    I think ang purpose ng remote start is to start the car way before you plan on getting in, not right before na tipong nakaabang na yung family sa door. The use case is to cool the cabin via the AC even before anyone gets inside e.
    Appreciate the info!

    Personally the auto parking is helpful for some individual including me. E.g in mall that has tight parking lots considering the lot is also full, this auto parking is what it is for.

    Yung letter P sa console sir electronic hand brake siya ginagamit siya sa stop and go na traffic para hindi na kailangang pang gumamit ng shifter sa letter D kundi step the brake and release na lang.

      Thanks for sharing po. So the one on the shifter moves to park and then does the hand break while the one beside the auto hold just does the hand break and leaves on current gear? Why would you use this over the auto-hold po?

    Sir dapat mag parts availability review kayo. Kasi ako sa okavango ko nabangga nung december. Up until now wala parin ako radiator, headlights, bumper, at yung para sa hybrid battery na pieza lahat oder pa at intay pa 1 to 2 weeks daw. Hanggang ngayon wala pa at baka abutan pako ng chinese new year p*ta lang talaga mga chinese cars nadali ako... JAPANESE parin po talaga...

    • @ORIDEMEDIA
      @ORIDEMEDIA  3 роки тому +132

      Hi Peter, great idea po.
      This is a long one bro so you might want to get something to drink.
      Just so happen I was at Geely Alabang yesterday -- we were talking about plans on reviewing the Okavango and Azkarra.
      Sakto I saw this and asked him upfront. He said that your car's damage seems like a big one and 1-2 weeks daw might be a bit too quick for a repair of that size. Even in my personal experience po I think that much of repairs can take up to 4 weeks unless salpak lang and walang structural damages (outright replacement lang)
      Here's the truth po about Geely parts, I don't know which ones they keep on stock and isa yan probably sa mga aalamin ko with my visit to Makati next month -- pero, I know that for the parts that we don't have on stock, oorderin pa sa China yun and if you've owned a DSLR na nasira, you know that can take months as well to replace.
      The long term solution talaga for this is either Geely overstocks on parts and supplies (say for every 10 units they order 1 whole car for parts lang) but that's quickly not going to be a sound business investment on their end kasi they would be spending a lot of money paying real estate for storage.
      The other practical solution is for local parts suppliers to recognize the market for Geely cars and start adding them to their inventory. This is the part where we can start comparing Geely to more established brands kasi it's repairable by more people not just the casas. The only problem is, this will take a lot of time to convince mechanics to learn how to reliably repair these new cars (they'd probably need european training and those mechanics can be very expensive) and parts supplier sees the demand by mechanics or car enthusiasts for spare parts.
      This is a problem with all makes of cars, even with toyota with their fringe units like Prius or supra.
      So, what happens now? I suggest that we just have to accept taking in the hard pill
      1. have your vehicle taken to casa and leave it there
      2. ask for a loaner car
      3. check on your agent and their manager weekly
      4. communicate with them if the issue is logistics, stock availability, diagnostics, quality assurance, etc.
      5. accept that you may be stuck with your loaner car for a while
      What do you get out of this approach? We'll you still have a car you can use and it lessens the burden of repairs and you might even want to vlog your experience and position it as a way to educate and inform car brands of what their customers expects from them and how they can keep their business.
      I hope this helps, I'll make a follow up content on this and thanks for watching

    • @PeterTanization
      @PeterTanization 2 роки тому +14

      @ORIDE MEDIA all the points you made are valid. And yes any make would take time to repair especially if the damage is major but comparing it to the established models, kung pabilisan lang ng pag repair then id bet my bottom dollar with them. Im no sinophobic pero thing is they target the middle to low income earners. Hard earned money. Thank you that you understand where im coming from. :)

    • @ORIDEMEDIA
      @ORIDEMEDIA  2 роки тому +4

      That's true. I hope my talks with them and some plans for the brand can help some owners get more peace of mind. I hope you get your Okavango back soon and on the road. Hassle po talaga yan kaya I really don't understand why more younger brands offer a simple loaner than an outright longer warranty or guarantee

    The P lever above the A is for the "hand brake" while the P button on the shift lever is to place the transmission on Park mode, which in GCR's case also engages the electronic hand brake automatically. They have to be separate so we can switch the transmission to Drive or Reverse while the EHB is still engaged, like on an incline for example. It is also another safety mechanism to prevent accidents in and out of garages and parking areas.

    Hi! Just a soft reaction to your comparison of fuel cons with picanto. In my opinion, you really must not compare which of them is more fuel efficient or tipid. I’m sure there’s a lot of reasons why but here’s a couple of what I know of. 1, fuel tanks are not the same qty therefore each bar on the fuel gauge measures different qty of liters of fuel. You really cannot say that if in the same distance travelled of both cars, the picanto’s fuel gauge would read nabawas ng 3/4 while 1 bar lang sa geely then mas tipid si Geely… I cannot agree to that po. 2, their Engine size or HP are also not the same therefore they really have different fuel consumption requirements. This is just my opinion on that but Please continue vlogging about your Geely experience. Really helps a lot. Keep safe!

