    That looks like a nice piece of kit. Thanks for the reminder to fit protection items to new bikes early too ;)

    Gees Curtis, I thought you actually broke the Strom! You’re absolutely right, the plastic guard won’t do shit if you’re doing what you’ve done👌 Ripped off pricing in Aus, but you need this for anything out there out bush. I reckon the SRC will spread the impacts rather than re-bend the cradle in the same area though the spacers if they are not a large diameter might still send the impacts where they are.
    As you suggested, silicone the spacers on the cradle rather than the bash plate. Use a spare bolt to hole it when drying. If you silicone them to the bash plate, the holes may be bigger to allow movement. If they’re on the cradle, the threads don’t move unless the cradle is completely bent & buckled.
    Keep it up👌

      Cheers mate. Hoping it spreads the load too. Should do the job

    Now you can slip in a frozen Four & Twenty Pie from Woolies and have lunch on the run.

    I'm shocked, you bent it. 😁 A dab of silicon or "Shoe glue" will hod stuff in place for fitting

      Great idea. It looks like when I do an oil change it will need to come off so I'll do that then

    Glue those spacers onto the bash plate. Remember you need to remove that thing for every oil change…. I think…

    • @onthebackwheel
      @onthebackwheel  7 місяців тому +1

      Good idea. Might even silicone it on the next oil change. Yet to do a change so not 💯 on if the plate comes off, but wouldn't doubt it

    Nice mate! I had that same problem with a much lighter GIVI plate on my 650, such a bastard haha Great looking bashplate! Love Aussie quality.

    That looks like a neat item. A shame you managed to bend the cradle before fitting it, but your other videos showed how that happened! Not sure that SRC are Australian(?) as someone suggested below, but that has to be stronger than the plastic item. No reference to the aluminium thickness (4mm, 5mm?) nor the weight of the plate; info which might be worth adding after the next oil change. You might have to remove the cradle and straighten it better (which might need a fair bit of putting the cradle on and off to get right) as the long bolt may not be bottoming against the spacer and bracket, and may come loose like that.
    I hope the bash-plate proves to be up to the tough use you put that poor bike through! 🙃

    • @onthebackwheel
      @onthebackwheel  6 місяців тому

      Haha me too mate. The plate is 4mm aluminium. They are a Thai company but have a supplier in Aus who's great to deal with. The long bolt fits great, the bolt continues all the way through so it pulls it nice and snug

    Mate this is the reason iv only done 70kms on mine I'm waiting to get all this stuff in the new year I have also asked staintune to show me a higher tail pipe on Facebook they said they are dealing with suzuki Australia to come up with 2 types looking forward to see what they come up mate I'm unsure what tyers to run d606 605 or parili or golden tyers I'm leaning more to 606 as I live in Batemans bay nsw we have a lot of good riding country here

    • @onthebackwheel
      @onthebackwheel  7 місяців тому

      I'm waiting to see their pipe too, be good to throw an Aussie one on. Mate you won't fit a 606 or the likes,, the rim is too wide. You'll need to run something like I am or a Motoz

    How’s the plate held up?
    I just got the Transalp src plate and lower bars. The plate has some large openings in the bottom that make me wonder about protection for bigger hits.
