One of the endearing moments from Bangla cinema is that of the so called "good for nothing" Phul Da (Tapas Paul) shocking Bhombol Da (Anup Kumar) and his Chandobani Club gang members, by singing "Charana Dharite" at the home of Saraswati (Mahua Roychoudhury), impressing her parents.
Which is why, whenever I get a chance, I find myself crooning this Rabindrasangeet which was brought alive on screen by the legendary Hemanta Mukherjee in the film Dadar Kirti.
