A lot of the issues with cohesive story and arcs and overlying villains came from the way the show was ordered and paced. Only one season was guaranteed at a time (though I think they got season 4 soonest after season 3 was being made, and they had no idea when the last season would be or what would happen. It got taken off the air mid-way through season 3 and only premiered online. Season 4 came out randomly a few weeks after season 3 ended with almost no fanfare or announcement. If they knew from the beginning they would have 4 seasons I think it could’ve been a really well made story overall!
They spent every season not knowing if they'd get another. That's why Oman randomly went Boom. Vaatu was supposed to be the embodiment of evil, not chaos but he's just a nothing kite. ironically, anarchy is a nothing philosophy that just brings chaos so unlike the other two, Zaheer doesn't bring any net positive to the world (except giving the avatar ptsd) And Kuvira was a giant robot.. I liked Korra's narrative a lot more. Another avatar learning the three elements again would've been boring. It's pretty great on paper but every character in ATLA's is sooo likeable
The Series was unnecessary. I'll admit I liked the First season Especially when the Main Villain is Voiced by Steve Blum but after that I decided to end it like that.
I clicked on this video to listen to in the background. Color me surprised when I checked my phone near the end, and it had 500 views. Just based on the voiceover I had thought I’d clicked on a video from some massive channel. Strong work and best of luck!
Asami was conceived as a false romantic lead in the way of Mako and Korra, and once she served that purpose, the writers (although they liked her enough to keep her around) didn't know what to do with her.

Yeah I’ve heard about the online airing issues, it’s too bad the production got screwed over in a lot of ways :(

Korra’s narrative had a lot of potential if they were able to connect the seasons more, too bad they never knew how many seasons they would get

Rip, they had the start of an interesting arc in book one if they had explored it a bit further
Very flawed video
