      I think there are a few different varieties out there. This one is much more selinicereus dominant... In my opinion, it's the mother plant of the cross.

      Most of the plants are growing or blooming, so maybe later this season. I can refer you to some awesome farms that sell cuttings if you want them now.

      I don't sell seeds and like to trade for my verified varieties (fruit, flower, and source)... I will swap and sell on occasion within the USA and make sure the other person involved knows my source.

    Is it mostly luck involved in creating new variety or is there a system to follow

    • @RAREDRAGONFRUIT
      @RAREDRAGONFRUIT  3 роки тому

      I think there is a system involved and mine is to develop sun hardy varieties that can take our climate without issue. I also have a different system to develop a new colored flower. I guess it really depends on your goals and how much time you are willing to spend to do it right.

    Sorry to be the one to tell you. This, but it is highly unlikely that your S-4 cutting is actually S-4. I have that plant, (from the most reputable source there is) and it looks nothing like your cutting. Mine is much more slender stems.

    • @RAREDRAGONFRUIT
      @RAREDRAGONFRUIT  3 роки тому

      Don't be sorry, I appreciate it. Can you send me some photos to whatplantisthatpaul@gmail.com ? I have over 60 unknowns and expected the S-4 to look more like the others S series (besides S-8)... I happen to have 48 cuttings from George Emerich jr's farm and he was known to swap cuttings and compete with Paul Thomson, so photos would be very helpful :) Thanks for helping out!

    Can anyone tell me which is the SWEETEST DRAGON FRUIT IN THE WHOLE WORLD?!?!? I was told it was something called the ISIS Yellow. Which I paid a high price for and have. If it is then im happy and if its not I have to murder someone lol So which is the sweetest Dragon Fruit in the world?

    • @RAREDRAGONFRUIT
      @RAREDRAGONFRUIT  Рік тому

      Sweetest is Yellow Palora, not Isis. It can brix at 25%. I prefer the guatemalans, like American Beauty, THe brix at 22%, but have smaller seeds and more complexity.
