There's only 12 notes in music like I always tell people, different octaves sure but still only 12 notes. So everything is going to remind you of something else at some point. Plus there's the fact that most musicians will sound at least a little like their influences. I come up with riffs or parts that Im later like that sounds like trivium or maiden or whatever, it happens.
