Karen: is a "die-hard Christian" Also Karen: at every opportunity does the opposite of what the Christian holy book would encourage our discourage Decide for yourselves what that means
As a kid, I had a Sunday school teacher who told us that D&D was evil... even when I told her that all my friends who played it were harmless nerds. (I wasn't playing back then.) I'm surprised she never went off on Harry Potter too.
“One year later, Creig and Karen we’re married, two years later, Karen divorced Creig and married his live in Ukrainian roommate Pietrov.” That killed me.
I'd like to point out that Karen is not a good example of a "die-hard Christian." She is projecting her tendency for sin onto other people. She cheats, she drinks alcohol, sleeps around before marriage and is a hateful rage monster. All sins in the Bible, which I would wager she doesn't even read. Principled, born-again Christians don't tend to do that stuff when they immerse themselves in their faith and its teachings. I'm a born-again Christian. I've played D&D since I was in college almost a decade ago. And I will be playing it as long as I have the energy to sit around a table and dream.
Unfortunately thanks to people like that, most people have a inaccurate picture of Christians. I think it comes down to them not noticing there are "Christians" and then Christians.
Absolutely true. I’m also a born-again Christian who plays RP and anyone who’s ever criticized me about it is either too trusting of their pastor’s uninformed fear-mongering or religious radicals that talk a big game but don’t even follow the Word.
I mean there definitely is a way to play D&D that makes it bad, and there are people who play it like that, but to say all D&D games are like the worst ones is just... not true.
She's no Christian. She likes the rules and legalism because it facilitates her judgment of others and her own superiority. She's a true hypocrite if ever there was one.
Funny enough, most of the “anti-gamer” Christians are actually Protestants. As someone who was baptized and confirmed into the catholic faith when I was young, I was never discouraged from playing fantasy games.
Sawyer Cantrell yeah, that’s why I used “most”, I know there are always exceptions on both sides. It’s just from my experience. I think it’s a problem that is much less prevalent these days, regardless of denomination.
I dunno, I was raised Protestant and Discípulos de Cristo and I wasn’t specifically discouraged either. Some of my friends were, though. Maybe I just had parents that actually did research instead of just accepting a pastor’s fear-mongering.
I have yet to meet a Protestant against video games... plenty of small town Catholics though.. Maybe it comes down to the individual, instead of some arbitrary label?
Jes Bendtsen a lot of friends I had growing up, who’s parents were anti fantasy/fiction were usually baptist or some other denomination. Again, it’s just from personal experience.
Two rules of mine. 1. You're not the only player at the table. 2. Just because you're having a bad day, doesn't mean you have to make everybody else miserable as well. Looks like Karen broke both of my rules. She's not playing at my table.
I think because "hardcore" usually implies taking something to an extreme, and it's at extremes where you tend to see odd behavior like that. In that sense it's accurate, though possibly a new term would be better off for them.
@@WolforNuva The word Christian is the problem in the phrase not hardcore. The bible quite plainly tells us that someone who does what she does is not a Christian and it tells Christians to separate from people like them and to treat them as though they are heathens. I meant that you are not to associate with anyone who claims to be a believer yet indulges in sexual sin, or is greedy, or worships idols, or is abusive, or is a drunkard, or cheats people. Don’t even eat with such people. It isn’t my responsibility to judge outsiders, but it certainly is your responsibility to judge those inside the church who are sinning. God will judge those on the outside; but as the Scriptures say, “You must remove the evil person from among you.” 1 Corinthians 5:11-13 NLT
@@lilchristuten7568 A Christian is anyone who accepts Jesus as their lord and savior. There are many different denominations of Christianity, each with different ideas about what makes a Christian, all supported by different parts of the bible. According to some she isn't a Christian, according to others she would be, so I see no reason not to count her as one. Insisting otherwise is the "No True Scotsman" fallacy. If you were to say she's a terrible Christian, a hypocrite, or whatever else, I would be happy to agree though.

She's only a Christian in the official sense. She doesn't take anything about her faith seriously, or else she wouldn't be doing all these horrible things. Being a real Christian is a matter of the heart, that influences everything you do. If she really was, she couldn't possibly keep acting this way. She is a Christian in the official sense only. That's the box she checks on forms, and that's likely what she will say to her dying day, because she takes pride in her legalism.
