The people in the comments seem to forget the special interaction of Mesmeric Orb and Mothman. Mesmeric Orb triggers off each permanent being untapped separately. So Mothman does trigger that many times as well. She’s just electing to put all those triggers on the moth.
At around 43:00, after CGB cast Everybody Lives, Shea drew a card from Poliwog. This was her second card drawn and thus CGB would have had to draw from Faerie Mastermind and he would had died to Sheoldred before Everybody Lives resolved.
I don't think Shea had drawn any cards previously because the Faerie Mastermind activation hadn't resolved yet, since Blade activated the Ring in response.
I want to shout out WotC this year, because three of these commanders are precon commanders. They really knocked it out of the park with decks this year.
The amount of times shea gets to just play big threats over and over and over and over and always gets away with it is honestly starting to get annoying, compounded by the fact that she always plays **annoying** decks
i think Ben deserves to win purely based on the fact that he has learnt how to say 'Valgavoth' if that ain't character development, I dunno what is. proud of you man!
I think the Mothman will win because I have a Mothman deck myself :) It's almost like I'd win Edit: Funny thing with Syr Konrad seeing your commander die is that it deals 1 damage for your commander dying and then deals 1 again when it goes to the command zone, because it left the graveyard to go to the command zone ('704.6d In a Commander game, if a commander is in a graveyard or in exile and that object was put into that zone since the last time state-based actions were checked, its owner may put it into the command zone' - not a replacement effect, you get the choice after it hits the graveyard)
This game was son incredible fun to watch! Thank you guys for the great vibes. I have found your show this year I am almost out of old chapter to see, you have been great, the dynamics between you are incredible (we need more of Gina, she is so charming on camera) and its obvious that you are a bunch of friends playing the game without any unnecesasary exageration or anything, you can get salty with each other and still be the coolest of all. Thank you for helping me pass this really crappy year, see you in 2025 :)
Nice game. Thanks for the effort to keep the stack clear for people to follow the game. Minor nitpick at 47:43, technically the creatures do deal damage during the Everybody Lives! effect, only the life loss is prevented, not the damage. So CGB should have drawn from the Kutzil trigger.
I was so happy when I saw the thumb because it was just a bunch of my favorite decks from the show this year, not to mention three of four being in circulation in my main pod
this game is hilarious! what a way to end 2024! i’m laughing at all the triggers that goes on the stack and evryone squirming at all the painful mills, damages, and losses of life 🤣 Happy New Year Team CovertGoBlue!
Shea already won best of the year. Don't even need to watch the game... but I will anyway. (Although CGB keeps bringing us banger content so... maybe CGB is actually just the winner overall?)
CGB misunderstood the blood chief trigger. The life gain is not dependent on the loss of life occuring, they are resolved separately. Even after CGB died, the triggers still resolve.
Yeah, some of those triggers were not resolved correctly, plus I think the life gain of the bloodchief ascension would have gone off even without the opponent surviving as it’s a trigger from the ascension, and not something that targets the opponent
It's hard to believe not 1 of you had any artifact removal that entire game with all the cards drawn 😅. Not sure if you don't run it, or just dont run enough artifact/enchantment removal but that killed me to watch 😂. Shea does it again!
yet another reminder i need to make sure i have sufficient interaction in my decks if for no other reason than to keep stacks manageable from permanents going crazy every upkeep and end step lmao
Ngl Blake's gameplay choices this year have made it very hard to beleive, but I BELEIVE! He will finally win, calendar or not. #1 Blake supporter. 😊 My pre match prediction. Let's get it
Bloodchief Ascension's second ability should still gain life even if the opponents don't lose life due to Everybody Lives right? Since the second ability is only checking if you elect to cause opponents to lose life, and not checking to see if life was actually lost.
I wanted to get myself a ms Bumbleflower deck partly because of this show. sadly couldn’t find one in any of the lgs around me… hope the bunny proves itself again
At 5:44 and my bet is on… Ms. Bumbleflower piloted by CGB. The only way that doesn’t happen is if they all gang up to murder CGB quickly or he draws into enough bricks somehow to build a house because this combination is a menace.
