Companies want idols to be flawless because they put time and money into them. The industry is slowly improving in that aspect, but there are still major issues. Now, the reason (some) Korean citizens get upset at idols dating? That is a question I can't really answer. I mean, Korea is a very lonely, online society, so perhaps that leads a lot of people to have unhealthy relationships with idols because they are lacking in real relationships. That's my best guess when it comes to that issue.
almost all of the monthly evaluations i watched so far are very predatory and toxic, they don’t even try to give constructive criticism, they always shift blame to the girls and say they aren’t doing enough after training all day, every day, eating and breathing k-pop, it’s really sad watching them getting gaslighted by the higher ups 😢
