I remember his brother Casey played QB and ran for 5 tds on us, and he never even went to college for footbal afaik. We went 8-1 that season. I've got OCD about the 2011 draft because it was so stacked when it happened (and still is considering Cam, Von, AJ, Julio, Pat Peterson, JJ, etc.) but then there's Jake Locker, Blaine Gabbert (illustrious backup journeyman career notwithstanding), and Christian Ponder (among others - Jonathan Baldwin stands out) who didn't pan out in the long run or at all. 2012 had a few in the first round who didn't pan out, too - Richardson and Blackmon both in the top 5 and then AJ Jenkins. A vid on Richardson and one on Blackmon would be great.
My family and I have been Titans fans since they moved to Nashville and I truly believe this franchise is cursed. Locker is just one part of the whole tragic story. You can do a whole video essay about what happened with the team’s move from Houston and how the Titans have had a Legacy of Failure since its creation.
I enjoyed watching him play when he was on the field it’s was a amazing roller coaster ride haha used to set in the same section as a guy who wore a locker jersey but had Mr Glass instead of locker on the back
I'll never forget the greatest game i ever got to see in person: Jake Locker and Jermaine Kearse took down a top 5 USC team in Seattle. September 19th, 2009. I think Jake was always a better athlete than football player, he's definitely a "what could have been" story.
As a boy from Washington, It was probably an absolute dream to get drafted by the team that acquired your NFL teams previous, only superbowl appearance at the time...QB. Hasselbeck is an absolute gangster. Unfortunatly that team was the Titans.
Good on him for making the choice to be with his family. I know playing in the league is the dream of a lot of players, but it can be really tough on the families.
Dude I was AT that BYU game and that call was such bull. Darrel Harris also got injured that game and I watched his mom sprint past security to go make sure her son was ok. The entire crowd cheered her on.
Another idea for a series for next season: the dumbest, most cursed QB battles. The Bears literally had one between Rex Grossman and Kyle Orton for 3 years.
When I was kid I used to love the titans and Jake and I went to a game and the man didn't give me an autograph, I was mad salty and hated the team promptly after that
It may be outside of the lines, but I would be interested to hear a detailed look at Lawrence Phillips. I grew up in Nebraska but joined the Army in ’86, so my memories range from Johnnie Rodgers to Jarvis Redwine, I.M.Hipp, and Mike Rozier.
Tim Biakabatuka, Peter Warrick, Steve Spurrier, Dewayne Robertson, Rick Mirer, Curtis Enis, Ron Dayne, Tim Couch, Akili Smith, any of those would be interesting to go "balls deep" into haha
I liked Jake Locker! I remember living in Seattle and going to a Dollar Tree and buying a few packs of Football trading cards and pulled Jake Locker rookie card,Josh Gordon,Cam Newton,Jay Cutler, Mark Sanchez and a few others but all those were stolen from me in 2017.
What’s crazy about Locker is he was probably going to be a top 10 pick in 2010 but decided to go back to college… he still went top 10 but they reworked rookie contracts that year so he lost out on tens of millions of dollars at least.
I'm usually pretty good at scouting QBs, but I was high on Locker. Partly because I get blinders for people from my favorite schools ..... or programs I hate. Which actually helps me more than it doesn't. (ie: (Oregon & Marcus Mariota).
I think a video series about all time great regular season games nobody remembers or talks about could be fun. Or a best and worst type video going over some of the best offensive/ worse defensive performances. I'd say to do best defensive/ worst offensive performance videos too, but you made like 7 of those this year already
My friends and I used to make bets on NFL games, either with betting places or against ourselves. Betting on Titans while Locker was playing was scary, every hit he took made me scared that he will be injured

Nfl lore, with stat-screen graphics, and humor of questionable taste?! Yes, please, right up my alley 😁😶... 😒 or whatever that saying is (sounds dirtier now that I've typed it out-loud🤔). Anyway, 5 out of 5 stars, would recommend to a friend!
7:30 Allen improved accuracy due to Jordan Palmer's mechanics camp, not Daboll or any of the Bills staff at the time. He spent the whole offseason with Palmer after his 2019 season which transformed him into a beast in 2020. Now I will say Daboll helped Allen reduce his turnover issues (its up again since Daboll left) by dailing up plays that fit Josh's play style but the actual accuracy was not his doing. If Locker had access to the technology that is out there like Allen did, it could have been different for Locker.
The biggest reason players bust in gridiron football always comes down to toughness and will. The game is brutally violent you have to embrace that. If not you will not last
I live in Bellingham WA, which is right next to Ferndale. He runs a gym in Ferndale now. He has come into the sport shop I work at, very nice in our interactions.
Went a football camp led by him and other UW football players. Good dude in my experience, and I think he had a really good set of tools to be a high level dude in the NFL, but he couldn't stay healthy. Initially didn't see him as a first round guy, but really diving into the tape, I think Anthony Richardson has a lot in comparison as a modern comparison. Cheering for Richardson to have better health and a better situation coming into the NFL.
