Dude. Thank you. There is *zero* bass coverage from any of the "major" gear sites/mags/whatever. I saw markbass had a tube DI pedal that looked pretty sweet. It would be cool if you could get a hold of one to review. Thanks for doing great content like this.
DUDE!!!! I had the SAME experience with the Ibanez headless!!!!! I pre-ordered mine as soon as I got home!!! I played everything else at NAMM, including the Keisel and ended up back at Ibanez...EVERY DAY!!!!
Solid breakdown! I didn’t know about ashdown and markbass announced they’re making basses. The Ibanez basses are definitely something to look forward too. I’m also disappointed Epiphone announced like 10 guitars but 0 basses lol
Thanks for the NAMM round up for us bass players. Unfortunately most UA-camrs don't pay too much attention to the bass stuff when they cover NAMM. PS: What is that black reversed headstock in the background?
This is my first time watching your show I really enjoyed it. I'm a bass player and I've been looking for a channel that's devoted Basses and Bass gear. Thanks for the channel.
I was just watching the video and afterwards checking on views and subs and I was shocked. The video feels very well made. Simple but good. Gonna check out some more of you!
Great video Namm coverage... our tastes are very similar....I was surprised to hear about mark bass and Ashdown making or having basses made for them it would be cool if ashdown partnered with Kiesel or someone who really offers cool new innovative basses
I’ve been playing a 30” scale headless neck through made by Chris Stambaugh in NH for the last year. 5.5lbs, plays like a dream, sounds like a beast. EMG P/J set works awesome with it, too. All my other basses sit at home, this is the one I gig with every week.
I hope you got to meet Marco Cortes of Marco Bass. He’s not only a truly gifted luthier, he’s one of the nicest people ever. A truly sweet and humble individual.
I just want to say I love the roasted necks. Not sure if it does anything for tone, but it’s cool eye candy to me. Music Man/Sterling & G&L have that as an option. Good stuff.
all these headless basses... i’ve never wanted to get back on upright again so intensely. my corpse would not even deign to be buried NEAR a headless bass.
Hey Patrick. I don'r know if you are even allowed to talk about this, but at the Darkglass Booth i saw a Headphone/Cabsim pedal which i just WANT. They teased it on instagram i believe, but man. Great video as always, thanks.
NAMM was kickass this year, I think beetronics was my favorite booth. Also I saw you like twice at Darkglass but was too awkward to say hi so hi I guess
I was hoping to see some multi/ extended scale basses come down in price. I realize it increases production costs, but there are decent mid-hundreds USD extended range guitars. The bass market just isn't keeping up. 35" doesn't really cut it even for drop A that well IMO, let alone F#.
Not a fan of anything headless - for me, it would be like dating a girl with no head! 🤣 I think headstocks add just as much “personality” to an instrument as does the body style. Imagine a Rickenbacker 4001 without that iconic headstock... Yes, the Dingwall basses were for me the best in show! I actually saw you in the Neural DSP booth and wanted to say hi but opted not to butt in to your conversation 😄 Keep up the great work Patrick 👍🏻
Why do you prefer the Ibanez to the Dingwall? Asking because I'm torn between those 2, if there was a headless 37" multiscale, I'd be sold immediately.
That Mike Watt bass is for sure something he would play, I know he had a weird horned single humbucker green bass and used to jam on a EB-0. But I'm so glad to see amp companies get back into bass building, the only companies I can think of were Peavey and orange who still kind of do still make some, and I know Peavey had some pretty solid basses, dunno how Orange's basses are, but definitely can't wait to see what Mark bass comes out with!
Hello Patrick, what is your real experience with the Sandberg Electra Vs4 bass, compared to a Precision fender? and having a body in basswood .... what do you say? thanks
I started on a short scale and moved up to full scale some time after, but I'd still like another short scale just for portability....had my eye on the Fallout but my heart sank on seeing the price. I'd love for G&L to do a Tribute version with those same colors (love the Miami Blue, but the British Racing Green with white competition stripes has my full attention). Guess it's the Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar bass at a local guitar shop til then...
@@cursedforanovice1072 I rather fancy a Gretsch Junior Jet. Very affordable at £300 in UK, less in the US. Much as I try to improve on the full scale my hands are simply too small. I have a very short scale Jedson bass which is much more playable for me, but the sound is a bit love it or loathe it.
Great vid, but I feel like there was no recognition of the new Legator bass line they just unveiled. I keep refreshing you tube with the Legator booth for 2020 Namm and have seen nothing.
I’m still in high school, and j have this cheaper Ibanez, but I’m thinking about saving for the Ibanez ehb when it releases, do you think that’s a overkill or should I just save and buy it cuz I’ve never spent more than $500 on an instrument
Bro, maybe this is not intentional, but "handmade in the USA" vs "Made in Korea/Indonesia/China" does't mean different quality per se. High end models made in Indonesia/Korea/China are really good. The main difference is that in Indonesia/Korea/China they are produce in mass, people get paid shitty wages, and they go into the industry out of necessity, but in the USA usually are boutique luthiers, they get paid way better and they go into the industry with more personal motivations.
I think this video would've been better off with the title "Here's how over-excited I got about colours & gimmicks''... Was there anything you saw that wasn't 'awesome', 'amazing' or 'super cool' ?. I take it you enjoyed the show though.. How about next year, giving us some actual demos or detailed descriptions other than the colours & gimmicks.
Dude. Thank you. There is *zero* bass coverage from any of the "major" gear sites/mags/whatever. I saw markbass had a tube DI pedal that looked pretty sweet. It would be cool if you could get a hold of one to review. Thanks for doing great content like this.
Exsctly this 👆👌
Best bass channel on UA-cam.
agree
I prefer Bassic Gear Review, but this guy is close.
@Rufus Mann you're the best

