Paul Jr. builds a bike climbs on and drives it to the next gas station. My Father is an school biker and raced Top Fuel Harley's in the 70's and he built it HIMSELF and was a World Champion. As true bikers..it's not just the build but the ride. Jesse is THE SHIT. He's a true biker and that's what this shit is all about. Be true.

People in the bike world who build and ride will take a Jesse James bike any day, the OCC bike is corporate owned and outsourced to different craftsman different companies. Jesse can sculpt a piece of metal into beautiful, comfortable bike seat. JJ is the real deal.
My buddy worked @ OCC back years ago. He said "that place is like Disneyland" They CNC everything, while he hand made all their sheet metal work (tanks/fenders) on their bikes. He got into bike building because of Jesse James. OCC built or shall I say "assembled" nice bikes but they weren't practical or they were comic book themed. I personally would much rather have a El Diablo Chopper from WCC than ANY bike OCC builds.

I'm a huge Jesse James fan here and I think he's one of the best bike builders in the world ,but for everyone to just rag on Paul Junior as if he is not a true bike builder is absolutely ridiculous. Paul Jr. and Orange County Choppers in general has built some of the most beautiful bikes ever made. Paul jr. Deserve his respect and props.

He still has it in his garage today and it still runs like a champ. The motors are crate motors anyways. Those bikes will run and last as long as you take care of them just like any other bike.

Now to give you the benefit of the doubt I can understand that maybe some of these bikes are so extreme it wouldn't be advised to ride out of state or long distances at that. It was basically a t-shirt company and it existed for years and years before even one bike was built. JJ made $100 million off Chinese-made WCC merchandise during the 2000s, then became a licensing brand where anyone could purchase a license and slap the WCC logo on anything they want. He has it back now, but all of that shit is still made overseas even though he still gives the impression it's Made in the USA.

if I was going to pay someone a bunch of money to build me a bike (witch I woudent, id build my own if I could afford either of these guys bikes) BUT if I was going to buy one. it would not be some 40 foot long theme bike with a 4 liter gas tank. it would be a chopper that can do wheelies and at least ride out of one town and make it to the next.
the contest wasn't who can build the bike that will ride the furthest and longest, it was who can build the most creative, innovative bike. pjd's bikes always flow so nice, all the lines and curves. jessie built some awsome bikes, but i've seen him build way better than that plain jane red bike.

Paul Jr. is very creative. Jesse James is a great bike builder and has come prepared. All of Jesse Jame's bikes all look the same. The show was about who can bring something new to the table. Not who's bike is durable and ride longer rides. I'm glad Paul Jr. won! Jesse James was slowly going down hill anyways!

There was a show I think it was called Biker Build-off and they had to build a bike and then ride it to the location where it would be judged. That to me is proof in the pudding, build your shit and prove it has the lifeblood to make it out there on the open road! Otherwise, it's just a fucking trailer trophy!
i been riding since 1982 and i can say Jesse is 100% correct. OCC bikes are were crap, ... bar hoppers at best. Jesse built bikes to ride..,. .. ride all day. Maybe not in the potholed streets of NYC but out in Cali with all them long flat beautifully paved interstates.... yea, hell yea
It was way worse in the 1970s and 1980s. Back then, custom bikes at shows would be built beautifully, but the engines didn't run because they had no internals. Custom builders built them as art only. At least Paul Jr.'s bike can run and ride.

" Upon completion, the two builders bring their bikes to a mutually-agreed neutral location. When they meet, the two builders and their teams will begin a lengthy ride to a bike show. He started making choppers when they were not in vogue. Now he's moved onto classic hot rods, he uses old school tools, welds, he is a purist.

