .. But yes, sadly he and many other great singers of previous eras will not be anywhere near as well known to younger generations of music followers as they were in their heyday .. They deserve to be.

He was a real family man who had a family compound in which his children and their spouses lived in homes as well as he and his wife.

Always loved the Perry Como Christmas Specials on TV when I was a kid in the 1950s and 60s. Watching them was a yearly tradition in our family.
He was always a personal favorite of mine, and it never felt like Christmas until we saw a Perry Como Christmas special.

Como learned his style by studying Bing Crosby, but I think he far surpassed Crosby. (And Crosby got his style from Rudy Vallee.)