    • @ORIDEMEDIA
      @ORIDEMEDIA  2 роки тому +2

      Thank you for your input. Super helpful. I agree they are not the same. The comparison is really on the cost of use more than anything else. At the end of the day, I'd like to save on fuel and it was a nice surprise that d naman pala gaanong ngkakalayo ang picanto ko sa Coolray. Picanto and adventure kasi dama ko difference :)

    Ang pagkakaalam ko po iba ung P sa shifter at ung P na parking brake, ung sa shifter knob ilolock nia ung transmission mo pra di ka gumalaw while ung P sa tabi ng auto hold sya ung electronic handbrake naman sya ung hand brake n mglolock sa rear wheels mo if im not mistaken, Nagmumukha lang syang magkapareho kasi kay Geely automatic nia ineengage ung electronic parking brake mo once ng shift ka to Park gear, which is an added safety i think sa karamihan kasi sa cars na equipped with electronic parking brake need mo pa na itoggle seperately ung parking brake kahit naka P gear kna which is may tendency makalimutan mo lalo na if ngmamadali ka so if nagpark ka sa sobrang stiff area may tendency na gumalaw sasakyan mo and heaven forbid mg roll. And iwas din sa premature wear and tear kasi di magandang plaging ung gear mo ang hohold sa sasakyan, trabaho ung ng brakes. If you ask me i think that feature is really nice and minsan while waiting pwde ka rin mg shift sa neutral tapos itoggle mo ung electronic brake (if ayaw gamitin auto hold). If ma try mo man ibang asakyan na hindi sabay ung P gear at Electronic brake mapapansin mo if magpark ka sa uphill or downhill at una mong shinift to P gear bago mo itoggle electronic brake mararamdaman mo na ung sasakyan is hinohold nia sarili nia and once na na itinoggle mo na electronic parking brake may retching sound na mangyayari na prang gagaan bigla ung sasakyan medyo kakaiba ung feeling. Kaya ako inugalian ko na always engage parking brake bago mg shift to Park. Sorry dami ko sinabi just my 2 cents
    Thank you

      I love your explenation po. Thank you for that. Looking back po on the indicators, I realized that I failed to notice a difference po sa mismong logo nila
      Shifter: P
      Knob: (P)
      This means nga na the shifter goes on park then instinctively activates the handbreak. The dedicated knob naman activates the handbreak (im assuming if naka stop it'd go to neutral kasi I know if running it will slow down the car to a stop)
      I think for me, what would make more sense (coming from an older car) is
      Shifter: [has dedicated P indicator above the R, no auto hand break -- but this makes little to no sense for me]
      Shifter: (P) - to indicate park and then hand break
      Knob: (!) - to indicate hand break only as that's how hand breaks usually show up on the instrument cluster indicator
      That's just me. Thanks for watching

A friend does this and shows error in the instr cluster, just like deflating the wheel while the engine is on. Its showing an abnormal state because the sensors react doing not normal things.

    Great video. Detailed and comprehensive. On the electronic parking break vs the P in your transmission, here's the difference:
    "When you drive an automatic car, don’t confuse the handbrake with putting the gearbox in P for Park. While some new cars will automatically apply the handbrake if the gear lever is in P and the engine is switched off, it’s a different mechanism. The brakes of the handbrake are applied to the rear wheels, whereas putting the gearbox in P locks the output shaft of the transmission by using a parking pawl to stop it rotating."
    From your video, looks like Coolray is doing what's described in the second sentence - automatic nyang snset yung electronic parking brake when you set the gearbox to P. Actually with that, and with the auto-hold, halos pwede mo nang hindi gamitin yung button ng electronic parking brake. I'm sure nilagay na lang yan to cater for different driving styles.

And yeah, Im happy to hear about programming conditional statements, I guess you are a software engineer by profession like me. And congrats to the detailed review, napaka detalyado talaga.

    Could be the P for the gear selector is dedicated for engaging the transmission into park gear while the parking button could be something that the traditional handbreak do (locking the rear wheel) while the transmission could be in neutral. But yeah, its redundant.

    Much wiser to wait for at least a decade before buying cars from new car companies. The features are awesome and more affordable than other brands but once you get a car accident and your car needs parts to replace, its hell. Not really worth it for me. Still buy from car companies like Toyota, Ford, and other car companies that have been selling cars for decades now.

      If we are really responsible buyers, we would also consider that personal experience is not worth much. Someone might get lucky when it comes to repairs and end up having an overly positive impression of a brand. We really need stastitical knowledge. When I can go to a mechanic and ask them about a car model's repairability, then peoplr can start talking about a car's for real. Mechanics would over long-time exposure learn whether a certain is more likely to break and which parts are affected, would learn how easy parts are to get, and how easy it is to repair. All of these things are extremely important and create a reputation.
      Then, we can consider how stable and experienced a company is. Have they proven to reliably deliver for decades? Does the company continue to work well even when scaled up to greater distribution? Can they handle hand-offs to new generations of executives? Are they financially sound?
      China itself has an extremely volatile economy. The car company could be doing everything right and still be ruined by some stupid government decisions. Look what happened to Alibaba!
      Buying a car is a big decision. It's not just a high-value item but it will also recirculate in the market for 20+ yrs. If a car can't be expected to be viable that long, then it needs to be considered in the computation.
      Other foreign brands might get you less features for the money, but they will be worth more.

Sa auto-hold po kasi when you tap on the brakes once, you can take your foot off and naka hold ka na. That does not happen on reverse so medyo iba ang driver experience :)

Time will tell how good these new Chinese cars are though I am optimistic as my first bought car was a kia PICANTO back when kia was just coming back from its pride days
      Thanks for watching

      @@ORIDEMEDIA For what it's worth, newer cars nowadays should last. The only thing that would be an issue is parts availability, but I am pretty sure Geely has a great after purchase customer service since they are trying to make a name (which they are currently doing with flying colors). Goodluck and great videos!

      Tama po. I spoke with Geely and they sound sincere that they are in it for the long run talaga. I hope they are able to break through the market and really shatter the current stigma against Chinese cars

      Great car. My concern is it has too many electronics. Hopefully, the 24v and battery systems will be reliable enough.