Paul Jr. drew his influence not from a P51 Mustang but rather from the garish Restoration Hardware furniture his airhead wife put in his office. Check out the Aviator Chair and Blackhawk tables from Restoration Hardware and you'll see exactly what I'm talking about. The guy has never had an original idea on any of his bikes. Jesse on the other hand may be an dickwhad but he truly has skills. As Jesse says "my bike's a rider" taunting Paul "I dare you to get on that hunk of sh!t and ride it".
I really liked the early bikes Jr built like the Black Widow and Comanche because they were hand made and him and Vinine would stand behind the bike and create something unique and cool Jr was in the fab shop cutting and bending parts and welding everything together and everyone was having fun at that time. I think later after they got famous and moved into the big building no one looked like they were enjoying themselves anymore, pressure deadlines etc.. The later bikes looked like they just threw together parts from a catalogue added a few custom items and called them done. Jr went back to his roots with this bike which was a hand built show bike and he deserved to win. Jesse had a good point but he showed up with a nothing special very safe Jesse James type build and that's why he lost.
Jesse was annoying at times.....this being one of them. I LOVED the video of him getting knocked on his ass when he started off to the wrong dude. I was hoping and glad that Paul Jr. won this Biker Build-off! this competition was about bringing something new to the table! Based on new themed design(s)! not based on what the bike builder uses to build a bike with certain tools and old school machines and how far a bike can travel on the road! I mean Jesse James has some nice bikes and he's smart for mileage too! but, Jesse Jame's bike in this Biker Build-off looked similar to his other signature bikes! and idk wat Paul Sr. was thinking but looked like he was having a good time even tho he build something that's not even close to a two-wheel motorized vehicle!

Design yes. Building... I don’t know. I’ve seen episodes where they actually cut into the frame to make pieces fit. That’s extremely unsafe and would render the bike unridable. I also saw them use super adhesive two sided tape to hold pieces down because they couldn’t figure out how to weld or bolt them on in a hard to reach area. I sure wouldn’t want to spend 120k on a bike that had parts held on by tape. I’d also love to see what that warranty actually covered. Either way, I guess if you got 100+ K to spend on a bike, you got the money to get it fixed too.
If you watch that show the guys that looked at Jesse's bike were really impressed with his build JR just wowed them on a theme bike, anyway whatever happen to to riding the bikes across the states like #INDIANLARRY did ?

the contest wasn't who can build the bike that will ride the furthest and longest, it was who can build the most creative, innovative bike. pjd's bikes always flow so nice, all the lines and curves. jessie built some awsome bikes, but i've seen him build way better than that plain jane red bike.

Paul Jr. is very creative. Jesse James is a great bike builder and has come prepared. All of Jesse Jame's bikes all look the same. The show was about who can bring something new to the table. Not who's bike is durable and ride longer rides. I'm glad Paul Jr. won! Jesse James was slowly going down hill anyways!

There was a show I think it was called Biker Build-off and they had to build a bike and then ride it to the location where it would be judged. That to me is proof in the pudding, build your shit and prove it has the lifeblood to make it out there on the open road! Otherwise, it's just a fucking trailer trophy!
i been riding since 1982 and i can say Jesse is 100% correct. OCC bikes are were crap, ... bar hoppers at best. Jesse built bikes to ride..,. .. ride all day. Maybe not in the potholed streets of NYC but out in Cali with all them long flat beautifully paved interstates.... yea, hell yea

It was way worse in the 1970s and 1980s. Back then, custom bikes at shows would be built beautifully, but the engines didn't run because they had no internals. Custom builders built them as art only. At least Paul Jr.'s bike can run and ride.
I find it funny how so many people can say Jr had the best bike when if this show used the original biker build off rules it would have failed miserably. " Upon completion, the two builders bring their bikes to a mutually-agreed neutral location. When they meet, the two builders and their teams will begin a lengthy ride to a bike show. At the bike show, the two bikes will be showcased and a winner decided by an audience ballot. " Jr's would have never made the trip.
You said it PUCKUSMC29. J.James rolls the thunder. I went to is WCC shop and he was famous at the time, but was hands on looking at the bikes and cars like a mechanic. He has been saying that the whole Chopper thing has become trendy and the fact that the audience voted for that silly looking bike not made for a serious rider, proves Jesse is right. He started making choppers when they were not in vogue. Now he's moved onto classic hot rods, he uses old school tools, welds, he is a purist.
It was a Build Off for what the Audience liked more. Not - who can go the furthest or who's is most comfortable. Jr won and that puts all the BS to bed...