No you see, she's a Karen. Not a "Karen". We have no problems with Karens, but only with "Karens". Karens are more than welcome to live their happy lives. "Karens" can go die in their entitled hole.
Good stories are the ones that have epic tales of horrrible experiences all because people were too forgiving and patient to a fault. Great stories are those with controled situations because the OP had the insight to intervene.

She could have been anything else. She is VERY disgraceful to my kind. (I’m a life cleric). Now I know why she is a Karen. 😤. If u saw my face u would see visible confusion and immense anger reserved only for my brothers.😡
I've read the r/rpghorrorstories that the author of this one has posted. Crabby, if you think THIS is "underwhelming", you should try reading her "Rat-Boy" Saga. *SHUDDERS*
As a civilian with no experience with the armed forces, I had to google what TAD meant. For anyone else in the same boat, it stands for Temporary Additional Duty. Basically, it's just overtime but they gave it a fancy name to make it sound more impressive than it actually is.
That is a good plot twist. The DM did the right thing. Discussed it with Karen and when they were found to be unreasonable, booted them. How is that so hard for a lot of these stories? Oh yeah the DM is usually part of the problem.
A lot of misconceptions about D&D started over a "LARP" gone wrong, where a teenager was supposed to have been seduced by the game and wound up kidnapped or some bullshiggity. It was a made up story so his folks didn't beat his ass for running away from home and the police officer aided his lie. that's the TL:DR of it. D&D is not the devil, though I would find myself hard pressed (as a player) to be an Evil aligned character. I am a Christian. My first character was a Bard, but it's our druid that keeps hitting people up. My Aasamir Paladin has a crush on the half Ifrit Barbarian, and while I (In character) follow the commandments of my chosen deity, anything not explicitly spelled out is up for debate. I remember my character having a theological difference with a servant of a LG god, but the LE servant who showed up in our campaign? I had NO reason in character to fight her, we got on well, and it was our NG player who kept expecting me to put up objections lol. I said "We'll see how things go once we do not have a common goal. Besides, she has given her word that she's only looking for the artist, so I've no reason to doubt her." We left on good terms and never came to blows. I still resent that Cleric from the LG god for not wanting to help a sick child without payment first.
Just a minor note next time a Lg cleric doesn't help a child expecting compensation they could lose their powers as it's seen as selfish and not what a Lg god would want. Bring it up next time a Lg character does some shit like that.
I had a panic attack when I saw 'Craig' in the title and thought that I had died and god was punishing me by creating more stories about he who must not be named
It always frustrates me when people self identify as a christian and blatantly do anti-christian things such as cheat and seek revenge. Everyone struggles with sin, but to be unrepentant about obviously bad things and then say that they are christians makes Christianity look so bad.
Wonder how that fight would have gone down, Cleric VS Sorcerer. At low level it could definitely go either way, heck the cleric probably has an advantage and certainly higher hp/healing ability, but at high level... hooo boy have fun with that if the sorcerer gets any spells off.
6:10 - Honestly, I would have let her ATTEMPT to kill the sorcerer, then made her fail MISERABLY by having her deity abandon her right as she made the attempt, then have the rest of the party retaliate against her in order to teach her a lesson.
"you attempt to attack your companion for no reason, in the midst of you casting your spell you feel the magic fade from you, as your god has abandoned you for your sins. you may now leave the table"
I legit thought that was going to happen. Sticking by the rules and making her suffer the consequences of evil actions. But yeah... booting her and her boyfriend was the smarter thing to do.
For anyone reading this, I am a Conservative, Christian, Fundamentalist, Southern Baptist Pastor. I was exposed to D&D when I was in college, and I am convinced that it is completely morally neutral. It can be fun; it can be really useful for building friendships; it can be great. I suppose it could be used for the devil's work, if it was a home-brew campaign, and the DM was a devil worshipper. But that's clearly not what it was designed to be. The one time I played, I played a bard. I wasn't very good, but I had fun, and the other players seemed to be having fun, too.
