I recently bought a Conundrum 20 degree long-wide and returned it (FYI, I am 6'1", 200 lbs). The problem I had with the bag was that, basically, it was cold. The width on the bag is 67 inches and there's virtually no taper on until you get down by the footbox; meaning, there is a ton or room in this thing! This may sound like a good thing except for the fact that all that room makes for a less efficient (cold) bag. I tested it in my back yard where the temps were in the low thirties and I was uncomfortable (to say the least). I actually took the quilt to Winona (I live about an hour away) and tried the standard width bag but, at only 58 inches, it was too narrow. I wound up going with a Katabatic Gear Palisade, a 30 quilt that, in my tests, was warmer than the Conundrum 20. Plus, the quality of materials and workmanship on the Palisade is off the charts (although the EE ain't bad, either).
Thanks so much Vince! Sorry to hear you had a bad experience with the Conundrum... those are some valid points and is exactly why I need to test this in my backyard before I take it with me on an outing! The point of buying this was to keep warm in zero degree temps... the Revalation Quilt has served me well in the past!!! Stay tuned for testing... hope I don't have the same issues! 🙏🤞😵!!!
That’s awesome! I just got a 0 degree underquilt for my hammock, it was awesome testing it in my yard and knowing I was toasty warm at 10 degrees. Good luck with it and can’t wait to see your first 0 degree trip! Now all you need to do is make a quilt for the new pup!
Your videos talked me into the Conundrum. Been debating between this and the Enigma for a while, but the versatility won me over. Just arrived today and I love it so far. Can’t wait to test it out!
That's awesome Matthew!!! The versitilty is the greatest part of the Conundrum!!! On my last trip, I ended up using it zipped up like a sleeping bag... man was I SUPER TOASTY!!! What degree did you end up going with?
I ended up going with the 20 degree bag and I gotta tell you, I don’t know how you didn’t fry like an egg zipping up a -10. Granted, we had a huge warm front come through Ohio, but even the loft and warmth from this one is like an oven when zipped! Still need to do a field test in the cold though, so we’ll see!
That is nice👍 looking forward to the testing. I usually get out more in the cold but this year has been crazy. Looks like I’ll have to live vicariously though UA-cam for the cold weather stuff this year. 😀
Heck no!!! I actually ordered the long version (I'm 6')... and in the most bitterness of coldness, I just bury my hole head in the quilt! 🤣... plus I wear a fleece cap... but no... I don't feel like it limits its capabilities!!!
I'm On there website right after this comment..love this quilt/bag...my 20 degree r evalation performs flawlessly, but when it gets to 0 when I'm out there this would be perfect..thanks for the video as well..great channel..
Ha ha mike franks!!! You are so right... not many videos on this! Thanks for your review, watched it many times while waiting for mine to come! Happy New Year's!
My video is pretty crappy. Your’s is way better than mine. I do like the different ways you can sleep in the bag. The only issue I came into was I was cold around my shoulders with it attached to my sleeping pad. I don’t think I had enough down next to the top of the bag.
Your video is awesome!!!! I fricken watched it like 10 times! 👍 Good to know about the down migration near the shoulders... Will definitely be keeping an eye on that!
My new 50degree quilt is coming from loco libre gear with an outdoor ink forest floor print on the outside and burnt orange on the inside... now got to wait 11 weeks for it to come.
11 weeks!!!! Holy Cow! Well, at least that'll be perfect timing to when you can use it!!!! Can't wait to see the review!!! Thinking about upgrading from the Costco Quilt myself... We shall see!!!

It better Bob! Don't want to wake up like a popsicle! 😵
Ooohhh, that's purty. I enjoyed the Costco quilt magic.
LOL!!! I'm Doug Henning's apprentice! 😂

Sweet... I have the Revelation in the 20 degree... and you are correct... I almost was sweating in 7 degrees with this bag... and it was unzipped! 🤣

Thanks Alex! We finally hit temps just right for testing tonight!!! Hey, you have amazing winter trips under your belt! You'll be out there soon!!!!
And shared on FB by enlightened equipment. Awesome quilt/bag, man. Very jealous.
Woo Hoo!!!! Thanks Cameron! No wonder I'm getting more views that I'm used too! 🤣
Wow that looks like a very nice setup! Can't wait to see the real test!! Thanks for sharing bud👍
Thank you Rockett Outdoors!!! Will be bitterly cold this weekend... looking VERY forward to testing this out!!!
Great video on the Conundrum! I am thinking about getting one of those- do you feel like not having a hood limits the warmth capabilities?

I’m not the only one now with a conundrum

Looks good man!
Thanks Jason!!! Bring on 'Ol man Winter!!!
can you please step on the quilt so i can see how puffy it is
I do! Watch at 7:05
Should give you a good idea of how much down is in this bag!!!
i mean step on top of the bag on the outer layer and plus you have to be barefoot so you know how puffy it is
AHHHH... got it! When I shoot the real world test, I promise to film that!!!
Enclosed ur head 😳😳🚩🚩
