Respect ❤️ to you! Thank you for such an open-minded reaction. I know you often (if not always) read the comments, so I hope you're okay with this veerrryy long one 😅🙏. Just to give some background about our music industry (I'm an Indonesian living in Indonesia 👍): our country has the biggest Muslim population in the world (contrary to what people think to be in the middle east). There is debate among Muslim scholars about the rulings of music. Some say it's permissible, some say only worship music is allowed, and some say that it is not allowed at all. But for sure, I can confidently say, that the former opinion is most popular here. So most people and scholars here believe that music is permissible. That's why you'll find that Indonesia has a robust music industry and has been quite a market target for k-pop and western music, despite 80% of our population being Muslims. Even some mosques in certain regions play music with their sound systems here 😆 (but of course they're mostly songs about worship) So hmm, how do I break this down? Hmmm ... The main rulings of Islam come from the Quran (our holy scripture), but how to interpret it needs to be viewed using the life of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and his companions, then scholars add to the discussion if there are no definite rulings about a certain topic. So the same thing goes with music. I'm nowhere near a scholar 😅, so I won't even try to tell you where or how exactly the difference of opinion came about concerning music. But the general rule about these differences of opinion is: we still should always respect the other person's opinion especially if they all have sound reasoning from scripture or hadis (the life/words of the prophet). And odd as it might sound, all three of those opinions that I mentioned have their own valid claim. And of course, everyone is welcomed to choose what they believe in and what they feel is most appropriate for themselves. But no one should force the opinion on another. I find it very unfortunate though, that some people think they are "righteous" enough to force their thoughts upon others. And they're not even scholars 🤷🏻♀️. Just normal people who think they understand enough about their religion 🙃 (if they do understand, they wouldn't be extreme in forcing their opinion, because God said himself that Muslims are the middlemen... and that God does not like the extremes, whichever polar you're trying to defend) They're not the majority but they pack a punch with their attitude and words, don't you think 🤷🏻♀️. Hence why you see these young talented girls criticized for wanting to sing and play music. It's not the religion at fault, its the people who twist the religion to force their agenda on others 🤷🏻♀️. As I said, most people are fine with music here, and truly believe that God has made music permissible. Actually, if you listen to the call of prayer and the recital of the Quran, it's almost like a form of singing! (Don't call it singing though, some people will be offendend, but I personally don't mind. Just call it recital to be safe 😁) My grandma was an Islamic religion teacher (not a scholar, but someone who teaches young children to read the Quran and about the religion in general). She wore a hijab, had a beautiful voice, sang with me, and even played the piano 😁. No problem with that! My friends and I are hijabi and we love to karaoke 🤣😂 And btw, this is I think the popular opinion of most Muslims too, not just in Indonesia. Hmm, for example, Kazakhstan is a Muslim majority country, and Dimash is a Muslim and all of his family are musicians (including his Mum 😍). So yeah. I also listen to Indian and Turkish music, some of them are Muslim too 🤔. As for music recommendations. Unfortunately, I don't usually listen to metal so I'm not following V.O.B's update 🙏, but respect for them. I do have some other recommendations. First and for most: "Wonderland Indonesia" by Alffy Rev ua-cam.com/video/aKtb7Y3qOck/v-deo.html Have you listened to this yet, it was quite hyped a few months ago! If you want to taste the crazy diverse cultural ethnicity Indonesia has (we have more than 1000 ethnicities here), then this is a must! Traditional but wrapped in modern EDM. Can you believe that 😁. Each section is a different local language, with the last part being one of our national songs in Bahasa Indonesia. Alffy Rev is the composer, DJ, and director; Novia is the singer. And just to point out (though this shouldn't matter at all, music is music, most people here don't care whether the artist is in what religion), both of them are Muslims too. Other great artists that you should listen to someday: Cakra Khan (pop), Lesti (dangdut, an Indonesian music), Raisa, Tulus, Judika, ohh there are so many. Hope you'll listen to them one day. And of course, another V.O.B. song, please! It's been a while since I listened to them. Finding them here on your channel is a pleasant surprise 🤗 Omg! This turned out as long as an essay 😅😅😅😅🙏🙏
This is powerful and timely, especially as there are those who seek to forbid music, art, expression, creativity, choice, progress, and open mind, especially from women, in the supposed name of religion. This is heartrending and gripping! And they are VERY VERY good!
I agree Annie, it's going to happen in our beautiful U.S. if the radical right continues to gain power. They are working for a single party authoritarian government with the support of the predominant religion of this country.
@@colinpate3059 radical right? Huh? What? For fucks sake you actually think someone who favors different goverenment policies than you must hate art? Omg. YOU are the problem!!!
I'm a year late but love your reactions to this song. Great that you played it back-to-back with different stopping points each time. Haven't seen that done before. I discovered them about 2 months ago and have great respect for them. Yes, they are very talented with a strong message in their songs. Thanks again for a great reaction!
Respect to your reaction to VOB. This is not only a band but a rebellion rock band. Every single they make is a protest song, a movement song. Thank you
This has been on my "Watch Later" list for quite some time, and I'm so glad I finally had a moment to sit down and watch it. First of all, this is definitely one of my favorite videos of yours simply because of how clearly you can see the genuine respect and admiration just shining through your eyes. Secondly, I am humbled by these women. Knowing what I know about the various aspects within Islam, this band is nothing short of fierce. Thank you for bringing this song to light and for a wonderful introduction into this section of metal.

