Same here as others have said about the Top Toolbar. I'll use it because it's in a fixed position and doesn't move about or get in the way as you're building pages.
I like too toolbar in some scenarios. Large sites I definitely use the parent page settings. Navigation should be a whole conversation and video! I’m very passionate about how this could be way better as a tool.
There’s been a fundamental shift in the way I think of the dashboard now…. 🙂 I do use the dashboard from time to time when I’m setting up a new site, changing themes, or adding users.
I always use Page Attributes, because I think it's essential to keep them in order within the site. Not only so that I can easily find them when I need to edit any of them, but also so that the Client can find them easily, when he has access to the Site Administration. Logically, he expects to find them in the same order as the site's Navigation Menu. So this makes my life and his easier. I agree that the Privacy Page as a kind of model is valid. But not everyone uses it and not all sites need it. If I am creating a Landing Page, I will certainly delete the template. Regarding Preferences, which are the resources that customize the Site Editor, I completely agree that they should be more accessible. For experienced users they may be intuitive. But for new users, they end up being hidden and often unused.
WP prides itself on being backwards (compatible), so the bloat keeps on growing. It wouldn't be difficult to extend this 'edge case' feature list to 100, perhaps 1000.

Yea, I find myself warming up to it more and more. Almost feels like it should have been the default mode 🤷♀️

I never use any of these and didn't know the preferences option even existed!

awesome to hear about how you use page attributes.
Page attributes can go now! Never have, never will.

I think the select/exit block drop-down will be used for content only editing and zoomed-out view.
