It's like you knew I needed this video today, haha. I am dragging my feet on finishing this first draft of my current fantasy project and I have 18ish scenes left and around 20k words left. I need to just get it done!!! Congrats on finishing another draft!

🥳 Congratulations! You made it! You hit your goal. Also, i'm so impressed you can tell a complete story with only 50K words. 😭 This is not a skill I have right now, as you might recall. 😆 My. new one took 25K words to get to the inciting incident...
@31:12 - you can always fix it later. This is my mantra! 😅
I made it! I survived the draft 👏😂🥳 I promise just because this story is 50,000 words, it doesn't mean that it is fully fleshed out and explored. It is what I needed it to be lol. I have the bones/foundation at its most basic form.
I don't think that is too terrible with your story. I know we've chatted about it in the past lol but I think that's your process and I think that's great (although you probably don't think it's great when you have to go back and edit lol)!
@@AutumnAshleigh oh, first/second drafts always have possible improvements, I didn't think you were ready to hit publish yet. 😄 I'm proud of you for sticking through to the end! (And as for us talking about editing...I've never gotten through a third draft so this year has some lofty goals. How exactly does one make 250K words into a 100K novel? Just make a duology??) 🤣