Shea is even more of a menace! I guess they did kind of team up against CGB with the dual-burn and punish strategies out of Shea and Ben just slicing through CGB's and Blake's life totals. Blake also helped by not being very helpful against either of these strategies and being overly-content to just watch CGB burn, even if he burned to death with him… GOOD GAME~ ALL~!
When CGB dies Sheas bloodchief triggers get exiled on the stack for the cards he previously milled. Im a bit confused as the owner of bloodchief wouldn’t Shea still get the life gain triggers as she is the controller of bloodchief and those triggers are hers?
When an ability is worded using "if you do", as Bloodchief Ascension's is, the part that comes before is a cost (rule 118.12). In this case, since CGB has left the game, the cost cannot be paid. Therefore, the part of the ability that depends on that cost (gaining 2 life) doesn't happen.
19:26 this is not how the Mothman works. If you read the text again, it says that X amount of creatures gets ONE counter each. You cannot give one creature X counters :) Great video as always, happy holidays and happy new year!
This game is once again a prime example for dummy commended players to PLAY MORE REMOVAL. It's hilarious that players that play an adequate and not overboard # of removal spells get labeled control players, like crim, but ffs, PSA build a balanced deck with removal as well as ramp and everything else!
ss that actually how it works? you can draw cards from the one ring leaving the sheoldred trigger on the stack and you can just keep playing? I would think the effect of the one ring would go on the stack (instead of immediately resolving they they were doing every time, and as it resolves you immediately get pinged my Sheoldred. I am a long time returning player though so I'm probably wrong. The stacking in this game just didn't seem correct throughout the vid. how they would all draw a bunch of cards but leave all the damage stacks from sheoldred being to resolve later.
Correct me if I'm wrong, and it wouldnt have really mattered in this instance.. but CGB wouldn't have drawn a card off of Kutzil because with everyone having protection, no damage was dealt, therefore, Kutzil's ability wouldn't have triggered. Correct?
At that point he drew from the Twenty-Toed Toad attack trigger. Technically he should have drawn from Kutzil. Since the damage is not prevented, just the life loss.
The stack interaction this game.... Pure insanity
I think this is the most stack interaction/confusion I've seen in a long time tbh 😆
The people in the comments seem to forget the special interaction of Mesmeric Orb and Mothman. Mesmeric Orb triggers off each permanent being untapped separately. So Mothman does trigger that many times as well. She’s just electing to put all those triggers on the moth.
"Iam not mad, Iam just angry". Best quote
At around 43:00, after CGB cast Everybody Lives, Shea drew a card from Poliwog. This was her second card drawn and thus CGB would have had to draw from Faerie Mastermind and he would had died to Sheoldred before Everybody Lives resolved.
also he cant target her with miss bumbleflower from talisman, because all players have hexproof
Doesn't Miss Bumbleflower also have draw cards as part of her second cast trigger?
I don't think Shea had drawn any cards previously because the Faerie Mastermind activation hadn't resolved yet, since Blade activated the Ring in response.
Shoutout to the editor for making everything that was said in the intro - the confetti, the balloons, I laughed out loud 😂
The stack this game was next level. Thank god CGB is all over it. Thanks for the year of content, its been a great watch. Much love from Down Under.
"I'm not mad, I'm just angry." Is a mood, and I can emphasize Blake.
CGB: i hate group hug
Also CGB: my commander of the year is Ms bumbleflower
I want to shout out WotC this year, because three of these commanders are precon commanders. They really knocked it out of the park with decks this year.
Shea, 6 straight turns of playing an unanswered threat that can end the game. Turn 7: I'm gonna do it again!
The amount of times shea gets to just play big threats over and over and over and over and always gets away with it is honestly starting to get annoying, compounded by the fact that she always plays **annoying** decks
i think Ben deserves to win purely based on the fact that he has learnt how to say 'Valgavoth' if that ain't character development, I dunno what is. proud of you man!

its so crazy watching how far this show has come from the first episode to now, honestly awesome and such a joy to watch
Before watching, mothman feeds valgavoth.
