Lisa already got a lot of hate in Korea for being foreign, and if she would have made an entire rap verse thats also the most catching part of the song in Thai, it would just make it harder for her. She's already a foregner living in Korea, so it just makes sense to rap in Korean, especially when a lot of the song is already in English. And ofcourse blending 3 languages into one song and making it sound good is also harder. At least she managed to put some of her culture in and it looked amazing!

My impression from all the BP solo efforts is that everyone is stronger when they're together, and the best product comes from blending all their respective skills. "Solo," "On the Ground," and now "Lalisa" all left me wanting more, and I think that's only because Blackpink as a unit demonstrates how the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
Agreed for the most part. I think Roses style will make her the most likely successful soloist. She can perform anywhere with minimal set up and still show off her vocal and musical skills.
People tend to be attach to their original perception.BP was introduced and recognized as a group. There fore, people will always perceive them as a group. For me, I'm agree with the Jennie, Rose, Jisoo that they are better as a group.But for Lisa, I think she's better off by herself. Lisa syncs more with international audiences. The rest 3 members, to a certain extent only. Lisa dancing skill is in another league, she has no problem doing her owns things as a solo artist, at the world stage.

She sang well enough to inspire compliments from fellow vocalists, she rapped well enough to garner praises from stars in the rap game, and danced well enough to start dance challenges on social media. But even that the MV have lots of information, im was still waiting to see something deeper, heaviest and especifc from her. Dont know how much freedom she got from the company though. Thanks. Like you, I was underwhelmed by the song my first time, thinking that Teddy's lyrics and beats didn't do Lisa justice. My advise, listen to it a few more times, it gets better with age as you can that it does show off many of Lisa's talents. Nevertheless, I feel it should have had at least 4 times as many "Bad Bish" raps as it does, replacing "Lalisa, Lalisa" repetitive lyrics. But, it seems to be designed to hit the Selena/Ariana/Taylor poppy demographic, so raps seemed to have been kept at a minimum to maximize the chances of the song landing on heavy rotation at Top 40 radio stations (which was the plan for Lovesick Girls but it didn't work out, that song failed to get much radio play in the US). I don't think "Ice Cream" was most Blink's favorite song/MV, certainly not mine, but it was the highest US charting BP song. Similarly BTS's poppy songs (e.g., Butter) are huge hits in the US, but I so much prefer their Korean rap songs (Mic Drop, On), that haven't done as well.

Totally respect your opinion and watch your reactions a lot. From what I gathered from her premiere Vlive, she wanted music that was memorable and fun to dance to. She went less for lyrical substance and more for a club banger, which she totally succeeded in. The chorus is indeed infectious and unforgettable. She also seemed to indicate she was more about giving Blinks what they hoped for, more Lisa dances and more Lisa raps. Again, she served. Anyway, just my two cents. Have a great day!

Regarding the huge number of sets and locations that are used for less than 20 seconds in KPop productions, I will say that in the US, you will hear a lot about M/Vs produced that "spared no expense". But until you see a video like this or "How You Like That" (where there is no CGI for the principal photography), you don't realize what that phrase really means.
Lisa's performance remind me to MJ... No one can stole their power on stage...they know what they have and they give it to fans...even we dont know what they sing,still happy see them on stages... Just amazing....

Thanks. Like you, I was underwhelmed by the song my first time, thinking that Teddy's lyrics and beats didn't do Lisa justice. My advise, listen to it a few more times, it gets better with age as you can that it does show off many of Lisa's talents. Nevertheless, I feel it should have had at least 4 times as many "Bad Bish" raps as it does, replacing "Lalisa, Lalisa" repetitive lyrics. But, it seems to be designed to hit the Selena/Ariana/Taylor poppy demographic, so raps seemed to have been kept at a minimum to maximize the chances of the song landing on heavy rotation at Top 40 radio stations (which was the plan for Lovesick Girls but it didn't work out, that song failed to get much radio play in the US). I don't think "Ice Cream" was most Blink's favorite song/MV, certainly not mine, but it was the highest US charting BP song. Similarly BTS's poppy songs (e.g., Butter) are huge hits in the US, but I so much prefer their Korean rap songs (Mic Drop, On), that haven't done as well.

Totally respect your opinion and watch your reactions a lot. From what I gathered from her premiere Vlive, she wanted music that was memorable and fun to dance to. She went less for lyrical substance and more for a club banger, which she totally succeeded in. The chorus is indeed infectious and unforgettable. She also seemed to indicate she was more about giving Blinks what they hoped for, more Lisa dances and more Lisa raps. Again, she served. Anyway, just my two cents. Have a great day!

Regarding the huge number of sets and locations that are used for less than 20 seconds in KPop productions, I will say that in the US, you will hear a lot about M/Vs produced that "spared no expense". But until you see a video like this or "How You Like That" (where there is no CGI for the principal photography), you don't realize what that phrase really means.
