My first big bike 11years ago was a ZX7R P2 bought for my 21st birthday. I've looked at the prices they go for since I first bought it. Im now 32 and still own her and with how underrated they are I don't think I'll ever get rid ! Medical reasons forced me to take my driving lessons and get 4 wheels as my daily mode of transport which has honestly left me wanting to drain her dry and bring her in as a centre piece of my lounge. If she had an extra "R" she'd have already been in here long long ago. As a 90s kid I remember seeing one of them for the first time and telling myself "one day I'll have one" . Personally I think they're one of the top 3 bikes ever made. The looks, the front heavy handling which keeps them planted and the sheer size/width which doesn't make us taller riders feel like we're riding a mini moto ! She's my pride and joy that takes me back to that wide eyed kid lusting after the green beast.
Great video guys, it definitely gained a sub from me 💚

Owned a standard zx7r (back when you could do a 33bhp restriction) from when I was 18 years old had it for three years and rode it all over and did a euro trip, learned to wheelie, chase more powerful machinery on it and basic maintenance and servicing. The thing was an absolute tank but was such an involving ride. I used to love the tear drop headlights and air intakes, it was such a beautiful thing. Muscling it round was so rewarding. I wouldn't go back to one as I think now I would find it disappointing but watching you ride the RR on the very same roads I used to ride mine on just brought back a flood of nostalgia. Enjoying this series, keep them coming 👍

I had a ZXR750J2 back in 1996. It was the bike that got me back into bikes after a long lay off, wife, house, kids etc. It was a brilliant forerunner to the ZX7R. As I write this we’re having an extension built with a part new kitchen. Thanks Chris 😂 (P.S. Thank God for my KTM in the garage!)

As a previous owner of multiple zx7r and also I have worked on the zx7rr engine, it also has a removable crankshaft (chain) sprocket to allow the kit gear driven sprocket. The Subframe is different to the 7r however they are both Aluminium alloy. I believe there was around 1500 units made based on the VIN however I am not certain. 500 units was the minimum I believe for homologation

That Ninja is beautiful. In 2014 I had not been on a bike in 23 years so when deciding to start riding again I bought what I lusted after but could not afford in 1991. A pristine 4,002 mile 1989 Yamaha FZR1000. I even found a period correct Vance & Hines slip on exhaust. Its all nostalgia for me. I would love to get my hands on a 1986 Suzuki GSXR1100 next.

There was something very special about that era of bikes. They were genuine road bikes which you could use that the factory then pushed a little more with each special model.
After that age it was all track bikes with numberplates or really toned down road stuff.
The change seemed to be somewhere around the first GSXR1000 for big bikes and the underseat CBR600RR for midleweights.
Since then this kind of do it all bike which is semi-serious seems to have vanished.

Back in the day, 2000/01, a co-worker of mine at a prominent motorcycle dealership in Calgary, acquired a RR that won a Canadian Superbike championship. I think the rules at the time really leaned towards an almost "open" class as I remember the had a nutters big bore kit, around 930ish? ccs, and a set of oversized flat slide carbs. Anyway he rounded up all the needed kit to make it street legal again and had done up in Kawi WSBK livery, full Akra exhaust. It was the TITs!

Remember my own standard 7R - what a great and underrated sports bike. Slightly heavier than the opposition as I recall but….that weight allied to brilliant chassis gave superb stability. The sound was like no other; a pissed off Bengal tiger, would be suitable comparison. Wanted g to be RR but was always beaten to the chance and had too many in the stable anyway. Look back with fond memories at an underrated, underpriced classic 90s sports bike. Thanks for the video.