Great reaction as always. VOB is a REAL joy to watch and a powerful story. The concert in France has good live performances to react. Also I suggest to you to try The Warning, another young female rock band, maybe their song "Money" from this year or their TED talks of University of Nevada when TW just started
Like I said in the chat: these powerful musicians don't need asking. Just play, and someone, somewhere will listen. Obvious statements aside, it's ultimately the love of music that unites us all. What i love about these girls is, they have a common interest and are facing the same basic problems as girls/women in islam which bonds pretty tight. Though Indonesia is considered as a moderate islamic country there are still some regions where you can easily get killed for doing what they do. They love doing music which you can clearly hear and see. They have passion and a motor that drives them. It´s full of passion and joy. What better base can you have to make music? I hope they can do music for a very long time and i wish them all the best and hopefully they stay safe.
Fun fact.. all these 3 girls are the youngest in their family, and if I am not mistaken, the girl playing bass is the only girl in her family. Yet, all three of them are allowed by their family to move to Jakarta upon high school graduation, in order to play music professionally. But too bad, pandemic happened so their concerts got cancelled, but it brought hidden blessings, cause these three girls soon "adopted" by lots of Indonesian rocks musician (who mostly live in Jakarta). Adopted as in becoming those musicians students. I've been following them, and gosh, their progress after 2020 is just so amazing. Their talent and music has become much more polished than before. In one of their interviews, they mentioned the advice that their parents gave before these three moved to Jakarta, which is to stay together whenever they are going somewhere..... LOL... which is funny cause that was also my daddy's advise before I moved out of the house. My daddy's exact advise is not to just go someplace I don't know with some guy I barely know. In Indonesia, there is a famous saying, that to take care 1 daughter is harder than to take care 100 goats, and here we have 3 girls so...😆
Love this band. They have a lot to teach us ALL and I'm certainly listening and learning. I'd strongly suggets V.O.B.'s new single "(Not) Public Property", released on International Women's Day. Their live tracks from Rennes, FR are fire too. Another band that I literally could not recommend high enough is a group called Band-Maid. A great jumping off point might be the MV for their song "Manners", which is the band's current maniphesto. They are just AMAZING! Great reaction and love your format! 🕊

A big shoutout for these girls who are "fighting" for doing things they like to do but that's not allowed, GO GIRLS !! Hi Christi. Over a year ago you reacted to "Valley of the Queens" by Ayreon (Floor Jansen/ Anneke van Giersbergen/ Marcela Bovio). BUT NOW ....... I hope you can find the time to react to this TOP LINEUP OF MANY MUSICAL INTRUMENTS/SINGERS: The Source is the 9th studio album from *AYREON* , a progressive metal/rock opera project by Dutch musician Arjen (Ahr-Yun) Anthony Lucassen, released on April 28, 2017. *_”The Day That The World Breaks Down”_* is a song that features all 11 (quite well known) main guest singers (you’ll be surprised) and is taken from that album. Arjen himself is telling (in subtitles) who the singers are and which instruments are used and by which standards. Btw. This creative original clip is 13 min. long and I think you won’t regret it !! Thank you for your cool reaction!!! On the International Woman Days (Last Month ? or Feb?) VOB released their new song titled "[NOT] Public Property" ... the Lyric has a strong message which is relevant to all women in the world, this can be for your next reaction...