Lots of Navy peeps play d&d. Helps pass the time on deployment. Lots of fun nights. You see lots of crazy relationship stories like this on a real ship. I never hand out with those kinds of people because of the dumb drama
Ya, that person wasn't a die hard Christian. That's quite a common label people slap on others without understanding religious jargon and concepts. The person was most likely a catholic/unknowledgeable protestant. I say that because I've known many catholics(and was in the military) and know that they have a very superficial morality they parade at certain times, and then end up just being drunk fornicators who have no regard to their holy book. I mean, you can't call an adulteress a "die hard Christian" lol.
Oh my goodness! She used her brain and kicked that psycho to the curb. Reminds me of how I recently kicked out a guy who was toxic and trying to convince the rest of the group that I was a bad DM so that he can get everyone to go back to playing pathfinder the way he wanted.
I think it says something about Karen. That she wanted to kill somebody, doesn’t matter who they were, didn’t matter why, didn’t matter that there would be massive consequences to doing so. She just really wanted to kill the guy. (and no the fact that it was in an RPG and is not in real life does not change it.)
They lasted for several sessions? They should have booted them out when they were clearly not interested in playing DnD. I am only mildly surprise that the GM put her foot down, although I am sure she was just fed up at that point.

I saw a quote today, don't remember who said it but it goes:
"God would prefer a good atheist over an immoral christain."
I've come to expect that some "Die-hard Christians" only listen to the Bible when it's convenient for them.
That’s hilarious. Being jealous of your boyfriend’s imaginary character flirting with an imaginary medieval barmaid.
And yet cheating on your husband in real life?! What logic is that?!
I believe the saying is Blame other of which you are guilty and "Karen" is a prime example of it
Unfortunately thanks to people like that, most people have a inaccurate picture of Christians.
@@djn6962 Where do you have this "Most" from?
"Die hard Christian."
Thinks videogames and fantasy RPG games are the devil.
Commits adultery.
I'm guessing the Opie wanted to show her apocracy, but nothing about her screams hardcore Christian from what she posted.
Not to mention, she plays those games. I don't think she's so much a hypocrite as just a liar about what she believes.
Two rules of mine.
1. You're not the only player at the table.
2. Just because you're having a bad day, doesn't mean you have to make everybody else miserable as well.
Looks like Karen broke both of my rules. She's not playing at my table.
I don't like when “Video games send you to Hell” types are referred to as “hardcore” Christian. I'm Christian and that's not how that works at all.
They're pathetic people. Narcissists that act that way
I think because "hardcore" usually implies taking something to an extreme, and it's at extremes where you tend to see odd behavior like that. In that sense it's accurate, though possibly a new term would be better off for them.
Thank you speedwagon, very cool
@@WolforNuva
The word Christian is the problem in the phrase not hardcore.
God will judge those on the outside; but as the Scriptures say, “You must remove the evil person from among you.”
1 Corinthians 5:11-13 NLT
@@lilchristuten7568 A Christian is anyone who accepts Jesus as their lord and savior.
There are many different denominations of Christianity, each with different ideas about what makes a Christian, all supported by different parts of the bible. According to some she isn't a Christian, according to others she would be, so I see no reason not to count her as one.
Insisting otherwise is the "No True Scotsman" fallacy. If you were to say she's a terrible Christian, a hypocrite, or whatever else, I would be happy to agree though.
"Something something redflag, something something give'em a chance, something something OH GOD WHY I LET THIS HAPPEN?!" End post.
DM highlife!
I saw the title of this video, and I was like "oh my god."
Holy crap my story got noticed by Crit Crab!
This was your story? You're the DM? That's wild, because my sister is also in the Navy, also used to play D&D and may still, and is also named Rayne.
Its been my experience that Couples at the table can either be good or unpalatable.
Ive only had bad experiences with couples to be honest... But might be the couples themselves. They behaved the same outside of the sessions...
As a Die-Hard Eastern Orthodox Christian who's father is a Priest (and was my first DM), I take issue with mega-church Karen saying D&D is from the Devil. I am currently running a Campaign for my brother (who is a Russian Orthodox Deacon), his wife, and my wife after church on Sundays while our kids play together.
Karens are the wost
I was honestly surprised by that ending. Makes a change from the vast majority of these kinds of stories.
Craig = Hmm seems OK.
Karen = Surprised she can mention the lords name without spontaneously combusting.
When I saw this had a Craig in the title.i was like "may the deadra help us all". Very entertaining story as always though :3
Craig, the: chaotic evil aberration, one of a kind boss monster, can be dispelled but never killed.
