The obesity epidemic is real. Both in the States and there in PH. It took me 2 years to get fit, I was close to more than likely death, weighing around 260, on 7 meds, type 2, but now at 189, and in shape, no meds, I am going to be ok. The amount of discipline required to stay this way is not much after establishing a routine and good diet. Walking was the key. 10,000 steps a day, 4 miles every other day at a brisk walk, and some push ups and just a couple other upper body exercises. It can be done, and nobody should move to a developing country if medically unfit.
Only 81 Days in Cebu Business Park to date... Not quite adapted to the Afternoon Heat, yet. From my Condo: The 24 Hour McDonalds on Bohol Avenue is a 12 Minute walk away. Four 24 Hour 7-11s [Plus Two Clones] within a 15 Minute Walking Circle. [Yes, I occasionally take a 2am Walk!] Landers is 15 Minutes away. Ayala Center Mall is Eight Minutes away. Four Laundry Services with in a 15 Minute Walking Circle... The Complex has it's own Police & Fire Stations PLUS at least FIVE Private Security firms in the area. I'm walking enough that my weight is holding & my Food Intake is down... So eventually my meds should come down too.
I was one of those guys who never took any meds my brother took my brother was on so many pills he didn't need breakfast died at 54 me I'm 65 haven't seen a doctor in twenty years
James you are one of the blessed. It really makes me think how much of the “med” thing is needed and how much is because pharma companies have so much power.
@@Joeysgonerogue Statin is the biggest money maker of them all. They give every person Statin drugs after any heart problem . Real studies show they improve your life very very little.

Ripley, You’re on target and an excellent example of what can be done. Thank you very much for contributing. I’m pinning this to the top. Best, Joe

Good news Ted. Thank you also for the great addition here!
Walk on, Joe!
Will do, Brad! Hopefully you’re all settled in the new condo by now. I’ll message you later.
Mark Thornton dropped his meds and he's dead now.
We’re all big boys and girls. We’re responsible for our own decisions.
He also seemed to never change his diet and went swimming. Did not look like he did any cardio like a walk.
