I appreciate that this guy brought some actual personality to Raoul. It really made the show feel like it had three main characters, instead of the Phantom, Christine, and her bland normie boyfriend.
Totally agree. He’s the only Raoul that I was cheering for. In other productions I was more on the side of the Phantom but Hadley’s portrayal balanced things out a bit better.

I’ve seen this show live and didn’t even register that there was a Raoul boyfriend, until Hadley. Which is probably why I was very “meh” on Phantom except for some of the music. But now I’m completely obsessed. It actually makes sense now and I am simping over Hadley’s Raoul. Sierra makes Christine vulnerable and strong and most importantly compassionate, plus sublime beauty and killer vocals. Ramin’s rendition of Phantom is piercing. This is such a beautiful production but Hadley and Raoul with Christine is irresistable to me
I got to see Hadley as Stein in the second preview of City of Angels in London this past March. He’s even more incredible live, and I’m devastated that the show might not end up getting to re-open. I will say however, that while Theo James (Stone) is an incredible actor and capable enough singer, he’s not an ideal duet partner for Hadley because he gets overpowered so easily. I found myself liking Double Talk much more than Nothing Without Me because of that.