They’re both moths, makes sense 😂
eh, true but valgavoth decks also feed valgavoth so its just nice redundancy
It turned out to be the opposite 😂
True, but…
This game was son incredible fun to watch! Thank you guys for the great vibes. Thank you guys. Happy New Year!
The moth calls. The great predictor of disaster and I'm feeling a disaster of a game in this one. Mothman on top.
Don't quit Blake! Resolutions are made to be broken
Have you guys considered playing removal?
imagine what literally any amount of boardwipe would have done to this game
Prematch, Blake gets his Millennium Calendar dub because I dont want him to quit
This was pure insanity, love it!
Nice game. Thanks for the effort to keep the stack clear for people to follow the game.
Minor nitpick at 47:43, technically the creatures do deal damage during the Everybody Lives! effect, only the life loss is prevented, not the damage. So CGB should have drawn from the Kutzil trigger.
Don't quit Blake, just quit Calendar 😂
I look forward to seeing Blake’s resignation letter posted on the channel feed. Valgavoth will be victorious 6:32
Good job on keeping track on most stack triggers. I think a few Valgavoths might have been missed. Amazing game to end the year and congratz Shae
Happy New Year to my favorite Commander show!
I was so happy when I saw the thumb because it was just a bunch of my favorite decks from the show this year, not to mention three of four being in circulation in my main pod
And for who I think is gonna win I gotta go with Shea, I think Mothman’s finally coming through today
MOTHMAAAAAAAAAN!!
Best episode of the year. Glad to see my favorite Commander win!
Very fun game!! Yall need to run more removal though 😂
I'm not even halfway into this game and it is already SPICY as hell!
this game is hilarious! what a way to end 2024! i’m laughing at all the triggers that goes on the stack and evryone squirming at all the painful mills, damages, and losses of life 🤣 Happy New Year Team CovertGoBlue!
Looking forward to 2025 watching you guys jam some more games!
Best episode yet (and not just because Shea won)! Happy new year!!!
idk if it wins idc, LET THE CALENDER WIN!!!! BLAKE WE BELIEVE!
Well, it was a good game! Happy New Year!
Thank you all for an amazing year. Has been a blast spending time with you. Much love, and looking forward to hanging with you in the year to come 🌸🌺💕
I'm happy shea won, also cgb mentioning the mighty ducks is funny too. Great movies
That was a super fun game.
Thanks and happy new year
Great game guys.
More proof that removal wins games
The wise moth man! It's just going to feed off Miss Bumbleflower.
that foil treatment of Ms Bumbleflower is not gonna help my wallet
Being a Millennium Calendar fan myself, I'm gonna have to root for Derevi!
Just from the title alone I'm expecting Shea to win with some landfall calendar shenanigans. Somehow also using craterhoof.
39:20 How did Shea not attack with lethal Mothman into Valgavoth?
I’m gonna miss Blake.
The Ms. Bumbleflower hugs are gonna pull through I know it
Edit: sheoldred has hit the board it’s so over
The triggered effects this game were crazy!
I think Blake's time for a Calendar win has finally come.
Awesome game, congrats to the winner!! 🎉 thanks for a fun year of games
Before even watching, I'm betting blake brought a millennium calendar deck
I want to believe the calendar. Let there be a thousand damage to end it all this year.
As someone who grew up with xbox and cryptids the mothman deck is my favorite.
As a man of culture myself, I have list many a game trying to make the millenium calendar work, so I'm rooting for Benjamin today
Please don't quit, Blake! Maybe just quit trying to make the Calendar work...
GuAaaaaaaaauuuuu, increíble, partidaza💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽
Shea already won best of the year. Don't even need to watch the game... but I will anyway. (Although CGB keeps bringing us banger content so... maybe CGB is actually just the winner overall?)
yup I was right. Shea has just been a beast this year so like... yeah lol
The deck I ordered was my Bria infect deck. I bet that Shea would like it because it can give Inkmoth prowess and unblockable.
Shay dominated from the start! Congrats on the win!
47:50 Everyone has hexproof so shea cant draw a card from Ms. Bumbleflower triggering, right?
Thanks everybody! Enjoyed the game and the show ! 🎉🎉😂
shea with her hands up like im scared ben lol lmao
mesmeric orb is single instances of mill so mothman triggers each time one at a time not all at once
I'm gonna say Ben with Valgavoth.