For the record, Ferndale is very far north Washington, so not really close to Seattle.. but I suppose relatively it's close if you compare it to crossing states.

I enjoyed watching him play when he was on the field it’s was a amazing roller coaster ride haha used to set in the same section as a guy who wore a locker jersey but had Mr Glass instead of locker on the back
He was a beast on either madden 11 or 12. Been a minute, can't remember the year. Lol
Since you have so many more Seattle fans now, I appreciate your work here good sir
Tim Biakabatuka, Peter Warrick, Steve Spurrier, Dewayne Robertson, Rick Mirer, Curtis Enis, Ron Dayne, Tim Couch, Akili Smith, any of those would be interesting to go "balls deep" into haha
david cross has always been hilarious and he's pretty good in more serious roles too.
16:13 Marcus Mariota to Marcus Mariota is the greatest QB-WR duo ever.
You DEFINITELY need to do a video on that Titans vs Lions game! That was a WILD one!
“God that might need a video” lmfaoooo it definitely does
I liked Jake Locker! I remember living in Seattle and going to a Dollar Tree and buying a few packs of Football trading cards and pulled Jake Locker rookie card,Josh Gordon,Cam Newton,Jay Cutler, Mark Sanchez and a few others but all those were stolen from me in 2017.
Hey, Sean Patton is a talented comic. One of the best I've ever had the pleasure of working with. Put respect on that man's name.
I’m literally from Ferndale, Jake spoke at my Aunts funeral and he’s a super down to earth guy
What’s crazy about Locker is he was probably going to be a top 10 pick in 2010 but decided to go back to college… he still went top 10 but they reworked rookie contracts that year so he lost out on tens of millions of dollars at least.
“I’m afraid you have an aggressive case of the Nooksack” is a great line
I need more videos like this! The stories we never hear about! Also can you do a what if series like what if Tom Brady was drafted to the Saints.
19:41 lol the picture for Dallas
Husky legend. We love jake locker and he’s an incredible guy
I'm usually pretty good at scouting QBs, but I was high on Locker. Partly because I get blinders for people from my favorite schools ..... or programs I hate. Which actually helps me more than it doesn't. (ie: (Oregon & Marcus Mariota).
Jake is an awesome guy, great coach.
Thanks for covering content that is left uncovered by the mainstream NFL media.
Dude, Brandon, I friggin' LOVE your player deep dives. They're like a 30 For 30, but with good jokes and less dude's in button-up shirts.
Nfl lore, with stat-screen graphics, and humor of questionable taste?! Yes, please, right up my alley 😁😶... 😒 or whatever that saying is (sounds dirtier now that I've typed it out-loud🤔).
Anyway,
5 out of 5 stars, would recommend to a friend!
Joey Harrington
Maybe not a true bust but as a Lions fan- he gave me some hope
And he had a huge Times Square body shot
7:30 Allen improved accuracy due to Jordan Palmer's mechanics camp, not Daboll or any of the Bills staff at the time. He spent the whole offseason with Palmer after his 2019 season which transformed him into a beast in 2020.
Now I will say Daboll helped Allen reduce his turnover issues (its up again since Daboll left) by dailing up plays that fit Josh's play style but the actual accuracy was not his doing.
If Locker had access to the technology that is out there like Allen did, it could have been different for Locker.
Omg! Perna those photoshops of you "retired perna" and of course "exterminator perna"... had to screenshot/save for posterity. lmao so good.
The biggest reason players bust in gridiron football always comes down to toughness and will. The game is brutally violent you have to embrace that. If not you will not last
Brandon you our one of the funniest people I ever saw my guy g shit u got some comedians 😂😂😂
Wow-respect for Locker. I didn’t know that story-very interesting thank you
Jake Locker is from my home town he's a legend around here
Dude retired and chilled. Respect.
I love seeing these. Keep it up these are always fun to watch. Pls make a video on that lions titans game
I love the "when I retire" - pigeons, bugs, erotic fiction and, lastly be a good dad.
Locker should become a commentator. He could call his show The Locker Room. 😂
You need to do one on Jimmy Clawson
I live in Bellingham WA, which is right next to Ferndale. He runs a gym in Ferndale now. He has come into the sport shop I work at, very nice in our interactions.
locker room has been closed man
i live in ferndale
I love the videos where Brandon wears the shirt that matches his background the most of all :-)
I didn't forget him. That slide he did on fourth down to end their season will always be burned in my memory.
It is VERY hard to draft in the 1st round.
I've gone through 1980-2002 1st round drafts and just wow. Tons of swings and misses
Oh as a titans fan from and currently in salt lake I definitely remember the locker days. That followed the young years 😅
Went a football camp led by him and other UW football players.
14:58 the hatred for the Chiefs 😂😂
Jake Locker is the biggest thing that ever came out of our small town.
Putting our big Nooksack all over the map.
For the record, Ferndale is very far north Washington, so not really close to Seattle.. but I suppose relatively it's close if you compare it to crossing states.
