None of this really matter as we are all human beings, NZ was never a "country" before Europeans it was various lands occupied by often waring Maori tribes. Hell even the Treaty of Waitangi was not actually signed by all tribes, at some point we need to celebrate the past but move on.

I'm a Kiwi. Thank you for the kind words. Hopefully we can hold onto our culture for a little while yet. I think our friendliness and our willingness to see the humanity in everyone is one of our strongest suits. I'm reminded of a story where a wife in a small family talked about how they cried when they got to New Zealand because when the customs official asked them how long they intended to stay in NZ for. And the wife said nervously that they were actually emigrating to country. The customs official smiled up at them and said "Oh! Welcome home." I think about that and how it must give so many nervous expats so much hope that they're going to be ok here, once they blend into our way of life and see how we operate.
Kyle, I absolutely agree with you. I lived in Auckland for about 22 years before moving to Australia 2 years ago. OMG, I can't tell you how much I miss NZ, I miss kiwi food, my kiwi mates, my kiwi neighborhood & I miss breathtaking stunning views, I miss everything 😢😢 Here, in OZ, people are quite standoffish, they keep it to themselves, here neighborhood is like graveyard, nobody talks to one another where as in NZ, even a stranger smiles at you & you can just strike up a conversation with a stranger & you feel like you know them for very long time. I miss it so much. 😢😢
Another great thing is that no matter what part you live in, most things are just a drive away. Stunning beaches, rivers, city’s, mountains to tramp or ski on, vast farmland, huge malls. And alot of other things so whatever you like to do is just a drive away. Love my country ❤ 🇳🇿
Thank you Jo! You're absolutely right, we definitely have some lovely scenery in the UK too, but some stark differences. Mountains here being one of the main points of difference for sure!

Wow mate, couldn't tell these were your first videos at all, you're a natural! I just spent 7 months travelling around the North Island, here were the most memorable fish and chips in case you end up in these towns: Ngawi, not too far from Wellington but a bit off the beaten track, had a caravan called the Captain's Table. Very unique part of NZ, amazing fish and chips! The Wharf Cafe in Thames was sensational, and as a bonus has battered mussels scallops and oysters.. unbelievable. Special mention, though these aren't fish and chips, to the Hook Inn fish and chips shop in Kamo, north of Whangarei, which along with good fish and chips has a brilliant mussel fritter burger; Cafe 35 in Tokomaru Bay, East Coast with the incredible Paua Pie (check before you go as to whether they'll be open that day!); and the Wellington waterfront stall Food for the People that serves a mind blowing oyster fritter in bread. Those were the most memorable seafood meals I had. Enjoy 😂

Whenever I go back home to Europe with my family they can never understand how I can stay so cool under pressure when I was anxiety riddled before. NZ has calmed me so much and gave me a better meaning of life.
These videos are classic. I'm an Aussie and have lived in NZ for over a decade. It's a fookin' brilliant little country. So fookin' grateful to he able to live here peacefully with mostly kind people. Yes it's true. Kiwis are really good-willed 99% of the time. They are a community-minded bunch. Yeahh New Zealand! Imma kiwi, and love you gassing us up like this haha 😄 Fish and chips are a go to all year round, a few places are below the standard, but we definitely have a standard. The "she'll be right mate" attitude, nothing is that big of an issue for you to pull ya hair out over, I mean, we still have a few Karen's here and there but mostly we're laid back people, when things get tricky we can always fall back on our ingenuity. Definitely is a beautiful country. I love living in Tauranga and get beautiful views of the beach and the port from up in the hills. Gorgeous place. Kiwi ingenuity, true, we can at to do anything with almost anything else. If it can be fixed with duct tape then it ain't broke. And if ya neighbour or someone needs a hand you lend it to em, true we're all pretty keen to just get stuck in. It's kind of a point of pride that we have as to what skills or connections we have that we can offer someone. And the roads are pretty cool, i love driving through Paeroa its one of those lovely little towns that's world famous in New Zealand since ages ago. The most pollution we get is a cow drops a dump in the creek, its genuinely an issue sometimes, and there's a general demonisation of anyone who litters. Having Christmas in summer is a thing we do really make our own, it's not an uncommon tradition to go to the beach and get some fish and chips for Christmas. The Coca-Cola santa wears jandals / flip flops and a bathing suit on all the Coca-Cola marketing adds in summer. Gotta try a peanut slab by whittakers, a classic kiwi snak, it certainly is quality chocolate. Te Reo or The language in English. Te Reo and the whole Maori culture is truly a gem in New Zealand. Its a great shame what the colonisation effort did to the Maori people and all the flow on effects since then. The young New Zealand Europeans are really waking up to the injustice of the past and recognising the value of the Maori people and their culture. Just my 2 cents on each of your points bro. Glad you're enjoying you time in New Zealand, we're happy to have ya. It's a bit of an essay but I'm just excited whenever i see New Zealand out here on the Internet
Loved your perspective but the average kiwi will admit "we sure ain't perfect!" With such a small population we certainly punch above our weight in many fields such as sport, tech and science yet we tend not to crow about it. Well done you!!! Love your Maori pronunciation. My parents immigrated nearly 70 years ago. The changes even over that time have been phenomenal. I am here by Treaty, not right, and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. In trying to learn te reo I have had nothing but encouragement. We have three national languages, Maori, English and Sign Language.
Love your viideos. Want to say how most people used to a white Christmas do not rate summer Christmas but growing up here it has always been my favourite thing. Xmas cards with Santa in a a singlet, bbq Christmas along with a ham or turkey, going to the beach after opening presents for a swim ... it is absolutely incredible. Also love that you mentioned whittakers i love it sooooo much.

