St. Louis is really great, I hope you visit and consider us. You just have to choose your spots based on what kind of house and neighborhood you like - there are tons of differences. This is probably the most open minded realty group to help you find a great place.

    A couple of other benefits.
    Outstanding healthcare in the region.
This is a bit more of a niche, but this is a good region for bicyclist. If you want pedestrian only trails for recreational riding, varied mountain bike trails, opportunities for gravel riding, after work or weekend morning group road rides, opportunities for century rides or fully-supported sponsored rides … we have them.

Such good points!! The part about being good for cyclists is a really good part. There's so many outdoor trails and plenty of them are fantastic for biking

I take Amtrak trips to Chicago from STL pretty regularly. Being able to experience Chicago without the prices of living in Chicago is pretty amazing. I just wish STL had competent leadership. Decades of population loss is just embarrassing.

Visited several times and had a great time. Excellent restaurants, a great zoo, a good musical and theatrical scene. Was told the crime can be bad, but wasn't exposed to that.

This was a solid and honest assessment of Saint Louis. Yes, Saint Louis has its bad parts, but it's easy to forget that it has many positives. With some common sense, Saint Louis can be a great place to live for anyone. And the low price of living is no joke. Food & housing--you can easily live there for a FOURTH of what you'd pay in New York for example.

Great job! You are an excellent ambassador for our town. And to you out-of-towners wondering how accurate and unbiased his informational videos are: as a lifelong St. Louisan in my 60's, I would say he is very realistic, perhaps even characteristically humble. We are not currently in the market to downsize, but when we are, we'll be calling his team for a listing presentation.

@@LivingStLouis actually, as a local I would be interested in an explanation of the most active builders, how long in business, where headquartered, relative strengths, etc. but I guess that is somewhat moot since about 90% of the new home purchase decision is location....but since you asked.

Yess! Keep in mind the amenities that are important to you and base your search around the buildings that fit (e.g secure parking either included or available for an additional fee, pet areas, gym, lounge, pool, business center)

How do you bring up the many industries in STL and absolutely flop on mentioning supply chain - astounding. The sheer amount of trucking, DCs, trains/station, logistic companies is wild because "logistically" STL is the center of the US.

You cant do anything in Saint Louis City without the risk of you car being broken into. Doesn't matter where., in broad day light. In front of police camera's. Its a gamble everytime and only getting worse

I can't even fathom being able to buy a house for 200k, here in Toronto the average cost of a house is.over a million...
Any big city will have its share of crime etc but didnt St louis top the list as the most dangerous city in the US? I remember the murder rate being way higher than average..i guess that as something to do with the iexpensive housing lol?

Nice overview. Love Imos Pizza and White Castles. Yeah, maybe not healthy, but good. The best French fries I ever had were at Olearys, but unfortunately, they are gone. Lots of neighborhoods and things to do! 🌷🌿

    1. St Louis is full of broken down charm.
    2. St Louis Pizza is nasty made with provel cheese which is almost like Velveeta.
    3. Is a typical Democrat run City, overrun with crime and gun violence.
    4. No rush hour in St Louis City because everybody has moved to the suburbs or moved to another state.
    5. Once you flee St Louis, Missouri as a state is very pretty and lush. Coming back to St Louis you immediately feel disappointment and regret.

Have you spent much time in any other major city or metropolitan area? I've been to most of the top MSA over the years and I've found that they've all had: 1: JoAnn Fabrics, 2: crime/run down areas.

I lived lots of other places and I think you are incorrect, but everyone has an opinion. That is ok. I love it though and enjoy STL much more than the other cities where I have lived. You have to take STL with a glass half full attitude as there are problems, but they are not insurmountable.
