I still have a yamaha dtxpress 4 and just had this problem in December 2023 it just shows your fix is still working brother! The sensor was fine but the foam inside was just like yours! I used a table leg round pad which was self adhesive and fitted the hole perfectly! Still love the yamaha kit with rubber pads, real tough cookie! Thanks man........Dave
Hi, I tried the double sided tape, but didn't work. What kind of glue do you use and how do you stick it? Anyway, maybe the sensor is not OK. Even when I touch it with my hand it does not sound strong enough. Thank you!
The sensor was ok. The double stick tape that held the sensor in place just dried out. The sensor eventually started to fail, so I just upgraded to a new trigger pad.

If anyone reads this, DON'T over-glue and keep it in the middle of the trigger not the edges. Or use double sided tape. I have repaired a few.

Great video! Thanks for saving me the time and money!
keep it simple, piezo's only need double sided carpet tape to the plate, job done
Cool fix!! Nice DIY video. Thanks for the video.
Louisiana Aquaponics: If I can fix something. I do. 😁
I hear that. Why pay somebody else to what I can do. lol
Thanks 🙏🏽
Cool vid bud ill try a bit of extra foam in mine as its a bit iffy
I’m sure the epoxy you used is a lot better then factory.
Thank You \m/
My sensor doesn’t seem to have come off, but the pedal still isn’t working. Is there anything else I can try?
Could be the sensor is bad, or a wire on the jack came off. Mine eventually faild again and I just upgraded to the Roland KD- 9 kick pad.
Where did yo get the sensor replacement part?