Awe nice! Made it in one of your videos! Thanks Patrick!
Love the new builders coming out! Competition means better and better products at affordable price points!!
Thank you for this channel. I have been looking for a good entertaining bass gear show.
Summary: Everything was: ‚gosh sooo damn cool and played ahhhh soooo well.‘
DUDE!!!! I had the SAME experience with the Ibanez headless!!!!! I pre-ordered mine as soon as I got home!!! I played everything else at NAMM, including the Keisel and ended up back at Ibanez...EVERY DAY!!!!
Thanks Patrick. My man!
Hey brother! I was very blessed to get to meet you! Awesome recap video. I totally agree with your points! Thanks for the picture shoutout!
Solid breakdown! I didn’t know about ashdown and markbass announced they’re making basses. The Ibanez basses are definitely something to look forward too. I’m also disappointed Epiphone announced like 10 guitars but 0 basses lol
Mark website has listed their basses for months.
Thanks for the NAMM round up for us bass players. Unfortunately most UA-camrs don't pay too much attention to the bass stuff when they cover NAMM.
PS: What is that black reversed headstock in the background?
i love your videos dude great quality , you are kinda underrated
Appreciate all the nice bass pron.
This is my first time watching your show I really enjoyed it. I'm a bass player and I've been looking for a channel that's devoted Basses and Bass gear. Thanks for the channel.
We gotta get a Serek Sacramento on here, Pat. A work of art.
Thank you for the NAMM bass video, as another comment mentioned, bass stuff gets like zero coverage anywhere.
Subscribed !!!
I'm so glad you did this video. People ignore the bass stuff way too much. It pisses me off!
I was just watching the video and afterwards checking on views and subs and I was shocked. The video feels very well made. Simple but good. Gonna check out some more of you!
I was at NAMM as well and you described it perfectly....but I LOVE IT!
Love your channel but even more, your enthusiasm for bass and music :)
Great video Namm coverage... our tastes are very similar....I was surprised to hear about mark bass and Ashdown making or having basses made for them it would be cool if ashdown partnered with Kiesel or someone who really offers cool new innovative basses
The serek midwestern has got to be one of the coolest basses i‘ve ever seen!
I love that Ashdown and Mark Bass are making basses! And that Orange pedal sounds BA
That Ibanez looks beast man!!!
love that slammed look!
I’ve been playing a 30” scale headless neck through made by Chris Stambaugh in NH for the last year. 5.5lbs, plays like a dream, sounds like a beast. EMG P/J set works awesome with it, too. All my other basses sit at home, this is the one I gig with every week.
Woohoo! Finally, another video. Was in withdrawal Patrick.
Check out the Rivolta Combinata VII bass. Medium scale 32". Introduced at Summer NAMM but kicked it into gear for Winter NAMM.
Would love to see a Serek Lincoln featured on the channel.
You and me both!
Definitely want to get my hands on one. They look and sound incredible. If only I had a spare $2500...
The only other bass I know of with an onboard distortion circuit is Bill Gould's signature Zon. I love that idea.
I hope you got to meet Marco Cortes of Marco Bass. He’s not only a truly gifted luthier, he’s one of the nicest people ever. A truly sweet and humble individual.
great video
cheers from brazil
I just want to say I love the roasted necks. Not sure if it does anything for tone, but it’s cool eye candy to me. Music Man/Sterling & G&L have that as an option. Good stuff.
I would very much like to see a Serek's Armitage bass test on this channel. Great video!
One thing I can say - Patrick Hunter seems like a really nice dude.
I'd really like to see you playing the G&L Fallout, absolutely great looking and promising short scale bass!
Would love to see ur take on a Spector. I recently bought a 2nd hand legend classic and have fallen in love with it.
Belgium, Paul Belgrado S.I. Is from 🇧🇪, not Germany. Happy he gets noticed with his gifted hands!
YOU sir: are NOT a dick.
Your videos always are on point ...
Brilliant video Patrick. Is Namm open to anyone or do you have to be in the industry to get in?
How many bass guitars do you have Patrick!? Looking foward to a headless jam vid
Thank you Patrick !!
Whoa! Thats a lotta basses. What does that Serek with the dog eared P90 sound like... with flats? Great video! This is awesome
Get you someone that looks at you like Patrick is looking at that matte sea foam bass.
all these headless basses... i’ve never wanted to get back on upright again so intensely. my corpse would not even deign to be buried NEAR a headless bass.
Did you get a chance to check out the newest Sire models? I want to check out the U5!
Well, I think Patrick thought there was a lot of Cool and badass shit there!
NAMM, most exhausting thing ever? No Patrick. Touring Warped Tour is the most exhausting thing ever.
Short-scale Bass Guitars are also good for us older guys who are getting arthritis in the wrists and fingers...
Hey Patrick. I don'r know if you are even allowed to talk about this, but at the Darkglass Booth i saw a Headphone/Cabsim pedal which i just WANT. They teased it on instagram i believe, but man. Great video as always, thanks.
That Kiesel seems to be a headless version of the old Carvin SB bass? (a Sekou Bunch signature model)
NAMM was kickass this year, I think beetronics was my favorite booth. Also I saw you like twice at Darkglass but was too awkward to say hi so hi I guess
No deal to the teal bro