First of all, I want to congratulate you for finding Voice of Baceprot, a metal band that the world needs right now, at least that's what Metal Hummer magazine said. see you are so interested in this band, I recommend you to see their performance in the link I provided below. ua-cam.com/video/UGJaikcQ8Ig/v-deo.html Here they are filling in for the Baybeats Festival online concert event. in this video you can very clearly hear the music and what messages they convey in their songs. Thank you sis Love u
Actually, all of their music is about social issues around them especially about women. They are only around 20 years old but they have become an iconic voice of rebellion for the grassroots. You should hear their last single with the title [Not] Public Property which was released on Woman's Day this year. Find the messages in the music, then let us know if you agree with them. ua-cam.com/video/QjmcZfOlopU/v-deo.html
They wrote and composed The Enemy of earth is you and What the Holy (Nobel) today several years ago and now we withness Ukraine War. Those songs had been played in their Europe Tour end of 2021.
VOB bukan hanya tentang musik,,, VOB bukan hanya membawa nama Indonesia ke kancah Dunia,,, Lebih dr itu VOB membawa perspektif baru bagi Dunia barat terkait Wanita Muslim berhijab khususnya WMB Indonesia. Perspektif baru yg positif,,, VOB 👍👍
Many tears and blood in their journey. In the beginning VOB vs everybody, they agsint family neberhood, some teacher in school and some konservatif and radikalis. But now vob have alot of suport from many comunity,
There's a lot more all female bands in Asian that are fantastic. Japan might have the most. My favorite being Band-Maid, I recommend their live shows. But also BRATS, Lovebites, Gaharic Spin, Nemophilia, Trident. Korea has Rolling Quartz. VOB is great and I hope the best for them. Please check out Band-Maid if you can and be ready for a ride!
Siti, Marsya and Widi was born in year 2000, same junior high school 🚸 and started playing in 2014 in a school 🚸 theater 🎭... But only three 3⃣ of them from 7 girls got the permission from their parents and move on till today.. Their Teacher Abah Erza let them explore the World 🗺 of Music 🎶 then they choose Hard Rock 🤘 Metal 🤘 as a Path... Woooooow incredible story ❤😂🎉😅😊
Hello, I am new to your channel and sorry I’m late to the party. 😊 I really like your way of reacting to the videos and your knowledgeable analysis of the music. I’m a 40+ year professional classical musician, mostly playing in orchestras but I never left my rock roots of the 70’s. That was my first venture into professional playing. Over the years I’ve done a lot of musical theatre both on stage and in the pit, and I’ve also delved deep into the World Music scene. I am also a composer and I love to mix genres. The reason I gave my background is I would like to lead you down a deep rabbit hole. I quickly went through your video list and saw you haven’t discovered the Japanese rock and metal scene. Right now it is probably the largest forum for young rock and metal bands, especially all female bands. There is Band-Maid, Lovebites, Nemophila, Trident, Bridear and many others. There also a lot of female fronted bands like BabyMetal, Unlucky Morpheus, and more. And then there are bands that are a pop/rock mix like Gacharic Spin, another all female group. One of my absolute favourite bands is Wagakki Band, a group that combines rock with traditional Japanese instruments. The list goes on and on so it is a very, very deep rabbit hole. 😊
Music culture in Indonesia has been carved for thousands of years in the reliefs of the javanesse temple. if you look at the "gamelan", some of the musical instruments are made of metal and heavy. thank you. respect from central java.
I find it very unfortunate though, that some people think they are "righteous" enough to force their thoughts upon others. And they're not even scholars 🤷🏻♀️. Just normal people who think they understand enough about their religion 🙃 (if they do understand, they wouldn't be extreme in forcing their opinion, because God said himself that Muslims are the middlemen... and that God does not like the extremes, whichever polar you're trying to defend)
They're not the majority but they pack a punch with their attitude and words, don't you think 🤷🏻♀️. Hence why you see these young talented girls criticized for wanting to sing and play music.
Official (Arjen’s) clip: ua-cam.com/video/oFuMKdrzPqU/v-deo.html

First of all, I want to congratulate you for finding Voice of Baceprot, a metal band that the world needs right now, at least that's what Metal Hummer magazine said.

Thank you sis

Very good reaction. The next VOB tour de Eropa live in Concert Rennes France Enter Sandman cover Metallica
Terimakasih ibu 🙏🇮🇩
Actually, all of their music is about social issues around them especially about women.
They are only around 20 years old but they have become an iconic voice of rebellion for the grassroots.
You should hear their last single with the title [Not] Public Property which was released on Woman's Day this year.
Find the messages in the music, then let us know if you agree with them.

VOB bukan hanya tentang musik,,,
Perspektif baru yg positif,,, VOB 👍👍

Drumer siti. Bassist. Widi. Guitar n vocal.marsya.
Thank u maam for the optimistic comment
Siti, Marsya and Widi was born in year 2000, same junior high school 🚸 and started playing in 2014 in a school 🚸 theater 🎭... But only three 3⃣ of them from 7 girls got the permission from their parents and move on till today.. Their Teacher Abah Erza let them explore the World 🗺 of Music 🎶 then they choose Hard Rock 🤘 Metal 🤘 as a Path... Woooooow incredible story ❤😂🎉😅😊
Ngopi " sambil dengerin music

Dio - the last in line ( live at the spectrum).. reaction.. thank you very much.
Next please reaction

VOB is amazing❤❤❤
Music culture in Indonesia has been carved for thousands of years in the reliefs of the javanesse temple. if you look at the "gamelan", some of the musical instruments are made of metal and heavy. thank you. respect from central java.
Naiis man...mantap....👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩
