I had a twin cab 79 for 5 years which had a reverse camera. Was interested in the modern 4cylinder with the auto box, but as soon as I saw the cheap looking external mirrors and narrower rear axle No sale it was for me.
These vehicles are for farms, serious off road and tradies, not an inner city cruiser. The last thing you need is all the useless rubbish like electric handbrakes and lane change assist. They are made for work, not taking the kids to school. A new vehicle without the crap, where do I sign up? The best snakes are the red ones. 😃
Definitely! In a world where cars are loaded with features, there's something refreshing about the no-frills approach of the LC79. While I personally lean towards creature comforts, I can appreciate the appeal of a straightforward, reliable vehicle. ps. Go the red snakes!!! 🐍🔴
the numbers don't seem right with this landcruiser... its a 4litre v8 but only 150kw but then $85k... seems like the engine can be re-tuned to output more power, maybe even turboed so it should be cheaper so that the savings can go into upgrading it..
The engine is detuned so that the manual gearbox can cope. It's so easy to turn up the wick on the V8 via a tune but the factory clutch will start slipping. So most folks who want the extra power will need to replace the standard clutch with a heavy duty clutch. Which is simply going to mean that the weakest point is now moved on to some other part of the driveline. Just remember that the driveline was designed a long time ago, when engines were nowhere near as powerful as today.
This simplicity is great that would never let u visit the mechanic at all, this is very important to a commercial truck.
The simplicity of the LC79 is its superpower.
to be honest, I'd be more interested in Amelia than the Landcruiser
Yess
Merica!
She will do videos on other cars.

1:04 The Arc Reactor
Its not a 2.4L 4 cylinder diesel, its a 2.8L. You would think they would do their research before filming it.
I have no interest in the car but I loved this review for a laugh 😂
Red snakes are the best by the way!
Wow a Toyota featured in the channel 😮
Every now and then we take a break from Korean cars and give a Toyota a go 😜
I want one!

The price should be $50K not $80K
Ah, the famous Toyota tax! You pay a premium, but you're also buying into that legendary reliability.
Blame it on inflation
The cricket sound effect was unnecessary 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Wish reviewers would put in the titles if its the old v8 or 2.8. No interest in the v8 as im sure some have no interest in the 2.8

Spot on! But Toyota have tuned it for durability and torque.

A 4 cylinder variant would be delivered quicker than the V8
Beats evs anyday. Will be running years after them.
The jokes really need to go

Way to much cash for a jeep
not worth it. too much money for a very basic ute.
Horse power ???
Most elementary info/number about cars arround the world !
1:27 Aussies use kilowatt instead of Hower power (151 KW ~ 202 HP)
Civilised countries use kilowatts, unless you’re over 65 years old 😂😂😂
