Campers going to be more weight, less visibility only pro is if you are going to use it to keep things in it, also it will open up more options such as interior and stereo which is more $. Are you able to add a leaf to it to bring the back end up a little? it's kind of sagging now with the weight of the z-rack and the extra hardware. It's coming along nicely though, once you get the straps don't be afraid to swing it to the sides, none of that tapping =)
I ended up lowering the front to match the rear and I’m holding off on the camper for now. I’m not going to lie, I’m scared to swing it around. Lol maybe after I get the hang of it
Looking good really looks nice. I have a 93 d21 X-cab all taken apart doing paint, body work and sanding the frame to paint & powder coat. I also have an 86 b2000 sitting on rims just waiting to be worked on. On the hardbody i shaved the washer nozzles, gas filler, tailgate and working on the wiper cowl shaving the vents as I will be driving the truck so will keep the wipers. Learned a hard lesson back in the days with no wipers. Lol I have to get back on working on the truck just been so busy with work, life plus both parents passed 3 months apart. Plus clearing out their houses but will get on the truck soon. Again nice truck enjoy the bed they are fun once you get the hang of it.lol it took me a while after the damage my girlfriend caused. I remember I was 18 back in 1988 and just bought a new yota and new mazda b2200 slammed them both, added rims 15x12 on 195/50. Then built 2 z-racks as the mini truck crazy was in full swing. I still had my 72 Impala, 79 Monte Carlo but the mini trucks were hot. Okay on the 88 Toyota my girl friend jumped in and hit the switch box😲😯 bed titled twords the back of the cab and boom back window busted and damaged the cab & bed. It happened so fast had no time to react. Well the girlfriend felt so bad and was crying she was devastated but like I told her it's okay it was an accident and these trucks are meant to be driven and enjoyed not parked in the garage or be trailer queen's. Yes I was a bit upset but glad no one got hurt. Put new bed and cab on repainted the truck and took the forward flip out of the z-racks and enjoyed the heck out of the trucks driving all over going to shows.
I wish I could go back in time and enjoy when the mini trucks were hot. They aren’t a big deal here in Texas. Well at least old school mini trucks. I am scared of the bed hitting the cab but like you said they aren’t meant to be driven and played with. I still need to get a hang of the switches.
A recommendation on how I should run my tire set up, I have 16x8’s but I want to run a baby tire, don’t want to be stretched because my area where I live the roads aren’t that nice but I do want to run a small tire just not stretched, any recommendations? Thanks.
I’m not too sure on 16x8. But I would assume going with a 205 or 215 in width would be good for a 8 inch wide wheel. Maybe 205/45 or 215/40 would be good
