御射鹿池は農業用のため池で、農林水産者の「ため池百選」にも選ばれています。東山魁夷が描いた「緑響く」のモチーフとなり、テレビCMなどで話題となりました。水質としては酸性が強く、魚は生息できませんが、そのことから透明度は高くなっています。
水面が穏やかな時には、鏡のように周囲の風景が映り込み、神秘的な雰囲気になります。
Mishakaike Pond is a reservoir for agriculture and has been selected as one of the "100 reservoirs" for agriculture, forestry and fisheries. It became the motif of "green echoing" drawn by Kaii Higashiyama, and became a hot topic in TV commercials. As for the water quality, it is highly acidic and fish cannot live, but because of that, the transparency is high.
When the surface of the water is calm, the surrounding scenery is reflected like a mirror, creating a mysterious atmosphere.
≪緑響く≫1982年 / 蓼科高原・御射鹿池
一頭の白い馬が緑の樹々に覆われた山裾の池畔に現れ、画面を右から左へと歩いて消え 去った―そんな空想が私の心のなかに浮かびました。私はその時、なんとなく第二楽章の旋律が響いているのを感じました。おだやかで、ひかえ目がちな主題がまず、ピアノの独奏で奏でられ、深い底から立ち昇る嘆 きとも祈りとも感じられるオーケストラの調べが慰めるかのようにそれに答えます。白い馬 はピアノの旋律で、木々の繁る背景はオーケストラです。

≪Green echoing≫
A white horse appeared on the pond at the foot of the mountain covered with green trees and walked from right to left on the screen and disappeared - such a fantasy came to my mind. At that time, I somehow felt that the melody of the second movement was echoing.
A calm and swayed theme is first played by a piano solo, and answers it as if the investigation of an orchestra that feels like a sigh or prayer rising from the deep bottom is comforting. The white horse is the melody of the piano, and the background of the trees is an orchestra.