I'm glad you've had a good NZ experience and have clearly been around some nice people. It makes me wish those blanket statements are true around NZders not feeling or showing stress, always being helpful, people being genuinely committed to environmental sustainability.. however it is really quite a mixed bag in reality.
It's interesting to hear a Brit confirming our standard of Fish n chips mate, I had the argument with a couple of workmates when living in London on an OE that laughed when I suggested they were much better at home. My argument was you may have invented them, but we perfected it! 😅
The willingness to help out from Kiwis is just unbeatable. I remember moving fresh from Europe to Golden Bay (You need to come here if you have not yet!!!) and our container had not arrived and we had absolutley nothing in our house but a stove. The neighbours offered us everything for the time beeing, fridge, tv, matresses, bedding.....on and on. So generous, we were blowen away. The hospitality here is just hard to match! Loving it!
This is why I actually love my country! Given I have never traveled abroad to make comparisons, but seeing people such as yourself point out the beauty that is here in New Zealand really brings it home for me. Thankyou I hope you continue to enjoy this beautiful land I call home. We do still have underlying issues no doubt, but all in all it's a pretty fabulous country to be in.

I read a book once, set in New Zealand, about this guy who had a boat whose name translated to Happy Canoe. Can't remember the original Maori name but it was a proper boat - with sails and an engine and a place below deck to live and sleep in - and it was called 'The Happy Canoe'. That tickled me pink.

The best thing about sliding down the hill on cardboard is, when the grass got too worn away, you laid a hose down at the top & you got yourself a water slide (sans cardboard, of course)

The downside was it made stopping harder so occasionally we'd end up tangled in a fence. Totally worth it. I live on the West Coast and the scenery is best in the world. on one side is the sea, I live in a rain forest and next to that the Southern Alps, Swimming, tramping and ski-ing all minutes apart.

I watched your previous video & came back for more. Kiwi's love hearing people talk New Zealand (Aotearoa) up. Thank you. I love that Maori is now being incorporated into our lifestyle as is rightly should. I originally came from the South Island & miss the scenery down there, so have to make trips back there when I can. On pollution, one of the things that is helping in Auckland is later model cars are cleaning running & we have a very low pollution index. We are now experiencing congestion, but this is slowly being planned for. There are more cyclists out there now, and don't forget dog walkers. I am excited that we have created a very family oriented culture, that loves overseas cultures. The church I am in has got many Filipinos, South Americans, Pacific Islanders, Europeans, Africans and any more. This is so great for learning more about other cultures & understanding how they think. We now have a fantastic array of cuisines (like walking along a street smorgasbord), and agreed the fish & chips are to die for. The Seafood Collective in Mt Eden is where I go & is rated the best. Thank you for reminding us just how lucky & blessed we are in this very green country. Beaches, bays, mountains & scenic drives are so close. The scenic walks in the Waitakere Ranges are amazing for bird life & waterfalls. Even the highways are interesting. Whittaker's Bundaberg Ginger-Caramel Chocolate is one of the best treats I have ever tasted & I hope they bring it back. This was a collaboration with Bundaberg Brewing in Australia. Bad thing about kiwis is that we are all fish n chip snobs and five out 10 people know exactly what fish they are eating like as if it’s something they teach to you as a child…. Also proof how fish n chips is a staple like a meat pie…You might be onto something with how kiwi s are with looking after each other but I think we have to when your miles away from everyone in the middle of the pacific. .glad you love the beauty of NZ I have seen so many Brit’s come for holidays and not wanna move home for all the reasons that you have listed in this one video , glad you are liking it here. When I was growing up back in the 1960s, I lived in Auckland and my parents would take me and my brothers and sister to One Tree Hill. We would take pieces of cardboard there and slide down hills.

I would like to delve into the envrionment friendly nature of Kiwis because it is the reason I am planning on moving in NZ asap. New Zealand is considered to be one of the cleanest countries in terms of air pollution and pollution in general, there are other countries that have similar figures like Latvia and Estonia, Iceland, Greenland, Norway etc. Yet NZ has the highest amount of monitoring jobs for soil/air and water pollutants and for me personally it is the easiest place to find a job there (I am specialised in air pollution monitoring). It is extroardinary how concious they are about their nature.
You are a lovely positive man I am kiwi born live here and the one thing I don’t like about us is our inability to take criticism or laugh at ourselves we can be moaners and entitled any our migrants are our greatest asset so welcome!

Tokomaru Bay paua pies at Cafe 35 are incredible.Best fishing chips I've had was at a fishing village called Kawhia ar thier local pub.

Whenever I go back home to Europe with my family they can never understand how I can stay so cool under pressure when I was anxiety riddled before. NZ has calmed me so much and gave me a better meaning of life.
These videos are classic. I'm an Aussie and have lived in NZ for over a decade. It's a fookin' brilliant little country. So fookin' grateful to he able to live here peacefully with mostly kind people. Yes it's true. Kiwis are really good-willed 99% of the time. They are a community-minded bunch. The police here are fantastic and do great community work too. It's so chill 😎 So very fortunate and thank you Kiwis for being a bunch of Kool Katz 😻 Churrrr🤙

Fish and chips are a go to all year round, a few places are below the standard, but we definitely have a standard.
The "she'll be right mate" attitude, nothing is that big of an issue for you to pull ya hair out over, I mean, we still have a few Karen's here and there but mostly we're laid back people, when things get tricky we can always fall back on our ingenuity.
Definitely is a beautiful country. I love living in Tauranga and get beautiful views of the beach and the port from up in the hills. Gorgeous place.
Kiwi ingenuity, true, we can at to do anything with almost anything else. If it can be fixed with duct tape then it ain't broke.
And if ya neighbour or someone needs a hand you lend it to em, true we're all pretty keen to just get stuck in. It's kind of a point of pride that we have as to what skills or connections we have that we can offer someone.
And the roads are pretty cool, i love driving through Paeroa its one of those lovely little towns that's world famous in New Zealand since ages ago.
The most pollution we get is a cow drops a dump in the creek, its genuinely an issue sometimes, and there's a general demonisation of anyone who litters.
Having Christmas in summer is a thing we do really make our own, it's not an uncommon tradition to go to the beach and get some fish and chips for Christmas. The Coca-Cola santa wears jandals / flip flops and a bathing suit on all the Coca-Cola marketing adds in summer.
Gotta try a peanut slab by whittakers, a classic kiwi snak, it certainly is quality chocolate.
Te Reo or The language in English. Te Reo and the whole Maori culture is truly a gem in New Zealand. Its a great shame what the colonisation effort did to the Maori people and all the flow on effects since then. The young New Zealand Europeans are really waking up to the injustice of the past and recognising the value of the Maori people and their culture.

Loved your perspective but the average kiwi will admit "we sure ain't perfect!" With such a small population we certainly punch above our weight in many fields such as sport, tech and science yet we tend not to crow about it. Well done you!!! Love your Maori pronunciation. My parents immigrated nearly 70 years ago. The changes even over that time have been phenomenal. I am here by Treaty, not right, and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. In trying to learn te reo I have had nothing but encouragement. We have three national languages, Maori, English and Sign Language.

Love your viideos. Want to say how most people used to a white Christmas do not rate summer Christmas but growing up here it has always been my favourite thing. Xmas cards with Santa in a a singlet, bbq Christmas along with a ham or turkey, going to the beach after opening presents for a swim ... it is absolutely incredible. Also love that you mentioned whittakers i love it sooooo much.

It makes me wish those blanket statements are true around NZders not feeling or showing stress, always being helpful, people being genuinely committed to environmental sustainability.. however it is really quite a mixed bag in reality.

It's interesting to hear a Brit confirming our standard of Fish n chips mate, I had the argument with a couple of workmates when living in London on an OE that laughed when I suggested they were much better at home. My argument was you may have invented them, but we perfected it! 😅

The willingness to help out from Kiwis is just unbeatable. I remember moving fresh from Europe to Golden Bay (You need to come here if you have not yet!!!) and our container had not arrived and we had absolutley nothing in our house but a stove. The neighbours offered us everything for the time beeing, fridge, tv, matresses, bedding.....on and on. So generous, we were blowen away. The hospitality here is just hard to match! Loving it!
This is why I actually love my country! Given I have never traveled abroad to make comparisons, but seeing people such as yourself point out the beauty that is here in New Zealand really brings it home for me. Thankyou I hope you continue to enjoy this beautiful land I call home. We do still have underlying issues no doubt, but all in all it's a pretty fabulous country to be in.

I read a book once, set in New Zealand, about this guy who had a boat whose name translated to Happy Canoe. Can't remember the original Maori name but it was a proper boat - with sails and an engine and a place below deck to live and sleep in - and it was called 'The Happy Canoe'. That tickled me pink.

I live on the West Coast and the scenery is best in the world. on one side is the sea, I live in a rain forest and next to that the Southern Alps, Swimming, tramping and ski-ing all minutes apart.

I watched your previous video & came back for more. Kiwi's love hearing people talk New Zealand (Aotearoa) up. Thank you. I love that Maori is now being incorporated into our lifestyle as is rightly should. I originally came from the South Island & miss the scenery down there, so have to make trips back there when I can. On pollution, one of the things that is helping in Auckland is later model cars are cleaning running & we have a very low pollution index. We are now experiencing congestion, but this is slowly being planned for. There are more cyclists out there now, and don't forget dog walkers. I am excited that we have created a very family oriented culture, that loves overseas cultures. The church I am in has got many Filipinos, South Americans, Pacific Islanders, Europeans, Africans and any more. This is so great for learning more about other cultures & understanding how they think. We now have a fantastic array of cuisines (like walking along a street smorgasbord), and agreed the fish & chips are to die for. The Seafood Collective in Mt Eden is where I go & is rated the best. Thank you for reminding us just how lucky & blessed we are in this very green country. Beaches, bays, mountains & scenic drives are so close. The scenic walks in the Waitakere Ranges are amazing for bird life & waterfalls. Even the highways are interesting. Whittaker's Bundaberg Ginger-Caramel Chocolate is one of the best treats I have ever tasted & I hope they bring it back. This was a collaboration with Bundaberg Brewing in Australia. I have often had Swiss guests who froth over Whittaker's chocolate, especially the Creamy Milk chocolate. It IS the best chocolate in the world.
Bad thing about kiwis is that we are all fish n chip snobs and five out 10 people know exactly what fish they are eating like as if it’s something they teach to you as a child…. Also proof how fish n chips is a staple like a meat pie…You might be onto something with how kiwi s are with looking after each other but I think we have to when your miles away from everyone in the middle of the pacific. .glad you love the beauty of NZ I have seen so many Brit’s come for holidays and not wanna move home for all the reasons that you have listed in this one video , glad you are liking it here. When I was growing up back in the 1960s, I lived in Auckland and my parents would take me and my brothers and sister to One Tree Hill. We would take pieces of cardboard there and slide down hills.

I would like to delve into the envrionment friendly nature of Kiwis because it is the reason I am planning on moving in NZ asap.
New Zealand is considered to be one of the cleanest countries in terms of air pollution and pollution in general, there are other countries that have similar figures like Latvia and Estonia, Iceland, Greenland, Norway etc. Yet NZ has the highest amount of monitoring jobs for soil/air and water pollutants and for me personally it is the easiest place to find a job there (I am specialised in air pollution monitoring). It is extroardinary how concious they are about their nature.
I think a video on Kiwi ingenuity would be so funny! You have a great sense of humour!