Hello Patrick, what is your real experience with the Sandberg Electra Vs4 bass, compared to a Precision fender? and having a body in basswood .... what do you say? thanks
Love your reviews... I've eyed Dark Glass pedals at my local shop for some time now, good stuff. As for basses, I love my American P Bass. :)
Somebody get Patrick another box of tissues, STAT!
There is no thing suchlike beautiful headless bass (or guitar).
Please tell me I'm not the only one who doesn't like headless basses!
You are not. Headless basses should be sent to hell.
dangermoose666 I’m sure they make great kindling.
@@ChrisDavis1975 Brooms as well too.
January is when you suddenly need to find the snow shovel that got buried in the shed...
Hey, headless bass to the rescue!
More shortscales are good news for those of whose fingers arent going to ever get any longer. But wow, £1749 for the Fallout?

You're in luck. They have a G & L Fallout Tribute model for $600 now.
I was hoping that he was going to mention the Sire Marcus Miller U5.
Serek Midwestern II please. Will it growl? Thx

Get the Serek Lincoln!
I personally think the cort artisan a5 plus SC are pretty cool too ...who is up !!! 🙋♂️
Ichika has that headless Ibanez bass
Marco is a solid guy. And his basses are even better. I'm playing one on my profile pic 😅
You should visit elegee basses. From the Philippines
“2020 is gonna be a really good year...”. That didn’t age well... but there were some cool basses

I really hate what happened with the Dbird 🤷♂️ , the first iteration was honestly perfection 👌
Damn. Ive always wanted to go to namm. Maybe one day. Btw : i will pay for a ticket 2021. (Fingers crossed)

You do Sires???
I was way into that Sandberg you showed, until I looked it up and found out it has a basswood body.. strong nope
yeah but how many cool birthday bass shirts were there

What's the reverse headstock bass behind you?
Nito would be proud
Dude hell yes!!
Serek WALNUT!!!!!!!!
Did You see the New líne of SIRE, the v5 blow my mind, the beauty of simplicity., What do You think ?
Is there any benefit to having a headless bass? Besides looks?
Portability and better tuning stability.
Lighter, usually and compact.
Paul Belgrado is from Belgium, not Germany ;)
You're blown away by jazz and p bass copies🤨
what about neural dsp quad cortex???
