I remember sitting and watching Lahaina burn while listening to the radio. We had lost all communications, they had no clue we were burning. Just cheerful music 😅
I’m flying into Kona this Saturday and heading over to Hilo to stay until 27, then back to Kona until 31. I fully expected to get wet out of and in the ocean but is hiking completely out of the question, or will some trails still be walkable? I also very much wanted to visit VNP and Mauna Kea summit. Am I going to be bitterly disappointed? Can I still explore? Snorkeling?, will the water be too sandy? Please can someone give me hope!
the chain of craters road in vnp is closed because the recent earthquakes caused cracks; good hiking though if its not raining because its all rock and mud really isnt a thing on some trails. ask the rangers. itll be windy on mauna kea, more than usual but you cant take your rental car up there anyway. stay out of the ocean because sharks hang out near river mouths after a storm to eat thingies that wash down. go to akaka falls its all paved with rails and with the rain it should be spectacular if a bit rainy. ditto rainbow falls. spend lots of money, we need it.
I live in Hawaii. We know what time of year it is. I watched the clip because I thought a tropical storm was coming. False advertising don’t lose your ticket….. FOB
It was never America ... It was hijacked by Deep State before it's Constitution signatures were dry ... it has been an Imperial Oligarch CIA Colonial mobster US Corporation run operation.

A battery-powered radio and batteries can sure be a comfort.

The ocean temperatures are warm enough to maintain a storm
