- What a crappy few days. But that's ok, can't always be good. There is a problem with the ICF pool. Rain is messing up our workdays and flooding the ponds. Chris and I go check out a potential new property.

@20:00 You're lamenting that something went wrong with the pool, but it was not clear at all what was wrong.
Because I went over what went wrong earlier in the video. Around the 11 minute mark.
@@BealyGood problem still not clear to me. The seal expanded and cracked the concrete? I rewatched part around 11 min too :-(
@@davidkwong7546 yes. There is 10 inches of concrete missing all the way around the edge.
@@BealyGood Thanks for explaining that - thought there had to be missing concrete.
@@heatherlane9270 It took me a minute too. I had to go back and watch the pour video to remember that seal.
Funny Friends! Keep it Bealy Good & Let's Dig 18 ,Over and over again ❤Thanks AGAIN for sharing 👏 Keep laughing &Stay Safe my friends 😄 😊
Geoff, whenever Chris shows can you just feel your troubles just melt away. He is just like a saving grace with a wise cracking attitude.
I think we enjoy all update vids of whats going on with the Bealy Good projects. Sometimes life slows down production but what are you going to do and sometimes you just need a break. Always great videos from you. Thanks for the updates.
Thanks 😊
I agree.😊
“We got grass to grow..”

I miss the duck mafia! Their sarcasm was awesome!
@@karenfaber7049 a facet of Geoff’s humor really shines here, true…
Listening to you two guys reminds me of a couple of ole boys cogitating at the general store setting around the stove, just to needle each other, gotta love it. Every project, and bigger the project, the more it happens, you hit a period of time where things just don’t quite seem to come together for you, but, you stay the course, my money is on you to win. Thanks for the update, enjoyed watching.
Thanks 😊
No problem Chris is around ❤

Bealy and Chris went to the Jungle with a hidden Pond. That's gonna be a nice Project.
Every big project has it's ups and downs. And improvising to address the fixes allows your creativity to shine. I think you're doing a heck of a good job with everything!
Wow, thank you!
Hard to believe how much is needed just for a pool. Good information.😊😊😊😊
22:06…. Duck mafia looks a little deflated.
Happy to see you keep pushing forward!!
Thanks for sharing the good and the bad with us. Not everyday can be a Bealy Good day, As long as you and the family stay healthy and safe, the build will slowly get down. Cheers
Hope weather improves for you guys so you can keep moving on. Thank again for sharing. 😍
Always a good laugh watching y’all

Made for great viewing guys, lots of countries around the globe are getting more than their share of rain lately so the pond should be full for awhile bro. Rain due Monday for us. Safe travels. Ken.
Heh ... Your start was like watching Wile E Coyote set up a Roadrunner trap. 🤣👍
all this time ive never seen an ICF build until yours, then this week while on holiday in Cornwall UK i drove past a place and was like OMG they using that Bealy Good stuff! so sad. :D

enjoyed the catchup video.. looks like the rains have come at last..
I truly appreciate what you do, and put out for us all. Be kinda cool to have a channel called adventures with goeff and Chris. Stay warm and dry if at all possible. Thank you again. House and property is looking amazing.
Aww we never hate any of your videos. I love them all, thanks for sharing. Hopefully, everything is drying up now😊

That's a plumber's nightmare by the pool area.
Safe places always seem to get lost in thought and search processes - the ah ha moments are great when you find them. Thanks for the splash pool explain problem. LetsDig18 adventures and visits taking care of progress and future possible developments. Water everywhere - just replaces the dust :). Have a great week Bealy Good.
Thanks Heather 😊
That was fun! I love it when my top peeps (you and Chris) collaborate. The house is really starting to shape up, despite some water issues . Also loved the drone footage. I’ve always wondered why Chris doesn’t use one 🤷♂️
I am glad James is getting you back on track :)
Hahahaha, so where is the glue for the pipes in your organized shed, 😂. Like to see Mr. Bealy Good have to hire a Skycrane or Chinook chopper to rescue the mulcher. 😁Not really, but I can imagine the awesome video. 🤣 Looked a bit wet in the last part video. Yes sarcasm.
Hey boss, isnt the fish stocking coming up soon?
I went from no rain in my area for 7 weeks to rain every day for a week now. The garden is loving it.
Thanks for video and update brother.

