Custom Yerfdog 3200 780 CVT Upgrade

- Today we get an old classic back in the shop for some much needed upgrades. We modified this Yerfdog 3200 with independent front suspension, semi independent rear suspension, custom roll cage, and added a 625cc engine. In this video we add a gearing jackshaft and a 780 cvt setup from go power sports. We also fix a broken steering rack.

Love this. Been thinking about putting a bike engine in a yerf dog. I love you used this setup. It's how somebody building it over time on a budget would do it.

A locking collar is what Chris from Rather B Welding did for his steering rack on one of his projects if I'm not mistaken.

the yerf dog was one of my all-time favorite build you ever did I was only ever unhappy with the rear end maybe a little bit of the upper cage could be modified and you know stylistic cues but as usual you deliver badass so I can't wait to see what else happens with it

If you use a four jaw chuck in the lathe, you can dial in the rack to run concentric.

Contemplating a flywheel from a yard tractor mounted on the axle with it's started solenoid mounted to the frame for a push button reverse. Would do away with the reverse gearbox

I'm sure it's not the ideal situation but I've wanted to try this for a cheap reverse. If geared properly an old Ford starter motor rigged up to engage on a ring gear or even a sprocket. For a quick little back up should work ok.
I would like to see more detail on how you take your measurements.
And determine your mounting points

It looks like the steering still needs some more adjustments but it's still an awesome build. Have you thought about making a dually cart? I think that would be quite the spectacle.

Cvt almost snagged that strap hanging
The strap is a 4point harness that red didn't put on when he drove it when it's in use it doesn't hang down I use it every time I ride it

Why is the motor mounted on the swing arm on most carts? Why not mount the motor to the chassis separate from the swingarm like a motorcycle? Maybe this would help with carburetor problems. With the motor mounted on the swing arm assembly it gets a ton more vibration.
The kart is 8 1/2 feet in length if the engine was between the seat and the swing arm it would add 2 or 3 feet to the length
Does that engine have a pressurized oil system or is there a dipper on the rod?
It is pressurized and has a oil filter

DOES THE DRIVEN PULLEY HAVE TO BE TURNED AROUND LIKE THAT TO KEEP BELT ALIGNMENT OR WAS THAT JUST FOR THAT PARTICULAR APPLICATION
