It happened more due to the director & film's script then him to be honest. Hirani wanted young Ranbir Kapoor but ended up casting an 40+ Khan who still did a decent job.To his credit Aamir Khan is the best actor amongst all 3 Khan's & was lucky/smart to work with good directors who came to him with good scripts.

I was in class 4 when a few students from our class was selected to dance to this song. I wanted to be in, but no one took me as I was the typical 'tomboy'ish girl. No one could think me to be in a skirt and be all decked up. Years later did a lot of dance performances but this still remains a dream. :3
