Good stuff, those were beautiful hares! Has the invasion of jack rabbits headed west towards you yet? I know they are expanding north and there are (as of yet) unconfirmed reports as far as Clyde.
Personally I don't like deadfalls, they can make a gooey mess out of the guts but it is a good skill to have.

Thanks for your Comments Turtle Wolf. Yes the Jack Rabbits have made it to Barrhead now. We have been seeing them in town for the last few years. For the last 20 years, I only remember seeing them in the City of Edmonton, but now they have moved north and west into smaller towns - they are following the limits of Agriculture as farmers are clearing more and more land into the Boreal Forest. The Deadfalls are my last efforts to use for sure. I can set up dozens of wire snares in the time it takes to make one deadfall trap. And yes, they are a gooey mess and sometimes they mess up the hide. Take Care.

@@NatureAliveAdventures no jacks yet in the Jarvie area that I have seen or heard of yet but I try to keep my eyes open for sign. They don't seem to like bush country much but you are correct that they are following the fields!
I also remember for many years only seeing them in South Edmonton. Massive brutes that ruled the roads!
