- First 30 minutes of a 45 minute set although Yngwie played in the first song "Foreplay" and on encore "Highway Star" on The Guitar Gods 2016 tour that included STEVE VAI, ZAKK WYLDE, NUNO BETTENCOURT a 3,5 hour Show
I went to this show with my dad when it was in Madison. Yngwie is my dad's favorite guitarist and he had tears in his eyes when Yngwie came out on stage. My ears were ringing for hours after that show but it was still the best concert I've ever been to. Yngwie is truly a legend. Rock on!
There is couple of things I just can't put my head around how he does it. First of all, I was able to play really fast younger but never did I get that tilulilulilu sound he does. Second, how can he play so precisely with those fingers! :D My fingers are like sausages from time to time because of arthritis and I can't play even E-minor then.
He is truly one of the greatest. He is in that league with Paul Gilbert and Guthrie Govan where you don't have to put them into any particular order. They just .. are.
@@weicco watch Itzhak Perlman play the violin, and it'll make slightly more sense. He was told his fingers were too big to play the violin, so ... like Naruto, he practiced until he was the best.
Simply brilliant! Don't understand the haters saying he should slow down. I guess some people just don't appreciate exceptional playing.
He sounds much much better than a few years ago. He was almost getting to the point of being sloppy there for a while.
Looks like he's lost quite a bit of weight too.

it just hit me...Yngwie is the Elvis of Guitar. he is not JUST a guitar player. he is not just a musician. he is an entertainer. he likes to put on a show. he loves the theatrics of his show just as he enjoys the crowd screaming for him. he loves throwing picks. he loves the attention. he has a fun time, loves his music, loves the fans loving him. and... he loves his side-burns and showing off his hairy chest and flashy rockstar clothes and jewelry. i can soooo see him rocking the Elvis jumpsuit! not to mention, Yngwie IS the KING of Guitar! KEEP ROCKIN!!!!

Often imitated never duplicated. Yngwie Malmsteen I think its funny when people complain that he over plays. I can only imagine what kind of comments would have been made about Paganini if UA-cam was around then.

I still dig him. Gotta love how he never changed or gave into fads. I'm so tired of those licks but back in teh day, I learned all those licks he still keeps playing, and thanks to him for giving us those and that sweep style that he made so prominent. A lot like Eddie did for the tapping thing. They didn't invent the techniques, but made it very popular.
I will always greatly respect yngwie malmsteen he was without question one of the best rock players ever to play the guitar but when I see him now I still wish he played like he did in the days of Alcatraz obviously that's a high and Tall order to continue but he's still my main man as far as playing goes just needs to relax man

Panasonic DMC-ZS20 all my youtube clips have been recorded with the same camera sometimes the sound has been very loud or i have been next to the loudspeaker and still the sound is great
+S Juhal yes sounds awesome they allowed you to bring that camera in there?
its not a big traditional camera with an object attached to it but a pocket camera; nobody cares anymore about taping the shows or bringing a camera in. Anybody can record even with their cell phones nowadays. There's nothing to worry about.

It's not 'young Yngwie' standard but, here, he seems to be playing better than he has done for years. This FBTS performance is great. I've generally been enjoying the recordings made of this tour.
Still, his old picking remains much nicer than the more 'freeform' soloing style of the last 20-ish years. The ingenuity and drama of his note choices and timing have diminished - a pun... - a lot, also. I guess it can't be helped, but I'd love to see him regain some of the accuracy he once had (even post-accident).

one thing that truly has not gone away is that monstrous vibrato...so thick, wet, and juicy.
He is also playing faster than the recordings... awesome playing. After the accident he also changed different parts of equipment that seemed to change his tone. I would like to see him go back to his original set up BUT still amazing playing

He goes through quite a lot of picks during his set. I wonder if it part of the act, or whether he really wear them down that quick.

he wears them down I know exactly what picks he uses those pics have a very tiny tiny fine Razor Edge even though they're 1.5 millimeters it's almost like it's a defect of the mold and when that little tiny Edge that's too get dull which happens pretty quickly he tosses the pick out.. I remember him live one time physically stare at the top of his pic right before he threw it away that's when I knew he was wearing them out