Good on this DM for getting rid of the problem rather than letting to continue, especially with the drastic events that were going to happen.
Plot twist at the end if there was one! I was expecting the DM to act all cool and things to unravel even worse after that. Guess I was wrong. Well done DM!
XD I failed the gameshow portion because I thought kicking her out would be "too direct" and "nobody on rpg horror stories does the smart thing"
Same! Lol.
So she basically told Karen "I'm a god. How can you kill a god? What a grand and intoxicating innocence."
Just want to say it cos i cant.
Im a christian and DM, not all Christians think video games or dnd is satanic, dont know if karen is truly a christian... by her behavior id assume not and it saddens me the fact that a crummy person acted in such a way and gives other Christians a bad rep.
She's a blasphemous hypocrite. Don't pull punches. If we really had Paladins, they'd be coming for her.
Don't worry so much, nobody thinks she's a normal Christian. I'm sure we all understand she's perverting religion to fit what she wants to be
Lol, "real" christian. I guarantee she's a real christian, just not a good one.
Karens dump stat was wedding cake!
The unholy alliance!
Release the Karen!!!!!
Ok I will see my self out now
As a Christian gamer, who's been gaming for most of my life, may I say; Karen does not represent us.
WHAT IF, Craig in this video was actually Craig from the Craig saga. They say he had a girlfriend so that could be Karen...that would be a diabolical coincidense...
...That's why they chose the name "Craig". It was a reference to that story lol.
As if that neckbeard could handle bootcamp.
Shit, they're the opposite of the Marines I played DnD with. Fun, boisterous, kind-hearted peeps; made the deployment fly by
Friend: This video can’t go THAT bad!
Me: Think terrible twos.....but times that by meta gaming and may I speak to your manager.
Friend:........Oh..........Oh No........
I dont know if any of the stories you post are fake but this just hurts my soul. Goddamn Karen takes the word Karen to a whole new level cheating on a dude with cancer
"Then I walked out."
Of...of your own house?
Notes from a NG human Idiot;
This is honestly a suprise for me: a Very intelligent DM thst had the honesty to at least TRY to work with both a Craig & Karen after discovering the fact. I'll be the first to admit that having a single Craig or Karen in your group is bad, but Both at the same time is a Nightmare. Dieties bless that DM, she tried to make it work and knew when to unfortunately Cut her losses with them. A nice Craig/Karen story with a Happy ending for all but them, well done Milady. Well done, i say!
May your Pantheon Ever Favor you,
Baron Trevelyan of Restenford
Why thank you so much kind Baron *bows*
Author of the Karen & Craig horror story
@Vitti Rayne -- you are most welcome Milady(returns bow). Out of curiousity, what happened to the group after Karen&Craig?...
@@johnnysizemore5797 We continued playing happily for about another year or so, even added another player before I ended up having to ship out across country on orders.
I'm also happy to say that Karen's husband beat cancer and he remarried another woman better than Karen.
I would like to state I just binged almost all ur videos in one day....damn this is great.
Karen and Craig I ship it
Navy.
Harsh reality of military life.
I am audibly sobbing for you my little puddle pirate.
aw man, i was hoping to hear about how she lost her shit at all the consequences of killing the sorcerer until she finally stormed off and was banished, just for the sorcerer to be revived after she was gone. how dare there be a good ending!
Always good to see you critcrab!
Gotta love how people like her pick and choose what verses of the bible to follow. Line if ore the fact cheating is bad, and you can't divorce your spouse unless the husband gives the okay, but yes in B.S. 22:80 it says "Any one who plays games that will not be invented for a good thousand years after this book is written is going to hell!" Drives me up the wall
I was honestly expecting the DM to do nothing and let the sorcerer absolutely push her shit in
Feel sorry for Karen’s Husband, not only does he have cancer he has a horrible disease too.
I'm happy to tell you that Karen's husband beat his cancer and then remarried. His new wife is the most amazing woman and she loves him like no other! They live a happy live AND they got custody of the kids.
@@Saint_Sekyuritai2849 oh that's wonderful news! Congratulations for him!
My family grew up religious and all that but my parents were all for me playing dnd lol
Critcrab runs a pretty awesome channel
Thanks!
