I used to read William F. Buckley Jr. all the time. I enjoyed the writing and the wit and the knowledge, but in the end he was merciless to the human condition. You say he regretted those debates with Gore Vidal. Perhaps the one where Buckley lost it and told Vidal to “ shut your mouth or I’ll sock you one , you queer”… that one, I guess.

Our founding was glorious, but things need to change. I don’t believe in autocratic Presidents. I also oppose Feudal Lords, Oligarchs. I oppose 1 to 5 persons in the world governing all our goods, services and activities. Madisonian concepts don’t work anymore.
