Where you get the bolts from? i check the home depot and lowes they were clueless where i buy them bolts since I've already have the rivnut kit with the tool.
I’m trying to make it out to one of the Wednesday drifts at sonoma soon. & I will be at Winter Jam for sure! Tag me when you’re done doing the widebody Camaro I want to see how it looks!
@@Riskspeed oh winter jam I would like to go hopefully. I’m a bit nervous to do the widebody actually. I’m located near Berkeley are you in Stockton? I found you because of this rivnut vid. I did my spoiler like 2 yrs ago but since then I haven’t done it.
I plan on using rivnuts but I've really been searching for a low profile option for bolt/washer. Debating no washer at all. I'm not a fan of visible bolt on, just don't have much of a choice, can't think of another way. I could use the tiny screws that some overfenders come with but idk if that's enough. But those NRG washers are too big for me. Ever see any type of lower profile option for these?
I didn’t find out till after I did this- but there is a smaller version rivnut that NRG offers. It’s still visible but not as big as these. If you want it to be less visible you may have to stick with traditional pop rivets, or mold it into the body to be completely invisible.
the NRG brand rivnuts only came in one length, but not sure exactly what the length is. As long as it’s longer than the thickness of your fenders you should be good
@@Riskspeed another question: im noticing theres steel and aluminum/alloy rivnuts. Apparently mandrels used to install softer metals cannot be used to install steel rivnuts. Any idea which madrel to use for steel? i see you had a wrenching tool provided by nrg. Not into the whole colors thing...thanks
@@Riskspeed just bought this yesterday thansk man. I plan taking mine off maybe 4 times a year not many I’ve used the rubber ones and are hit or miss this seems better
@@Riskspeed so I got NRG fender washers and I put them in my engine bay for the radiator cover and fender cover because I have them forged carbon but my buddy installed the rivets OVER the cover instead on the metal part
@@RoyalDisturbanceClub Still not sure I understand correctly. Do you mean like remove the rivnut and reuse it? You can drill out the rivnut but it can't be reused since it is already flared. You can remove the bolt and use it on a new rivnut though.
I may not be explaining it well but if you see the videos the also put the washers for the radiator and fender cover but my boy put the rivetnut over the cover instead of under it
Search around on amazon, I think there are 2 different size options from NRG you can choose from. The ones I used in this vid are the larger size ones.
buddy this was a great help, I almost riveted something on my car but decided to look it up first, glad I came across this video
Glad it helped out!
Cool vid, doing this to install the wicker bill on my challenger
thank you for this!!!! totally changed my ideas for my build 🤙🏽
Love to hear it!!
Nice and clean video wasn't sure about it but definitely using this for install on my canards
AvGuYLyFe yeah they are handy!
Cool video man really great information on how they work.
David Starr I appreciate it!! Yeah the versatility is nice with rivnuts. & I try to make these videos as good and helpful as possible!
Really really good video, super informative, never knew you could get washers.
Im going to go get some now!!!!
Thank you! Glad this video was helpful!

Bolts and everything came with the rivnut kit off Amazon
@Riskspeed that's where I bought mines from and never got bolts for it
Thanks for the clip. I’m pretty handy but never seen these. Needed to install Jeep fenders.
Glad I could help! Lmk how they turn out
What type of washers are those? Very clean
Hey man just curious the NRG rivnuts include only the washer and bolt? So I know if I still have to purchase a rivet kit
Use a silicone sealant around your inserts so the new hole doesn't start rusting your panels. Ask me how I know this. They will start to rott.
very informative and helpful thank you so much!
glad to help!
Hey man thanks for the video. Did you do anything to prevent rust on the bare metal from cutting and drilling?
I don't think its necessary as the rivnut covers up the exposed drilled part of the fender. However I think you could just spray paint it to be safe.
Clean I was looking for video to do rivet install u where very helpful than k you my accord is gonna be stoked
Glad to hear I could help!
Nice vid bro!! Do you have a link to the rivnut kit?
Just search on Amazon: NRG Rivuts
Where did you get the rivnuts kit from?
Yes sir it did help me a lot !!👍💯🔥
glad it helped!
yoo keep this up u helped me and so many more tyty
thanks glad it helped!
This is neat and very informative where by chance did you get these rivnuts and bolts? Trying to add a wide body to my 2g eclipse
Amazon, search NRG rivnuts. There’s two size options...I went with the larger ones.
Do rivnuts work on fiberglass cars? Or would it crack/crunch the material? Any better alternatives?
I am not too sure, maybe sandwich a metal plate around it to spread the load?
Very Nice Vid! Hei can i know what size nuts you're using? M6? Also whats the length of the nut? 16mm? Am doing this for my Z too.
Ahhh I don’t recall the size as it’s been years since I did this, but I know I got the larger size nuts. (NRG makes 2 different sizes)
@@Riskspeed no probs. Thanks bro
Thanks for this video we’re doing the same thing to the Z 😇
Sweet, let me know how it turns out!
Nice vid I’m going to widebody my camaro. Do u drift on Wednesdays at Sonoma?

Just use some filler and smooth them into the bodywork if you wanna hide them
Great vid.
Thanks I do appreciate that!
do you have links to any of the rivnuts/tools you used to install (other than the drill & bits obviously) 😂
I ordered the rivnuts on Amazon, just search NRG Rivnuts. As for the rivnut tool you can find them at Lowes or Home Depot starting at like $12
What is the tool called ?
@@fombabills4522 just search “rivnut tool”
Nice 👍🏽
German Inzunza thank you!!
I found the rivnuts but can’t find that tool.
Check the link in description, it should come with everything as a kit.

Not too sure. The NRG rivnut washers come in lots of diff colors I chose silver so it would kind of blend in with my grey/silver car.
How’s this holding on? Better than rivetvright
It’s been a year and holding great! I have had to utilize removing it many times and still holds strong.

How do you remove it tho ?
Simply unscrew the Allen bolt
Are you able to reverse the rivnut?
what do you mean?

Good question.. I'd assume to just drill it out?