Karen: 'die-hard christian'
also Karen: introduced with some of the most un-Christian traits there are
I don't think Karen is a Christian. Sorry if that takes anyone out of their headspace.
I aggre these types use the bible as an axuse to scream at anyone
@@MatthewJones-jg4eu did she even use the bible once in that whole thing?
That mic drop line from the DM was magnificent lol
Good job Dm. Should have done it before the game knowing the two people in question but better later than never

I’m a Christian who is kinda close to the equivalent of a D&D fan girl and after hearing that, I facepalmed so hard you probably could hear it from the next room of my house Like WTH gurl And (see timestamp 2:25) SHE IS A CLERIC. She could have been anything else. She is VERY disgraceful to my kind. (I’m a life cleric). Now I know why she is a Karen. 😤. If u saw my face u would see visible confusion and immense anger reserved only for my brothers.😡
What’s the game in the back?
Found it: Realm of the Mad God
I've read the r/rpghorrorstories that the author of this one has posted. Crabby, if you think THIS is "underwhelming", you should try reading her "Rat-Boy" Saga. *SHUDDERS*
The title alone has me intrigued.
Absolute madlad playing realm of the mad god
As a civilian with no experience with the armed forces, I had to google what TAD meant. For anyone else in the same boat, it stands for Temporary Additional Duty. Basically, it's just overtime but they gave it a fancy name to make it sound more impressive than it actually is.
Enjoying your videos as always Crab, have a great day!
That is a good plot twist. The DM did the right thing. Discussed it with Karen and when they were found to be unreasonable, booted them. How is that so hard for a lot of these stories? Oh yeah the DM is usually part of the problem.
A DM that put their foot down? On this channel?!? I'm shooketh to my core..... I just don't know how to proceed with this.
That was a beautiful twist at the end ♡
Cheaters always get jealous when they're worried someone is cheating on them. Unhealthy.
@@salvadorsanchez4136 Oh, my Paladin DID bring it up, and we got the child treatment :3 He's just still salty that he had to use persuasion.
Awesome, sometimes people don't follow alignment charts on things like that.
Figures the one who knew how to keep the peace would be a soldier.
There were so many red flags I’m shocked the DM had agreed to let her play
I'd forgotten about the plot twist coming and was convinced it was anything but option A.
Realm of the Mad God Gameplay? Damn, you're spoiling us.
I wasn't prepared for the plot twist. I thought I was, but I was wrong.
*seeing the notification for a new critcrab video* oh Delish
*seeing Craig and Karen on the thumbnail* 👀👀👀👀👀👀
Oh hey, ROTMG! I need to get back into that.
Wonder how that fight would have gone down, Cleric VS Sorcerer. At low level it could definitely go either way, heck the cleric probably has an advantage and certainly higher hp/healing ability, but at high level... hooo boy have fun with that if the sorcerer gets any spells off.
That was a great plot twist. Completely unexpected.
Wait, a happy ending? Hell yeah!
Bro the last time I watched a video here you were just reaching 10k or 15k, now we at 30k 😂😂
The Crab Army is ever expanding.
Lots of Navy peeps play d&d. Helps pass the time on deployment. Lots of fun nights. You see lots of crazy relationship stories like this on a real ship. I never hand out with those kinds of people because of the dumb drama
Bruh, me seeing you play Realm of the Mad God in the background brought back sooooo much nostagle from my 6th grade year (im year 10 rn)
Aaaahhhhhhh Navy Life, I miss those days.
This Sailor is my kind of woman
Karen has been defeated
The fact that you used Jenny McCarthy in the thumbnail brings me bountiful joy.
Crabulous story keep it crabing crab !
Back story. The DM was obviously jealous 😂.
Nope. Not at all.
This can't be the same Craig from the other stories, it just can't be...
As an Australian, I thoroughly enjoy the Craig stories almost as much as I enjoy the narrator pronouncing it "Kregg"...
They lasted for several sessions? They should have booted them out when they were clearly not interested in playing DnD. I am only mildly surprise that the GM put her foot down, although I am sure she was just fed up at that point.
"Die hard Christian" "cheats on husband with Craig" yeah she's not a Christian
"-Karen, who I knew very well, is a die-hard Christian-"
Immediate tell of an adulteress. Especially if this woman is a Karen, too.