As a retired contractor, I can attest to the fact there is going to be setbacks during construction. It is just the nature of human commingled with technology. The true measure of the contractor is their ability to quickly assess the issue, make decisions to correct the issue and then move forward. After the fact you can decide where you went off course and what was the main cause involved. It was good to see you had already decided what you were going to do and not let it grind you to a halt. Keep up the good work. For a DIY project you are doing well. Keep it up.
Thanks 😊
Well said tony
Been there done that!
Send some of that rain to Pa. We’re dry up here this summer. Think of these few days as recovery days. Rest up you’ll be back at it before you know it!
Chris was asking the stone size,in NZ we use 3/4 for standard concrete and 1/2 “ for block fill the reason for the smaller aggregate so it flows in the smaller spaces and around reo etc
[12:33] Trust is when you be out in a remote woodland with Chris armed with a machete. [20:04] The grass is coming back :-)
Too much rain, And just what you need more land to do more projects..Good Update.

Great çontent as always. I am a little confused on what the trouble is with the pool edge. Would you be able to do say a 5 mins explanation on what's wrong, why and the remidy? Closer film shots of the problem would be good. Thanks😁
Always nice to see your adventures with Chris. Your two are so funny together. After all this time why do you question Chris? You know he already has that play worked out. ha ha
So very sorry about the concrete mishap. That is a bummer. Hope it isn't a big setback.
Always a pleasure to see your videos. Have a good productive week minus rain.

I think you saying on one of your past vids , maybe it was Chris's channel" The middle of no-ware becomes the middle of some-ware" should be your land development companies tag line.

We've had some rain for sure. We needed it. Now it can stop so things can dry out. I need to cut the grass!

