Change is constant. Period!!!! No point in pondering over chatgpt or AI. I'm already at home doing nothing and feeling unwanted by my married children, i can't blame them as they have their kids and very challenging time. So am I contended for seeing a world without telephone, tv and internet, listening to old hindi songs and visiting friends and relatives? Maybe yes. I still miss my humble radio and old times spent in leisure.

I am reading the book "RULE OF THE ROBOTS: HOW ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE WILL TRANSFORM EVERYTHING" by MARTIN FORD. The book is mind blowing. Computer Scientists have been working on AI for last 60 years. They want to emulate biological neural networks of human mind for creating AI. AI reached now stage where it can be adopted on broader scale. AI recieved lot of boost when Data moved to cloud computing when Data aggregation happened in huge scale. As cloud computing deepens AI would expand widely. Henceforth, we should read more of AI as it is going to be huge GAMECHANGER like ELECTICITY.
Get ready to witness one of the cruel and dark era of man kind. It's going to be a Survival test for us especially for middle and poor.

@RGV please watch Ex Machina - a 2014 film, discussed the same point in 2014 itself, that if AI gets consciousness and more intelligence what will be the situation.. beautifully written futuristic film.
It took a while but RGV finally woke up from his mafia slumber to robots and AI. A concept that goes back at least to 1920 (the play R.U.R by Karel Čapek) if not earlier. Hollywood has been preparing us for this since many decades. As far as I know RGV has never mentioned classics like 2001, Blade Runner and Terminator that grappled with themes of robots and AI, although these films hail from the same timeframe as Godfather and Exorcist that RGV _has_ cited as influences. Strange, and it may explain why ChatGPT came as such a shock to RGV.
More than an assessment of AI, this is interesting as a snapshot of RGV's mind currently. The main takeaway is he thinks ChatGPT makes him redundant because he has always strongly identified with his rational side and his analytical abilities while minimizing or dismissing emotions. Now you have AI that is even more rational and has zero emotions. But I am guessing the average person will not see it the way RGV does. ChatGPT is not going to feel my feelings for me - the aroma of a biryani, the sight of a still lake, flirting with the opposite sex and so on and so forth - all the varied experiences that make up life. RGV just happens to be uniquely placed to be displaced by AI.
Coming to the somewhat hyperbolic statements RGV makes on what ChatGPT portends for the future:
1. Firstly, ChatGPT hallucinates a great deal - that is it makes up stuff, and none of its factual responses can be trusted. This is a limitation of the current state of the art, but people (for example AI21's MRKL system and perhaps others in stealth-mode) are working on it.
2. RGV thinks ChatGPT has nothing to say about current events because it's been deliberately designed to steer clear of them. The truth is the LLM (large language model) is trained once and then only responds from that frozen state of knowledge. It does not dynamically consume new information and keep updating its own configuration. This is again a limitation that will evolve over the next few years.
3. Most experts in any domain are usually dissatisfied with ChatGPT's responses in their domain, so I am surprised to see RGV claims to be impressed with its script suggestions and inputs. Personally I think he's exaggerating, but I may change my mind once I see more of ChatGPT's transcripts.
4. I think RGV's more outlandish fears and speculations apply to the (perhaps mythical) concept of AGI - Artificial General Intelligence - rather than ChatGPT. Ever since computers were invented, this concept of an artificial intelligence that would possess the scope, flexibility and generality of the human mind has been simmering in the heads of science fiction writers, computer scientists and philosophers. Eventually it turned into the project to create AI and more recently AGI. While ChatGPT has absolutely conquered language and syntax (its one true advance in my opinion), its verbose responses show a poor grasp of meaning.

@@RajKusar-rz2mf It's not leniency, just being tentative since there has not been enough time since the advent of ChatGPT to explore every facet. The whole world is playing with it as we speak, we will know more in a few months. I suspect once RGV recovers his composure he will announce a ChatGPT-scripted film, then we can judge how good it is at creative tasks.
Verbose? Just ask it to shorten it's responses and it will, i made chat gpt write a javascript program, it gave me a lengthy version, i asked it to shorten it, it worked, anything is possible with AI, it is already looking very sophisticated, just imagine the level of sophistication after 10 years
Listen how easily and comfortable RGV English Language and yours by giving synonyms for a word to say you are also good in English.

He is 100% correct because he used word sentient if he doesn't use it is wrong because if a machine has vast knowledge and structuring knowledge which is intelligence it becomes getting from error stage to nearly perfection it may take time but it becomes superior. If you take example of a scientist and sentient machine in comparison machine has vast knowledge than a scientist and more rational and more variable parameters to think than a scientist so we will become irrelevant in terms of that.