6:03 I’ll say… as much as it pains me… Bumbleflower. But I am forever rooting for the calendar win, if only to cut to a shot of Aggretsuko
Calendar! That's my prediction. Let's go!
yet another reminder i need to make sure i have sufficient interaction in my decks if for no other reason than to keep stacks manageable from permanents going crazy every upkeep and end step lmao
This shae mill is so much value it’s insane
Ngl Blake's gameplay choices this year have made it very hard to beleive, but I BELEIVE! He will finally win, calendar or not. #1 Blake supporter. 😊 My pre match prediction. Let's get it
Video is on 6:06 at time of prediction: I don't want Blake to leave the show so he has to win!
59:40 I should have seen that coming.
Bloodchief Ascension's second ability should still gain life even if the opponents don't lose life due to Everybody Lives right? Since the second ability is only checking if you elect to cause opponents to lose life, and not checking to see if life was actually lost.
Yeah, pretty much. Since it doesn't target you still get to make the choice to offer the loss of life.
thought the same, luckilyit didnt matter
Damn, crazy start from Shae. Where’s the interaction boys??!?!
banger game to end the year
Shea missed an opportunity not taping rad counters under seats😊
Sheaters be Sheating
wait so does mothman trigger only once for the rads or does he trigger x individual times equal to nonland cards milled durng rads?
One trigger for each instance of milling, with x being the number of nonlands that were milled in that particular instance.
@mikec5563 are there any official rulings with this? Only asking because my pod is extremely anal with this stuff
I wanted to get myself a ms Bumbleflower deck partly because of this show. sadly couldn’t find one in any of the lgs around me… hope the bunny proves itself again
Bloomburrow decks are getting a 2nd print run, you can preorder them for january i think.
13:39 CGB casually milling £250
The Christmas episode Christmas episode card!!!
Putting my money on the bunny. Maybe not the smartest bet, but group hug is the most fun.
Mesmeric Orb plus Bloodchief's Ascension is truly disgusting.
"idk how this game goes 2 more turns" 30 mins still left lmao
Bumbleflower and valgavoth are like complete polar opposites lol
At 5:44 and my bet is on… Ms. Bumbleflower piloted by CGB. The only way that doesn’t happen is if they all gang up to murder CGB quickly or he draws into enough bricks somehow to build a house because this combination is a menace.
Shea is even more of a menace! I guess they did kind of team up against CGB with the dual-burn and punish strategies out of Shea and Ben just slicing through CGB's and Blake's life totals. Blake also helped by not being very helpful against either of these strategies and being overly-content to just watch CGB burn, even if he burned to death with him… GOOD GAME~ ALL~!
im gonna miss Blake! rip buddy~ good luck on your endevours
Obviously, the best player will win!
Thanks for the entertainment. :)
An interesting fact, that Ms. Bumbleflower card costs over $200 dollars. I should know, I want it soooo bad!
I love that bumbleflower… wish I could get one without having to remortgage
When CGB dies Sheas bloodchief triggers get exiled on the stack for the cards he previously milled. Im a bit confused as the owner of bloodchief wouldn’t Shea still get the life gain triggers as she is the controller of bloodchief and those triggers are hers?

Blake stay on this show please try keep going for that win please
Before watching I hope Blake wins because I want him to stay on the show
Looks like The Wise Mothman showes they were the dominate moth this game lol
Can’t believe Shea Takes out Blake (guess)
19:26 this is not how the Mothman works. If you read the text again, it says that X amount of creatures gets ONE counter each. You cannot give one creature X counters :)
Great video as always, happy holidays and happy new year!
You are correct in understanding how mothman works, but mesmeric orbs puts separate triggers on the stack, so that mothman can get several counters.
Shouldn't Valgavoth be much larger?
I'm going to miss Blake. RIP king.
This game is once again a prime example for dummy commended players to PLAY MORE REMOVAL. It's hilarious that players that play an adequate and not overboard # of removal spells get labeled control players, like crim, but ffs, PSA build a balanced deck with removal as well as ramp and everything else!
