Don’t agree - it’s true that intelligence is almost impossible to quantify and there are different ways to determine someone’s intelligence. Being exceptional with numbers and code is not the be all and end all of intelligence - for instance, this guy might be really bad at understanding art or abstract concepts - he might not be as emotionally intelligent, though he does speak well with strangers. Intelligence isn’t just about numbers and quantitative data.

But as he said, he is a professor of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at the University of WInnipeg and the University of Tokyo. So evidently, he is passionate about these topics, and I wouldn't be surprised if he believes the AI will play a greater and greater role in our lives in years to come, even if he believes that the stereotypical, physical robots you see in the movies will not be commonplace in the future.

Is it real awareness or simulated awareness, we as human even, haven't understand how awareness and consciousness emerged. Plus if an AI ever go "aware" they can't destroy the world, one thing AI lacked is relevance realization, they can pickup the information for solving a problem, but without human pointing out the relevant information they will run a large amount of processing power, which will guarantee them to slow down or possibly have an error if the data is too big.
