Thanks for sharing. Looks similar to a Sand pear but not as hard. I purchased mine a few years back from another state. Growing zones on tag wasn't compatible in my zone but I bought it anyway. I got a few bumper crops though. Glad to know these do well in FL. Fingers crossed.😊
Thanks for sharing. I planted one of these in the Spring but know nothing about them. They look delicious. Any issues with aphids, let miners, or fungus?
Good catch lol
#28th Gardening Friend from Central FL Grow zone 9B. 🙂
We just ate our first one today. We have saved the seeds and
are going to try to grow some trees ourselves. Thank you very much for your video.
You're welcome. Best of luck!

Thanks for sharing! Let me know how it goes this season!
I just purchased my pineapple pear tree. So looking forward to harvest like you do. Happy Thanksgiving!!
They are great trees. I planted a couple to pollinate other pears and the pineapple pears do the best.
I am glad to hear that! I wish you all the best with the other trees!
Thank you great video
Thank you!

When I planted it, I didn't know anything about it either. After planting it, I just watered it and surprisingly, I haven't had any issues with bugs.
Please describe the taste. Thanks
It has a slight taste of pineapple and some kind of citrus. The flesh is crispy and sweet, it’s a joy to eat!
Looks like the tree needs a good pruning.
I agree! They do. I just have not gotten to it yet.
Hello Can this grow in West African hot climate? Tank u
@fredgibbs The pineapple pear tree does great in zone 5-9, I'm not sure how it will do in West Africa.
What zone can this tree grow??
The Department of Agriculture is saying zone 4 to 9.
Is this grafted ?
I'm not sure, we bought it at a plant show.
