the 4th arrondissement contains the Renaissance-era Paris City Hall, rebuilt between 1874 and 1882. It also contains the Renaissance square of Place des Vosges, the overtly modern Pompidou Centre, and the lively southern part of the medieval district of Le Marais, which today is known for being the gay district of Paris. (The quieter northern part of Le Marais is within the 3rd arrondissement). The eastern parts of the Île de la Cité (including Notre-Dame de Paris) as well as the Île Saint-Louis are also included within the 4th arrondissement.
The 4th arrondissement is known for its little streets, cafés, and shops but is often regarded by Parisians as expensive and congested.It is desirable for those wanting old buildings and a mix of many cultures.

That’s it, I’m now convinced. For about five years I’ve been gazing across the pond in my imagination 💭, contemplating a move from NY to France. Now that NYC has become a thug life D-movie horror show, next year, if I survive this one, I’ll be on my way to the pinnacle of civilization featured in this delightful walking tour. Seriously, look at this... no ugly skyscrapers blocking the sun and airflow, no toppling cranes, speeding cars running people over, walkers harassed by maniacs, gunfire erupting, smelly garbage all over the streets, etc, etc... instead, they have a culture of peace and community. Yep, I’m ready now. I’ve always loved America, and still do, but loving someone or something doesn’t prevent it from turning bad, and when it does, you have to see it for what it is and has become, versus what it once was.

I have walked in these streets in the month of January, 15 yrs ago, in -13 C. Its still amazing in the hot summers, peaceful, no ugly pollitong traffic. Lovely video. Thanks from Pakistan.