The moral of the story is, when your competing to build a show bike, build a show bike. Or build a "rider" then lose, and bitch you lost, because you didn't follow the criteria.

The stipulation was to build the best looking bike, not build a "rider" Jesse knew Paul built a better bike so he had to take the low road and complain/find things to make fun a Paul who actually built a better looking bike - Change the rules around, sure Paul could have built a "rider" but that wasnt the stipulation so he was smarter and won.

Paul Jr. drew his influence not from a P51 Mustang but rather from the garish Restoration Hardware furniture his airhead wife put in his office. Check out the Aviator Chair and Blackhawk tables from Restoration Hardware and you'll see exactly what I'm talking about. The guy has never had an original idea on any of his bikes. Jesse on the other hand may be an dickwhad but he truly has skills. As Jesse says "my bike's a rider" taunting Paul "I dare you to get on that hunk of sh!t and ride it".
They should have had to ride them 1k miles and that would have shown the true builder.
I really liked the early bikes Jr built like the Black Widow and Comanche because they were hand made and him and Vinine would stand behind the bike and create something unique and cool Jr was in the fab shop cutting and bending parts and welding everything together and everyone was having fun at that time. I think later after they got famous and moved into the big building no one looked like they were enjoying themselves anymore, pressure deadlines etc.. The later bikes looked like they just threw together parts from a catalogue added a few custom items and called them done. Jr went back to his roots with this bike which was a hand built show bike and he deserved to win. Jesse had a good point but he showed up with a nothing special very safe Jesse James type build and that's why he lost.

Ironically West Coast Choppers never made a dime from building bikes, nor did they even make many bikes during their heyday. It was basically a t-shirt company and it existed for years and years before even one bike was built. JJ made $100 million off Chinese-made WCC merchandise during the 2000s, then became a licensing brand where anyone could purchase a license and slap the WCC logo on anything they want. He has it back now, but all of that shit is still made overseas even though he still gives the impression it's Made in the USA.
I was hoping and glad that Paul Jr. won this Biker Build-off! this competition was about bringing something new to the table! Based on new themed design(s)! not based on what the bike builder uses to build a bike with certain tools and old school machines and how far a bike can travel on the road! I mean Jesse James has some nice bikes and he's smart for mileage too! but, Jesse Jame's bike in this Biker Build-off looked similar to his other signature bikes! and idk wat Paul Sr. was thinking but looked like he was having a good time even tho he build something that's not even close to a two-wheel motorized vehicle!

Jessie does have a good point, a bike is worthless if you can not ride it. Most of the bikes that Paul Jr builds are made to just sit there a have people drool on them. Jessie's bikes can be ridden and are far more practical. As far as these guy's personal lives, I could care less, it has nothing to do with their product.

Design yes. Building... I don’t know. I’ve seen episodes where they actually cut into the frame to make pieces fit. That’s extremely unsafe and would render the bike unridable. I also saw them use super adhesive two sided tape to hold pieces down because they couldn’t figure out how to weld or bolt them on in a hard to reach area.
I sure wouldn’t want to spend 120k on a bike that had parts held on by tape.
I’d also love to see what that warranty actually covered. Either way, I guess if you got 100+ K to spend on a bike, you got the money to get it fixed too.
If you watch that show the guys that looked at Jesse's bike were really impressed with his build JR just wowed them on a theme bike, anyway whatever happen to to riding the bikes across the states like #INDIANLARRY did ?
