That's a very weird build you are running. Practically no Crit so against anyone with even just 500 Melee Endurance, you are not landing a Crit and even landing glancing blows. You are focusing on Melee Evasion but it's just 1.4k while GS builds can easily get 1.2k hit, meaning you have like 13% chance to avoid their attacks. No defenses against Magic so you are getting blown up by any decent Staff player (and there are a lot of them now with the recent buffs to Staffs). Sub 1k Hit which is low against meme healbots that run like 2k Melee evasion. Props for running this off-meta build (which is actually strong as hell and it goes unnoticed for some reason), but in my opinion you need to switch around your gear a lot.
Yeah it's a weird build. Though I have to agree to disagree. 1. You're suggesting a glass cannon build (High CRIT, DMG, HIT CHANCE) that has high offense but low sustain that is only possible with Range+Magic EVA/ENDU combinations, which is suitable for a Staff+Dagger but not a Staff+GS. - Staff+GS requires an aggressive playstyle and positioning where half the time you're at the frontlines causing havoc and CC's. - With a glass cannon build, there is no point in having all that high damage when you won't be allowed to deal any damage to opponents because you're CC'ed by stuns and you're likely to die to single Guillotine/Stunning blow combos. 2. Why does the build not have high Crit Chance? - If you have considered the Crit chance vs Endurance value, 1.2k Crit Chance will only proc 30% of the time against 800 endu players. - In my Questlog description I have explained that Staff+GS synergizes with Heavy Atk Chance (HAC) + Skill Damage Boosts through MAX HP. This is why Crit Chance has lower priority, and is an overkill stat that literally denies you from sustain traits. I'll leave it here: Crit Chance & Hit Chance on item builds are not required as it is compensated through the synergy of passive skills. Flame Condensation - 10 HAC x 10 stacks = 100 HAC Cold Warrior - Increases 288 HAC against Shocked/Stunned targets Flame Condensation + Cold Warrior Synergy: 388 HAC ADDITIONAL (+510 GS / +260 Staff BASE STAT) TOTAL GREATSWORD HAC: 898 TOTAL STAFF HAC: 648 Vital Force - Increases Hit Chance + Skill Damage Boost + Stun Chance per 100 HP. End Game Item build provides approximately 19,800 HP:Magic, Melee, Magic Hit Chance Increase: 198 x 2.02 = 400 Hit Chance Skill Damage Boost: 198 x 0.35 = 69.3 Damage Boost (I have 500 SDB with current build, approx. 33% extra skill dmg) Stun Chance: 198 x 0.45 = 89 Stun Chance 3. Why does the build not have high Hit Chance? - As mentioned, this game is scissors paper stone. In combat you have to pick your targets and counters. - Hit Chance: 800-900 would suffice, due to Staff GS being a melee+magic combo and 50% GS - 50% Staff skill dependency, the only armors that counters this build are healers (wisdom heavy) whom should not be your target priority. Meta players requires 1.1-1.3k Hit Chance mainly because their builds are massively countered by EVA. Eg; - GS+Dagger (both melee) cant afford to miss with both weapons. - SnS + GS (Both melee) - Bow + Staff (going against meta armors - Magic+Range) - Staff + Dagger (heavily dependent on magic rotations > dagger) You should prioritize your targets in such; - Against DPS - usually Range+Magic Def = Initiate with GS skills - Against Tanks - usually Melee+Range Def = Initiate with Staff skills - Against Healers/Templars - last priority, leave it to your teammates to handle in large scale. (in 1v1 scenario, you can swap ice spear full mod > fireball barrage full mod with mana burn.) This is the advantage of GS+Staff, either weapon counters hard against DPS/Tank. They won't be able to defend against both weapons unless they go with Wisdom armor sets. 4. Defense - You're suggesting an extremely greedy build to have ALL defenses vs magic included. T&L is a scissors, paper, stone game. You will be countered 33% of the fights. Best is to stack two defensive traits instead of some half-assed triple trait endu/eva build. - its OKAY to be blown up by staff players, its OKAY to lose some fights. You can't counter everyone and win 100% of your fights. But also bear in mind that does not mean that I won't be able to blow staff players too. I'm not standing around for staff users to get free hits. My Stunning blow & Guillotine blades are waiting eagerly to clap them in 1 hit as they are running on Magic+Range defense. - You have the option to run 1556 melee EVA with immortal reckoning cape, but I very much prefer +163 melee defense from Blessed Templar. I get to absorb x3 guillotine blades if necessary. - TL is also a long term game, which you are suppose to have 2-3 set builds to swap based on scale of combat and type. FYI, I do have another item set which I use for GvG/conflict: It has approx. 1.6k(Mag eva) + 1.4k (Range Eva) + 800 (range endu) + 19k HP + 1.2k Hit Chance + 900 Crit Chance. As for Arena/Saurodoma night activities, you mainly want to survive all the CC's with melee eva/endu build. I hope this lengthy off-meta logic makes sense to you. *PS, do you mind sharing your Questlog GS Staff build or theory craft one based on your opinion? Always open for improvements. We need more off-meta thinkers. I'll go for Crit Chance when I have an Adentus + Talus combo