I push buttons to pull it out. For the fans 🤣
Nothing but rain here too.
STOP IT❗️😎 I see 👀 clouds a coming ... REALLY 😮
We sent the storm and flood to you from South Texas to your way so, say thank you. Lol😁
Just a comment,
i've been in pump rooms with decking and concrete over them. I realized that that Decking either is aluminized or galvanized. I would talk to someone to see if you could coat it with something or provide good ventilation or a good dehumidifier as there might possibly be alot of humidity in there. I have seen paint peel and that decking rust thru. Of course that will take a long time. I have a feeling however this will be your forever home. Had to replace entire ductwork system in an enclosed indoor pool for a customer once with stainless ductwork because it rusted thru from humidity.
@@arthurcunningham530 good points. The plan is to coat it all with 3 inches of spray foam. But I am open to other suggestions. This room will have a small mini split in it. Mostly for dehumidification and making sure it doesn’t get too cold in the winter.
Chris is a top excavator operator
Definitely do pavers over the pool plumbing. I was involved in a deal several years where the pool had a leak. Of course it was in the portion of the plumbing that ran underneath the concrete. Huge pain in the ass.
Thanks for the latest update Geoff. Put a big tarp over the 220 to hide it 0:03 and maybe Chris will forget about.it.😅
That could work! 🤔
Always an awesome video with Chris!!
Good video Geoff ,peace brother…
I couldn't follow what the problem is. Is the pool leaking? What is the cause and fix? What was wrong with the upper floor that Chris was inspecting? What was wrong with concrete truck arrival order?
About 10” around the top of the sunshelf has to be replaced
@@BealyGoodI see. I'm still lost about what has happened and why. I'd like to understand the situation. Anyway I wish you the best. I'm sure you and Chris will figure it out.
Thank you 👍
wow.... the plumbing is gonna be a BIG job...
Thank you for explaining what happened to the sun shelf I saw on James's video. I'm sorry for the setbacks and hope you get caught up, Geoff.
Both properties you & Chris looked at, but especially the 2nd one sure seems like a lot of work to make home lots out of. I hope you find what you're looking for.
@@Vickie-Bligh thanks Vickie 😊
Where did you see James video. I still can't sort out what happen.
@@nandi123 James Brown's channel is HeadMechanic40 and he showed the cracks after the rain. Geoff please correct me, but what I think happened is a material called Water Stop was placed on the edges of the shelf. It was designed to swell & stop leaks but the wetness of the concrete activated it and broke the edges.
@@nandi123 James has a channel. Head Mechanic 40
@@BealyGood Thanks I had a look. Still don't understand what happened. I give up.
Good job.
Another great video of what you guys are doing! After tearing down the old structures and houses, do you ever go over the footprint after Chris has cleared the debris checking for valuables? The house pictured at 4:15 into this video looks as though it's got potential for old wooden planks, valuables, etc. Looks like the old house on one of the tobacco farms we use to farm in Person County NC.
Reply
@@GranthamShaw if we are tearing down structures I usually remove anything that can be reused like doors. Chris uses the excavator bucket to separate out copper pipes that go to recycling.
@@BealyGood Enjoy the process, you guys have the best content!
Have a great day, thanks for the video!!!!! It was gooooooood :)
I'm so stupid when it comes to what you are doing, I can't figure out what the "fiasco" was... water hit the concrete-type product and something expanded that shouldn't have... but I'm just not getting it. Thanks for sharing the ups and downs though. There is obviously a lot that goes into a mega-project like this.
Thanks
How do you make the poured concrete water tight? I see folks see if one uses 5000 psi, that is waterproof. Pea gravel flows better. High cement, low water content, they well be very strong walls.ah the waterproofing is coming next week, great. I’m looking forward to seeing that.
When you two getting married 😂😂 love the banter.
🤣🤣🤣
All the way from LA .
You might need to get your own excavator lol, a nice Volvo 140/160 size and Chris can stop in anytime and never has to haul his stuff over making you wait :) I know it's blasphemous, to suggest it but Mike DirtPerfect really loves the Case 140 ex he is demo'ing.
Nice video Mr Bealy Good.
Love watching your build. Why wouldnt you make the filter room a space you can stand in rather than crawl??
I’ll be able to still stand in it. It’s just the door that had to be short like a crawlspace door.
Did you seal the outside of your basement walls before backfilling? Our house we just bought they had to pull all the dirt away from the house and reseal all the way around because it leaked after 20 years. (idk much about it but I was curious your process)
We haven’t back filled yet. We’re doing the Waterproofing as soon as we get a couple of clear days
Good Video Thax 😃😃😃
Geoff, you need to put straw bales across the channel into the pond to filter the mud out of the water. Steel post through the bale will keep the straw bale from washing away into the pond. This is what the highway department does to protect waterways from heavy silt filled water.
20V Hedge trimmers would help the adventure thru the shrubbery.
Bealyton Flood Plain Pan Tours: "Here is my metal floor pan, and I've got a 'Bealy Bad Daze' in my brain pan, there is also a metal plate inside that pan for pan-demic consistency. We've given up on those fleeting visions of grass I've been incoherently yammering on about for 4 years now, we're going down the assorted volenteer weed route."
Mother Nature usually wins, and other stuff happens. Sometimes all you can do is do alot of planning until you can.
What did you mean when you said "you other do it yourselfers now know not what to do" at 10:58?
Don’t use stop leak and make sure that your rebar goes to the edge within 2 inches
@@BealyGood Thank you. Simple cross-sectional drawings showing (a) what was done compared to (b) one showing what you now recommend would answer many questions.
Good Morning.
Time 8:47 AM. July 26th.
@@haroldfoust good morning 😃
Jeff; you were totally confusing about the pool disaster. I think you were talking about the sun pad the camera was pointed at the bottom pool. so is the membrane in the bottom pool or on the sun pad ??
and about the rebar your going to have to show close ups of exactly what’s wrong,,because watching the video nobody can make out what’s wrong
🤔 I’m going to have to watch the video again. I wonder her some audio got transferred to the wrong clip. Because I was standing up on the sun shelf talking about it thanks for calling it to my attention and I’ll see if I need to make adjustments. Thanks.
@@BealyGood I guess I ment the upper pool but you mentioned the membrane & the camera would start showing the water in the pool so without closeups showing exactly what’s wrong I never did figure out what was wrong
I Just want your Financing, cuz I'd do things a little differently. Definitely a learning curve, I hope ;
Instead of pavers. Do you have a local company that can install artificial turf? Always cool and green 😊
🤔 that would be cool
Hey Jeff where can I find the listing for the first property you looked at?
The property that Chris and I walked, that had the old house with the big trees grown up around it? That one sold.
When did you put in the fence at 21:31. Where is the rest of the duck mafia? Thank you and have an awesome day.
Couple months ago. That’s all that are left. Thanks, you too!
Bealy couldn't tie his own shoe laces, unless Chris was there to help him - or do it for him most likely 😅
Obviously
You need to ask Chris when he is building that on his property
When you describe all the things that half to get done in what I perceive is a short time line, by your self that would over whelm me. How do you deal with it?
Life of a contractor!
You get used to it after a while.😃
I’ve always been like this. I’m more stressed (like now) with little that I can get done.
@@BealyGood Just keep plugging away at it Geoff & try not to let it eat you up.
I went through a very nasty winter on a new home many many years ago. Thought I would have gotten ulcers with all the worrying.
Once I got done, I came to the conclusion that there was nothing I could have done to change things & thus changed my outlook.
I didn't let things like that bother me again for the next 40 years!
Keep at it, your doing good!
It would be interesting to know what happened. You did not really explain the mishap.
I’m hearing that a lot, but I don’t get it. I re-watched and I thought it was pretty obvious, but I guess not. I’ll talk about it more in the next video.
